Mummy, Daddy is on his knees

Olivia took two step closer to Damien with her phone outstretched to him..

“There’s no need to be surprised like I said earlier, it’s my responsibility now.. all you have to do is to be a good fiancee and leave the rest all to me” He calmly stated, but what surprised him the most was that this building was owned by the Sterling’s..

One of them at least, but who among his family members can stoop as low as this?

Her outstretched hand slowly dropped to her side, she didn’t want him to see how vulnerable she was, she had always cleared her bills by herself..

What if Kelvin eventually likes his dad more than her ?

“See mummy? daddy took care of everything and you don’t have to work so hard anymore”

“You’re giving him so much credit what about me?” She inquired narrowing her eyes at the two who suddenly bursted out laughing at her expression..

Damien took a glance at his wrist watch, in as much as he wanted this rare moment to last longer, he had to be at a meeting in the next ten minutes..

“Umm.. Kelvin, we need to go now.. I promise to stop by another time or better still spend the entire weekend with you alright?”

Kelvin’s eyes lit up “Can we come over to your house? grandma said you live in a very fancy house”

Damien smiled rubbing the kid’s cheek with his thumb, his eyes found its way back to Olivia’s face with a questioning gaze..

“We already made plans this weekend.. right Kelvin?” she asked with a little smile hoping to convince her son with it but she got a blatant and straight reply in a second..

“No we didn’t”

Olivia’s face reddened in embarassment, luckily for her, the door opened as Bianca hurried in calling out to Cassie..

“Mum!”

“Bianca? where were you?” Olivia questioned the latter who suddenly lessened her voice after noticing Damien’s presence in the living room..

“There’s no time to explain.. is my mum still here?” she asked to receive a nod from Olivia..

Olivia was left confused for a second until Nathan’s frame walked in through the door, her lips formed an ‘o’shape..

Now she got everything, at the same time, Damien felt weird when he saw Nathan, that was because he had acted off with the latter last night..

He had a fair point of view though, he had initially thought Nathan was the supposed match for Olivia..

Bianca stopped at the base of the stairs when her mum appeared out of her room with red swollen eyes, she looked like a mess rolled in disaster..

Her hair was all out of place while her hand held a box of tissue clutched to her chest..

A small crease appeared on Bianca’s forehead, was it this bad?

“Mum?.. you look awful” She blurted out..

“Bianca!” Olivia shunned in a lowered tone

“Alright.. I admit I was wrong mum, I shouldn’t have said those mean things to you last night, so that’s the reason I want to make things right again and because I certainly don’t want to see you in this state”..

Cassie’s sob subsided down when her eyes met that of Nathan standing at the other end of the room..

“So mum.. meet Nathan, my new dad”

Olivia gasped softly with a genuine smile appearing on her lips, this was so beautiful, never in her wildest dream did it cross her mind that Bianca could be this sweet.

Cassie peeled her gaze off Nathan to Bianca who had a grin on her face, was she hallucinating again?

“Yeah I mean it..”

Nathan took few steps to Cassie who now had her whole gaze fixated on him in surprise..

“Cassie-

His words ran down his throat when she suddenly threw herself into his warm embrace, the dam in her eyes bursted open as she sobbed hard..

“Awwnn.. so beautiful” Olivia murmured wiping the single tear that fell off her left eye..

Nathan’s arm went around her pressing her against himself, he stroked her dark hair gently trying to pacify her..

“It’s alright Cassie.. everything is fine now right?”

Olivia’s hair suddenly stood on end when a chilly voice rang next to her left ear..

“This could be us in the coming days.. what do you say?”

Anita swiped the thick curtains in her bedroom open, a smile graced her lips as she danced to the bed where Aldrin lay fast asleep..

“Honey.. wake up.. guess what day it is today?” She chirmed tickling his sides..

Aldrin rolled to the other end of the bed with a deep sigh, he didn’t want to witness or be a part of her early drama’s this morning..

“Just give me a minute” he grumbled burying his face into his pillow..

“It’s our anniversary today” She declared with a wide grin..

Meanwhile as soon as her words reached Aldrin’s ears, his eyes shot open immediately

He heard her fading footsteps and few seconds later, she was headed back to him once again, she plopped herself to the side of the bed placing two large red gift boxes next to him..

“Happy anniversary honey”

Aldrin sat up from the bed with a small smile, his eyes fell on the boxes for a moment before it settled back on Anita’s face..

“I got you the best gifts I could find…” She beamed at him nudging the box to him..

A wide grin smeared on his face which froze the moment he heard her next question..

“So what did you get for me? I can’t wait to see it”

A knock came on the door at that moment which he was grateful for..

“Ma’am old Mrs has requested your presence” A servant at the door relayed to her..

Anita stood up at once, she leaned back down to Aldrin and kissed his cheek..

“I’ll be back soon.. and when I get back my gift should be ready alright?”

Aldrin managed to give a nod to her, he watched her back moving out of the room in a hurry when she reached the door, she turned back to him again..

“I really can’t wait to see what you got for me.. I’m so excited” She blew a kiss to him and left the room..

As soon as she was gone, Aldrin released the breath that he had been holding for quite sometime now..

He was doomed! how could he forget the one most important day in their lives? now he understood all those hints Anita had been giving to him the previous days..

“I have to get something, anything!”

He scurried out of the bed and went out of the room, luckily for him, he caught Becky who was sneaking her way back into her room..

“There you are!”

Becky’s back froze hearing the voice behind her, her black stilettos which she had pulled off earlier dropped to the ground, still in shock, she turned around to meet her uncle’s questioning gaze..

“I’ll pretend I didn’t just see you sneaking in and in return you’ll do something for me”

Becky’s brows arched, what could be wrong with him? and why was he sweating so much this early? did he go for a run?

“Are you alright uncle?”

Aldrin dabbed the sleeves of his blue pajamas over his forehead..

“Do I look alright to you?.. fine! I’ll tell you.. today is I and Anita’s wedding anniversary”

Her hands went over her chest already aware of where this was going..

“And let me guess.. you forgot?”

“Wow.. you’re quite smart, but the point is I don’t know how it escaped my mind.. and now she got some gifts for me and if I don’t give her one… then…”

“Then?” Becky curiously asked.

Aldrin drew in a sharp breath “She’ll kill me..”

She couldn’t help but chuckle hard at his plight, his expression was really funny, he wasn’t wrong in a way..

In as much as Anita loved her husband dearly, she could still teach him a lesson or two..

“What do you want to get for her? I can help you get it” She offered…

“She already has everything.. what more could she want? I really don’t understand women sometimes” he murmured with a slumped shoulder..
