Chapter 1952
Chapter 1952
Wynn frowned and was confused. "Why? That's not a good feeling. My father doesn't like it and neither do I."
I smiled and stretched out my hand to touch his shoulder as I explained, "People change. There will be many more moments like this as you grow older."
Hendrix probably never imagined that he would be jealous of a woman he'd brought home.
I felt much more relaxed as I thought of that.
Wynn led me inside as he talked. Compared to last time at the shopping mall, he was using more advanced words to describe things, he was clearly progressing well with his lessons.
A maid was waiting in the inner hall. When she saw us walk in, she took my luggage from the driver and greeted me respectfully, "Miss Reid, your room is ready. Please follow me."
I nodded. "Sorry to trouble you so."
On the second floor, the maid stopped in front of a door of one of the many rooms. She pushed the door open and gestured us to go in. "Please come in."
I stretched out my neck and was surprised. "I'll be staying here?"
The maid nodded. "That's right. Master's orders. If you need anything, you can call for me."
After that, she left.
I led Wynn inside.
The room was large and had a living space. It was decorated in a modern style, which formed a strong visual contrast to the old house's aesthetic.
I took a quick look around and sat down on the sofa. Wynn was sticking very close to me.
I always found him to be an adorable kid. Since I would be living here as his stepmother from now on, I was relieved to know that this kid is an absolute cutie no matter how you look at him.
Ruffling his soft black hair, I couldn't help but reach out and hug him gently.
Wynn opened his eyes curiously, pondered for a moment, then hugged me back. When he noticed that I wasn't resisting, he hugged my neck and stuck his small face close to me, refusing to let go.
I sighed. Did he already know how to take advantage of others at such a young age?
Just as I was about to push him away, my heart softened when I heard his childish voice.
"Auntie, can I be with you forever? I miss mommy so much. Will you be my mommy?"
My hands froze in mid-air, and my heart suddenly ached.
What could a kid his age know about everything that was happening? He simply missed his mother.
I put down my hand gently, patted
him on the back, and

I suddenly looked up and noticed that Hendrix was staring at us.
I quickly sat up straight, pushed Wynn away and reminded him, "Daddy is here."
"Mr. Facism!" Wynn shouted excitedly, jumped off the sofa, and rushed over to grab Hendrix's legs.
Hendrix's face darkened as he said quietly, "Call me Daddy."

"Mm," Hendrix grunted gently as he picked Wynn up.
Wynn was so small, he looked like a doll in Hendrix's arms. The two of them were leaning against each other, but the whole sight looked heartwarming.
Like earlier, Wynn hugged Hendrix's neck and kept rubbing his cheeks on Hendrix's.
Hendrix frowned. "Why are you sniffing me?"
"I don't smell any jealousy." Wynn pouted, looking confused.
Hendrix put him on the sofa and asked him, in a rare show of tenderness, "What's that?"
I roughly guessed what Wynn was going to say next, so I quickly interrupted.
"You're jealous!"
