Mummy, Daddy is on his knees

The most awaited weekend Kelvin had been looking forward to was finally here, he had bugged his mum on how to make the day go by faster just so he could visit his dad..

Olivia touched her forehead with her palm listening to Kelvin’s nonstop talks, he hasn’t been this excited to hang out with her like he was doing now..

“Kelvin get back here!” She yelled after his little frame that just jumped out of the bathtub still in his play pants and also covered in soapy bubbles..

Sandy giggled as the water from Kelvin’s water gun sprinkled on her face, it was obvious the kid was so excited to spend the weekend with his dad..

“Kelvin!” Olivia yelled out frustratedly running down the stairs..

“Mum will you please tell him to stop stressing me so early? maybe I’ll just cancel the plan”

Kelvin stopped abruptly when he heard his mum’s last words, he turned to her in surprise..

“But why?”

“Gotcha!” Bianca screamed out swiping him off his little feet, he was so slippery and difficult to hold for much longer..

Olivia sighed shaking her head slowly, she approached the two and took Kelvin into her arms..

“Thanks Bianca.. he’s becoming too troublesome lately..”

“Yeah he feels he can play so much now just because his cast was removed…” Bianca murmured walking towards the window when she heard a car pulling over..

“Hey honey.. it’s Damien on the phone” Sandy chirped teasingly walking to Olivia..

She handed the phone to the latter who was still clutching Kelvin to herself..

Olivia accepted the phone from her mum and brought it to her face, truly it was from Damien and also a video call..

She hesitated for a while but it was suddenly accepted by Kelvin..

“Hey daddy!!” he waved excitedly at the screen which Damien returned back also, he appeared to be jogging with small pants escaping his lips..

His body was glistening with sweats which made Olivia wonder what he was up to..

“Umm.. what are you doing?” She asked curiously..

Damien stopped jogging and moved back a little to give her a hint of whatever he was doing, heat crept on Olivia’s face when his bare chest came in view..

It appeared that he was working out on the treadmill…

“I’m sorry I can’t pick you both up.. I sent my men over, don’t worry they’ll bring you guys over safely.. I’m sure they must have arrived by now”

“Olivia.. two cars just pulled over, I think it’s Damien” Bianca murmured in uncertainty peering out of the window..

“I guess they are here now…”

Damien’s eyes lit up at the other end, he gave her a nod..

“Great! I’ll be expecting you both”

Olivia stared down at her trunk, she couldn’t afford to take the same risk again after what her mum pulled off weeks back..

After making sure everything was intact in her trunk she sighed in satisfaction..

But something felt off, why would her mum pack the right clothes into her trunk? it definitely looks and sounds fishy..

She left for the bathroom and as soon as she was gone, the door to her room opened..

Sandy’s head was the first to pop into the room looking around, and when the coast was clear, she signaled her other partner in crime to come in..

In five minutes, Olivia and Kelvin were set to leave, except that one of the guards was taking a brown box to the car..

Olivia frowned, that wasn’t part of the things they were taking along with them..

“Hold on.. we aren’t actually taking that”

Kelvin was quick to intervene “No mummy, those are my toys, I can’t go without them.. pleassseeee” He blinked his cute eyes at her and like magic, it worked on her..

Alexa rolled out of the bed to the floor with a heavy thud after an ear piercing sound reached her sensitive ears..

“Get off the floor you lazy cat! it’s cleaning day today” Grandma Jade announced swiping the curtain open..

Alexa pulled herself off the floor rubbing her fore head gently, she snapped her head to the old lady who had a whistle strapped around her neck..

In the last few days, grandma Jade and her grandson Hardin, had tried to make her life a living nightmare..

Maybe it was high time she searched for a job and move out of their crazy home..

“Okay let me get this straight.. you woke me up just because today happened to be your cleaning day?”

Grandma Jade gave a nod to Alexa’s question..

“So? how is this any of my business? go and do your cleaning!…” She lashed out in irritation and lay back on the bed pulling the sheet over her body..

The sound of hard boots hitting the floor made Alexa’s eyes snap open once more, no one needed to tell her who that was..

“I’ll handle this grandma.. go take a rest” He assured with a deep manly tone, he guided her out of the room and when he returned back Alexa was seated upright…

She followed his movement with her eyes, and just like the last days, he stopped in front of the vanity table and picked up the photo of a couple resting on it..

“Are they related to you? or perhaps your parents?”

Hardin ignored her questions, he placed down the photo with a sad gleam in his eyes..

Everything happened so fast in a span of a minute, and in the next second, he turned back to her with a blank face….

“I hope you heard what my grandmother said?”

“Duh.. I’m your tenant not your family member, you recalled your words from earlier right? I’m just a victim of circumstances. If eventually my apartments stop reeking of smoke, I’ll gladly move out!”

Hardin’s hands crossed over his chest “I’ll give you till the count of three to join me over here.”

Alexa snorted raking her hand through her tangled hair….

“Or else what? report me to my family? or your grandma? look Hardin.. I’m not scared of you”
