We leave Ella asleep in the playroom while Jude and I go to the living room and talk. After grabbing a couple of sodas from the kitchen, I join my friend on the couch, “So, it‘s not like I‘m not glad to see you earlier than expected, but why are you hear already?”

Popping the tab on his can, he takes a drink before an swering my question, “I wanted to give Beth space to figure out what she wants out of this relationship.”

“Oh wow,” his response takes me off guard, “I hadn‘t real ized that there were any issues with the two of you.”

He scoffs, “You and me both, bro.” He takes another drink, “She‘s jealous, or at least that‘s how she‘s playing it off, any way.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well,” he sighs heavily, “First she brought up collaring Madison and I told her that I wasn‘t interested in collaring her, so then, she brings up Ella and asked me if it was because of her and how she can see how bad I want to fuck her.”

I can‘t really say I‘m surprised by what he‘s telling me; I‘ve seen it myself, but I never thought it went further than what all the other Dominants want with Ella. Jude is smirking at me while I‘m contemplating everything that he‘s just told me.

“Yes and no, I mean I knew you were wanting to do more with her, though, I know you wouldn‘t without permission, but I never thought it was more than what others want to do with her.” I explain.

Jude scoffs and then glares at me, “Are you honestly putting me in the same group as those perverted assholes? Yeah, she‘s a fucking innocent beauty, who wouldn‘t want to scene with her, but I see her for who she is, Jace.” He scrubs his face with his hands, “Maybe my feelings do go a little deeper for her, but she‘s your girl, man, and I‘m not crossing that line without your permission.”

I can‘t help being the one to smirk this time, “I never thought you would, bro. You‘re the only one I trust her with because I know you.”

“Fuck, I will fucking protect her with my life, man; the same as I would you.”

I lift my fist, so we can bump it out, “So, what are you hun gry for?”

“After that hot little session, I can eat anything! What are you making?” He chuckles.

“Fuck that, I‘m doing takeout!”

“Oh, definitely wings and pizza then!”

“Great, do you want to go with, or do you want to stay in case Ella wakes up?”

“I had better stay in case she‘s still out of it.”

“Sounds good. Oh, I have to stop off and grab her birth day gift as well, so it may take just a little longer.”

“It‘s fine, go! I think I can handle holding down the fort for a little while.” He grins and waves me off.

There are a few places that I need to stop at because what I ordered her couldn‘t be bought at the same place; there is still one package that will be delivered in the next day or two. I‘m not the best when it comes to picking out presents, but I do know my girl, so it does make it a bit easier.

The first stop is the jewelry store and then the second stop is at the printing store. Both gifts turned out amazing and I can‘t wait for her to unwrap them on her birthday. I then call and try talking Ethan and Elaine into surprising her as well, and I know Ella talks to them almost every day, and she said that they couldn‘t make it, but I have to try myself.

“We just can‘t make it happen, Jace. Why don‘t you two come home for the weekend?” Ethan pleads, and he almost has me saying yes, but then I think about Jude and all her oth er friends that are looking forward to celebrating with her as well.

“Can‘t do it, Ethan. I already have the party date and time set up and her friend, Reece, has been planning the rest. Be sides, my friend Jude flew back out to celebrate with us.”

“You mean that big, scary ex–Marine friend?” He chuckles, which then makes me chuckle as well.

“Yeah, the big, scary ex–Marine, Jude.” I repeat.

“Oh, well, I definitely don‘t want to piss him off, but seri ously, we won‘t be able to make it, I‘m sorry.” Her father states.

“It‘s okay, I had to at least try for her.”

“You are so good to my little girl, Jace. I‘m glad you got your head out of your ass and realized what a beautiful young woman you have in your life.”

“I knew that before, I just wasn‘t thinking straight, and for that, I will forever be making it up to her.” These words have never been truer.

“She‘s already forgiven you, son; it‘s time that you forgive yourself.” Ethan says softly over the speaker.

“Yeah, that‘s what she keeps saying too.” I snicker.

“My daughter is one smart cookie. I wonder where she gets it from?” | can hear the proud smile in his voice as I pull up to the pizza place.

“We all know Elaine is the brains in the family, Ethan.” || joke.

“Keep it up, Jace, and you will get coal in your stocking at the cabin this year!” The threat is empty, but I retract my words anyway.

“Yeah, okay Ethan, Ella gets her brains from her super smart father. There, does that make you happy?”

“Yes, it does, even if you did say it a bit snarky.” I hear his laughter through my Jeep.

“Okay, well I better go. I need to feed your daughter be fore she gets grumpy.”

“Yeah, okay. Give her my love for me and take care or yourselves.”

“Will do.” | disconnect the call and then hurry in to grab our order and then head home, hoping Ella is awake by the time I get there.

I hear Ella‘s laughter as I walk into the apartment, and it warms my heart; I love her laugh. What I walk into is com pletely unexpected, though. My naked girl is curled up on my best friend‘s lap and they are watching something on his phone, which makes them both laugh this time. You would think that I would be bothered by walking into this scene, but I‘m not. It actually makes me happy that both my girl and best friend are comfortable enough to be able to do so.

Igrin, “Who‘s hungry?”

“Jace!” Ella jumps up and comes running over to me just as I‘m setting the food down on the counter.

My hands free up just in time to catch her as she jumps up and wraps her legs around my waist. I kiss her hard for a moment and then break away, “You weren‘t naughty for Mas ter Jude, were you?”

She smiles and shakes her head vigorously and turns to my friend for confirmation, “Precious was a very good girl, We‘ve been sitting here watching funny video clips on my phone while we waited for you to get back.” He walks over and kisses her temple as he passes.

I don‘t know why but it just seems so natural to have Jude here like this. I think this is the first time that I actually left the house and didn‘t have to worry about Ella. Even when she had her two bodyguards, I still worried all the time. Not with Jude, though, and that says something. I really hope that he and Beth can work things out, because he really is a good guy, and even though he‘s rough around the edges, he‘s got a big heart and a lot of love to give.

Tapping her ass, I get her attention before slowly letting go, “Let‘s eat, baby. If I continue to hold you the way you are, l‘ m going to end up bending you over right here and fuck you while I eat my pizza, and I know you need a bit of rest.”

Ella giggles, “Should I go get clothes on?”

| shrug, “Only if you want to. I don‘t mind this view, though.” | wink at her. I settle her onto a stool and go grab pa per plates to use.

Once we are all settled and filling ourselves full of pizza and wings, Jude slides his phone over to me, “Hey, isn‘t that what‘s her name form Shameless, that Domme?”

Wiping my hands off on my napkin, I pick up his phone and press play on the video. I think my eyes almost pop out of my head, “Holy Shit! Somebody recorded it!” | can‘t believe what I‘m seeing on my friend‘s phone right now!

I move my stool closer to her, “This, baby, is Nessa getting her ass handed to her by Dark Queen after what she did to you.” | glance at my friend, “Dude, Ava comes up with some sick shit just like you! The only sad thing is that Nessa is such

a slut that she‘s taking everything that Dark Queen is handing

out.”

“So how is this getting her ass handed to her?” Jude asks confused.

“She still has us to deal with, but Nessa is actually Vanessa Jacobs.” | say it like he should know who that is, but it‘s Ella who gasps instead.

“That‘s Mayor Jacob‘s daughter?” My girl smiles broadly.

“Yep, and if this is all over the web, that means daddy‘s people have probably seen it and daddy‘s good girl is now in a heap of trouble.”

Jude throws his head back and laughs, “Oh, damn! See, that‘s why I stay out of politics! Everybody is always under a constant microscope. That can‘t be good for the next elec tion.”

Me, on the other hand, I hit play again, so Jude can watch the whole thing as well.
