Mummy, Daddy is on his knees

Damien placed both hands on her shoulder staring down at her eyes which had tears rolling down to her cheeks..

All they could hear at that moment was the sound of their heart beating faster than normal, everything was going great few minutes ago and now she was threatening to leave him for good..

“I admit it Olivia! I admit that I approached you for a purpose.. my main goal was to get you and Kelvin, because I was scared that i might never have a family of my own-

Olivia paid no attention to his cries as she was more focused on getting them out of this surroundings..

They got to the apartment twenty five minutes later, her phone had been beeping and ringing none stop while Kelvin had been crying too..

Today wasn’t really her day, she rang the doorbell and almost immediately, Sandy came in view with a shocked expression on her face..

“Olivia?”

Olivia walked past her mum and headed into the apartment pulling the heavy trunks with her, she almost bumped into Bianca who was holding up a hot mug of tea..

“Watch it-… Olivia?”

She ignored Bianca and made her way to her room, the two figures stood in a daze staring at her back till the sound of her door was heard next..

Bianca placed the mug on the dining table and approached Kelvin who was sobbing while Kiara tried to pacify him..

“Honey.. what happened? did your mum and dad get into a fight?”

Kelvin shook his head and fell into Bianca’s arms sobbing continuously..

“Please don’t cry anymore”

She faced Sandy who was equally curious on what could have happened, everything was becoming so confusing as the seconds ticked by..

“Can you please ask Mrs Sterling if she knows anything? Olivia was pretty mad when she came in just now.. and now these two are sobbing”

Sandy nodded and left to get her phone, but if Anita knew anything about whatever this was, she’d have been the first to relay the message to her..

The novel Alexa was reading closed when her door opened without a knock coming through first..

Her gaze fell on the petite lady who had a plate on her hand walking towards her with a wide grin on her lips..

Clarissa jumped right next to Alexa on the bed offering her the freshly cut moon shaped oranges which glowed bright orange..

“Hi.. I was guessing you’d love to eat oranges and also chic chat a little?”

It took Alexa a great effort to stop herself from hurling the plate across the room, how dare she try to win her heart over by offering her oranges?

Her eyes fell on the black polo the latter was putting on which obviously belonged to Hardin..

“Hello?” Clarissa waved a palm over Alexa’s face when she felt her question wasn’t going to be answered just yet..

A wide grin carved up on Alexa’s lips, she took one of the oranges and had a bite out of it..

“Sorry that I zoned out.. I was just curious on who you were.. but that’s fine I’m guessing you’re related to Hardin”

Clarissa placed the plate aside giving a nod, she failed to see Alexa’s sharp glare directed at her head..

If only glares were daggers, Clarissa would have been stabbed over and over again..

“Yeah.. you have no idea how much I’ve always wanted to meet you in person, some of my friends who met you said you were a proud lady but I don’t see that.. you’re cool”

Alexa scoffed inwardly, she wasn’t cool, she was cold infact..

“Oh my.. thanks for the kind words..”

Clarissa tapped her forehead slightly as if recalling something she had forgotten to do “My bad! I’m Clarissa”

Clarissa, sounds more like b*tch to Alexa, she faked a smile accepting the latter’s outstretched hand..

“Jeez your palm feels so soft..”

Alexa retracted her hand suddenly feeling weird, Clarissa or whatever her name was, was beginning to sound creepy to her..

“Yeah I guess.. by the way, how exactly are you related to Hardin? is he your boyfriend?”

Meanwhile, at the corridor Hardin’s hand that was about to knock against the door stopped midway as Alexa’s question reached his ears..

He shook his head slowly and walked into the room after a brief knock on the door, he moved closer to the bed with a tray..

“I made you something to eat.. please don’t say no this time”

Alexa’s calculative mind roamed endlessly back and forth the two, she badly wanted to know what relationship they shared..

“I’m not hungry”

Hardin placed the tray by her nightstand table, he shooed Clarissa off the bed while he took a seat on the bed next to Alexa..

He won’t sit back and watch her act so stubborn, what would he say to Damien if eventually his sister fell sick or something?

“You’ll eat and I’ll watch you do so.. go on” he ordered placing the tray on her laps but she refused to budge..

Had she always been like this? he had a feeling that she was mad at him for something he had no idea of..

After she had left the room, Hardin took hold of the spoon on the tray..

“Are you mad at me for what happened yesterday? didn’t I tell you I was sorry and it was a mistake? I promise I won’t let that happen again.. please have a bite”

“I’ll eat but first answer my question honestly Hardin..”

Hardin gave her a nod for her to go on with her question..

“Is she a family member or your girlfriend?”

She noticed his gaze dropped at the question, the question wasn’t so hard to answer it was just a matter of a yes and a no..

Why were they taking so long to answer that?

“Umm.. yes she is”

A sad gleam washed over her face which was quickly replaced with a bright smile, she snatched the spoon from his grip..

“Alright.. you can leave now, I’ll take it from here”

Hardin was confused by her sudden change of attitude, he felt something was wrong with her since last night..

Last night, he knew fully well that she was awake but yet she had refused to speak to him and now?..

“Okay.. just call me if you need anything, I’ll be outside”

She watched his back leaving the room and as soon as he had left, she placed the spoon harshly on the tray..

“I never liked him either in the first place” she lamented with a pout..

He tossed his phone aside which made a hard noise as it crashed on the marbled floor, everything was ruined again..

The door to his room opened with a small bang, he took a glance at the door and almost immediately he was engulfed into a tight embrace by his mum..

“Honey.. I got here as fast as I could, Olivia’s mum informed me about your disagreement, what exactly happened? she was finally accepting you into her life. How did it manage to get ruined again?”

Her supposed honeymoon trip with Aldrin was shifted at the last minute, she wasn’t willing to go anywhere unless her son was finally happy..

“Mum I messed up.. she thinks I’m a liar and a cheat, but I really didn’t mean to make her feel that way…”

Anita patted his back gently, she badly wanted to know what really happened between them…
