Caleb sat in his car, staring intently at Stephen and the woman.
The woman looked like someone with an air of superficial glamor, while Stephen acted meekly and ingratiatingly around her, looking like nothing more than a boy toy.
He was entirely different from how he was with Simona, where he always put on a cold, noble front.
If Caleb hadn't been watching closely, he might have thought they were two different people.
He contacted Skylar because he was unsure if he should say anything. Discussing it with other friends would be embarrassing for Simona.
After all, Simona had proudly chosen this man and often flaunted him on social media, only for him to turn out to be a rotten scoundrel behind her back. No one could accept that.
In the car, Stephen and the woman began kissing openly. Caleb quickly recorded a short video and sent it to Skylar.
"This guy's only skill is lying and fooling people. Other than that, he's useless. Simona's been lied to big time. I almost wanted to jump out of the car and punch him."
Skylar replied promptly. "Don't do anything for now. With Aiken around, he won't let Simona get hurt."
Reading her message, Caleb calmed down.
Skylar was right. How could he forget Aiken? If he had caught Stephen cheating, Aiken probably knew as well.
Maybe he was just waiting for the right moment to reveal Stephen's true colors to Simona.
But no matter what, what Stephen did was indeed low.
...
Right after that, Skylar forwarded the photo and video to Aiken.
"Do you know about this?"
Aiken didn't reply immediately. It was likely because he was busy at the time, Skylar checked the time before heading downstairs. Then, she bid Gloria and Veronica goodbye before she left the house.
Aiken replied to her when she was on her way.
"I arranged that."
Seeing his reply, Skylar let out a sigh of relief. Just as she thought, Aiken had everything planned.
Skylar had hoped that Stephen was someone who could rise above his difficult upbringing and grow into someone Simona could trust and love. But it seemed that she had been too optimistic.
Stephen was too easily lured by Aiken's setup, proving his character.
Someone so calculating didn't deserve Simona.
Simona would be heartbroken when she found out Stephen's true nature. However, everyone would face challenges growing up, and they would meet a few bad apples along the way.
Lost in thought, Skylar soon found herself in a traffic jam.
The city center had always had heavy traffic. It was fortunate that she had left home early. She could still reach the restaurant in time.
There were plenty of angry drivers
on the road, but since most of the shouting was in their native tongue. So, Skylar couldn't fully understand and didn't pay much attention.
Swne
As she neared her destination, traffic ground to a near standstill. She was only a mile away-a 15-minute walk-but still had to inch forward slowly.
Just then, her phone rang. Joe's deep voice can through the earpiece.
"There's a traffic jam, so don't rush to get here. Drive safely," he reminded her thoughtfully.
Seeing the unmoving cars ahead, Skylar smiled. "It's definitely jammed up here. I'll be careful. You too."
"I'm here already. What would you like to eat? I'll send you the menu," Joe replied.
