Charles took a look at the lady by his side who was going through something on her phone, it appears his little bro ditched her and has refused to take her calls and texts too..

The car slowed down as they met a red light ahead which caused a little traffic jam..

“Xander is a jerk! I thought he was coming to pick me up!”

He shook his head slowly at her outburst, the poor lady had no idea that the man she was waiting for was currently with another lady..

He had overheard the latter conversing with a lady earlier today about going for a movie or so…

“Relax.. I’m sure he was caught up with something.. and by the way who are you?”

The brunette haired lady snapped her head to Charles with a darkened expression..

“I’m Ashley, his girlfriend..”

She took a deep breath in relaxing back on the soft seat, her eyes fell on the flashy red car that just pulled over right next to their’s..

She recognized it instantly, jerking up a bit she lowered the glass with a wide grin on her face, Charles noticed her sudden reaction..

He also took a glance to the side and was the most surprised to see his cousin, soon his face fell a bit when he noticed that he was not alone in the car..

Ashley wasn’t spared either, her face fell on seeing the smile that never ceased on his face as he continuously teased the lady next to him..

“That explains why he never answered my calls and texts!”

Charles snapped his gaze away from them, he knew that he had no right to be mad, after all he promised his cousin to step back from pursuing Bianca..

The red car sped past their car and soon after every other cars started moving..

“Follow that car.. he needs to give me some explanations!”

Alexa followed behind Grandma Jade and Hardin as they headed into their apartment, she took a step forward only to bump into Hardin’s back after he stopped abruptly at the door leading into the apartment..

“Ouch!”

He turned around to face her, he noticed that she had been following them and he wondered why..

“What do you want?”

“What do you mean by that?! you and grandma have to provide a new place for me to stay! I just lost my properties to that fire! all because of your faulty stove!”

Hardin chuckled which made grandma Jade halt her movement, she turned around to face her grandson in surprise..

Did she just hear him laugh?

“Wait! you find this funny?! I’ll file a complaint against you and your Grandma if you don’t give me a place to stay-

“You can stay with us until your apartment is fixed” Grandma Jade interrupted, she walked to their midst pushing Alexa backward with the end of her walking stick..

The latter was a pretty lady no doubt, she only needed to be fixed in terms of her attitude, rudeness and arrogance..

“What?!” The two asked in unison staring at the old lady in shock..

Alexa snapped her head back to Hardin with a frown etched deeply on her forehead..

“What do you mean by that? I should be the one reacting that way not you! do you think I’m so excited to stay under the same roof with you?”

Hardin raked his hand through his dark hair which left Alexa having second thoughts about her words..

“Well think again.. who knows, maybe you blew up your apartment on purpose just so you can get closer to me.. but guess what? I’m not into ladies who look more or less like a burnt toast”

Alexa’s lips parted in surprise, did he just compare her to a burnt toast?!

“Burnt toast?! do you know who I am?!”

“I don’t know maybe you can take a look in the mirror first” He pointed nonchalantly as he disappeared behind the door..

The red car came to a halt at the parking space, Xander stepped out and walked around hurriedly to Bianca’s side..

He pulled it open and offered her a hand which she slapt off, she stepped out of the car herself closing the door gently..

“Seriously? you just ruined the chance of me trying to be a gentleman”

Bianca rolled her eyes walking away from him while he tailed behind her..

“Why are you always in a bad mood?” he questioned curiously holding her back, she stopped walking and faced him with a narrowed gaze..

“That’s because you tend to show your face whenever I’m trying to smile a little, I hope you understand.. I’m playing along just because i-

Xander snapped his head to the car fast approaching them, he pulled Bianca out of the way just before it could hit her, its tires made a harsh screech against the ground..

It stopped just a few metres away from the two who had a look of horror on their faces..

Meanwhile..

Charles pulled off Ashley’s hands from the steering wheel, if he hadn’t stepped on the brakes on time, Bianca would have gotten seriously injured by the supposed hit…

“Have you lost it?!”

“Yes!” She affirmed..

Seething in anger, the latter pulled off her seat belt stepping out of the car, she closed the door with a little bang while Charles came out next going after her…

Xander’s face fell when she emerged from the car walking straight to him or more specifically Bianca..

Ashley sent a slap to Bianca’s face as soon as she was close enough to her cutting Xander’s speech off..

“You cheap b*tch! trying to crawl up your way on my boyfriend’s bed?! how dare you?!”

Charles took a step forward to intervene only for Xander to place a hand to his chest pushing him backward a bit..

“Don’t” He warned meaningfully knowing what was coming next..

Bianca’s jaw clenched in anger, she averted her gaze to the strange lady who had a mocking grin on her face..

An ear piercing shrill followed suite after Ashley’s hair was pulled harshly by the latter, a deafening slap fell next to her ear before she felt her back hitting the car’s bonnet beneath her..

Everything happened so fast for everyone around to comprehend, Ashley sat up on the car’s bonnet with her hand against her left cheek that was burning hot from the slap she just received..

“You dared raised your hand to me?!” Bianca barked taking another step to the latter only to be held back by Xander..

His arm around her waist tightened as he led her away from Ashley..
