Chapter 51: It Sounds like Shiyao
“You are nice, but I never like you.”
Ji Manqing approached Shiyao to look at her fair-skinned face.
“I hate you, all the time, not to mention you took the man I love. Shiyao, you are born bitchy like your mother, a home wrecker.”
For her excellent grades, good appearance and nice personality, Shiyao had been recognized as the campus queen for four years through college.
Finally, Ji Manqing mustered the courage to express herself to Li Sicheng, who was then a senior to her, but was told that he had a girlfriend named Shiyao.
Although heartbroken, Ji Manqing gave him her best wishes.
If Shiyao was not assertive, and their relationship was improving, how could she have the opportunity to be together with Li Sicheng?
Feeling the sound of something sharp, Shiyao suddenly tensed up. Although she was very angry with Ji Manqing for insulting her mother, her senses told her that it was not the time to start a fight. In view of Ji’s drunken performance, she’d better wait for help than provoking Ji Manqing.
Who was gonna save her? Her phone was missing, while You Ze was probably having sex with another woman.
Shiyao wanted to cry, and she felt so aggrieved for the first time.
“Your face is your fortune. I’m gonna scratch your face so you can’t seduce men anymore.”
“Help!”
Shiyao hurriedly turned her face to hide in the corner.
“Eh? Are you afraid?”
Ji Manqing snickered, gently rubbing the cold blade back and forth against Shiyao’s face. Shiyao broke out in a cold sweat, short of breath.
“You’re waiting for someone to help you?”
Ji Manqing sneered, “Stop daydreaming. No one will come to this place of wilderness.”
“Don’t forget that a life must pay for a life. Even if you don’t care about yours, you have a sister!”
Shiyao said leisurely. She remembered Ji Manqing had a much younger sister, who was born when they were in college. Ji Manqing loved her very much, and often saved money to buy things for her sister.
The smile faded from Ji Manqing’s face. The only person she cared about was her sister, and her biggest dream, other than marrying into a wealthy family, was to get her sister out of that awkward family and give her a normal life she deserved as a child.
“There are cameras outside the hotel. You asked your sister to lead me here. If I am missing, they’ll find her sooner or later.”
Shiyao sniffed, “Let me go now, and I’ll forgive you, give you a sum of money and enable you to start a new life far away with your sister.”
“You give me money? Are you kidding?”
Ji Manqing knew Shiyao’s family, which could just afford the life of her mother and her, was not rich.
“Don’t forget that I’m a member of Qin’s. Even if Qin Wen tries to kill me, grandpa loves me. As long as I ask, he won’t refuse. On the contrary, if you hurt me, my grandpa is going to make you pay the price. You know his power.”
Ji Manqing froze. Shiyao was right. Although Qin Wen promised her a sum of money, she couldn’t pull her sister into trouble.
“Give me some time.”
As the alcohol was creeping up into her head, Ji Manqing’s eyes kept closing.
“Ok, don’t hesitate to tell me about anything else you want.”
Ji Manqing’s temporary calmness gradually steadied Shiyao’s voice.
The window was clanking in the wind. It was so cold that Shiyao got goose bumps all over. Ji Manqing fell into a deep sleep on the sofa.
“Alas, it’s necessary to check the lunar calendar (a calendar with daily auspicious and inauspicious events) before going out.”
Shiyao struggled to move her arms, but they were numb. She suddenly sneezed. Her ankles also ached badly and might be swollen.
Shiyao left her feet alone, praying Ji Manqing would wake up soon, and release her after being convinced.
With the hotel’s entrance completely covered by cameras, You Ze watched Shiyao leave with a girl, cross the street and disappear into the darkness.
“Right there.”
You Ze called all his men back and ordered them to search the apartments one by one. The silent dawn was suddenly awakened by light.
Dogs’ barking and inhabitants’ loud curses broke the silence of the night. Shiyao roused herself.
‘Is someone coming to save me?’
You Ze picked up a woman’s cell phone, which had broken into two pieces. It was Shiyao’s.
“Move on!”
‘Hope she’s well…’
You Ze put the phone in his pocket, and joined the search.
This was a shabby block which was densely populated and most of the residents here were low-class unemployed men and gamblers. They not only refused to cooperate, but also wanted to make trouble.
“Tell them if they cooperate, the demolition will soon begin on this area.”
You Ze couldn’t feel any worse about the constant curses, and his worry turned into anxiety.
Zhong Yi followed You Ze in silence, calculating the numbers in his head.
‘How much money will You Ze lose? Men who love beauties rather than gold are definitely the most attractive.’
So, Zhong Yi quickened his pace to search. If he found Shiyao first, he could make a killing!
As the knock on the door was getting closer, Shiyao’s nerves were on edge. But Ji Manqing remained in deep sleep, no matter how hard Shiyao tried to wake her.
“I’m here! Help me!”
Shiyao screamed with all her might.
“It sounds like Shiyao!”
Zhong Yi pricked up his ears and carefully went forward following the direction of the sound.
Ji Manqing moved, overwhelmed by an upset stomach. She was roused by the chaos outside.
“Shut up!”
Ji Manqing took a knife, focusing on the light outside the window. She looked out and saw many figures moving around in search of something.
“You called them?”
Ji Manqing snapped.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“No, I don’t. How can I ask someone for help like this?”
Shiyao smiled innocently. Whoever got her out of here was worth praising.
“Shush, shut your mouth!”
Ji Manqing ruthlessly interrupted Shiyao. In this place with a large number of mixed inhabitants, it was not unusual for someone to get in trouble with the police.
It was clear that she couldn’t let anyone find Shiyao. So, Ji Manqing took a rag from the table and stuffed it into Shiyao’s mouth.
“Pooh!”
There was a disgusting odor. Shiyao refrained from vomiting, wriggling around to defend.
“Help! Help me!”
