Chapter 40: You Seem to Have Complaints about My Wife
Song Meirong came up.
“Who are you, you ill-bred girl?”
Song Meirong looked dignified, with an air of a hostess. The crowd quickly went quiet and dared not make a sound.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Oh. I was wondering who it was. It’s you, our second lady.”
The people present, especially Shiyao, gasped, having no idea what Song Meirong was gonna do.
“Why have I never heard of her?”
There were three girls in Qin’s family. Qin Ran, the eldest daughter of Qin Shaofeng, seldom showed up because of her poor health, and was said to have already married abroad. Only Qin Wen and Qin Yu had been active in public. Furthermore, Qin Yu was young and at school. So “Miss Qin” was always acknowledged to be Qin Wen.
“You don’t admit stealing Wenwen’s wallet. Worse still, you have slopped the wine all over her in front of so many people. Is that how your competent mother taught you?”
Song Meirong’s voice was tepid, but was really chilling to Shiyao.
“But it’s quite normal. She had once seduced others’ husband. It’s not surprising that her daughter stole others’ wallet, is it, Shiyao?”
The crowd was surprised. This “second lady” surnamed Shi instead of Qin was an illegitimate child. As wealthy families attached great importance to clear reputation, even though unfaithful men and illegitimate children were not uncommon in those families, none of them could be showed in public.
Therefore, Shiyao was so shameless that she dared to come to old Qin’s birthday party.
Laughter began to run through the crowd. Song Meirong said a lot, but Shiyao didn’t hear a word.
She was hesitating about which wine she should throw at Song Meirong, the red one or blue one?
“If you don’t like me, just kick me out. Once Grandpa asks, I don’t mind playing what you said to him.”
Shiyao raised the recording pen in her hand smiling. Song Meirong’s facial expression instantly changed.
She knew that there was a steady place in old Qin’s heart for Shiyao.
“So what? Isn’t it true that you poured all the wine on Wenwen?”
“Wenwen, how much is your dress?”
Qin Wen paused and shouted at Shiyao when seeing her humble dress.
“16 million yuan. You ruined it. Pay for it and I’ll forgive you.”
“How come your dress is ruined?”
Shiyao knotted her delicate eyebrows, clenched the gift for Grandpa and retorted puckering her lips.
“Hum. Mistresses bear bitches. You have the guts to make trouble here? Unfortunately, rags are born rags, and they’ll never become riches.”
The second Mrs. Qin spat with disgust. Shiyao suddenly raised her hand holding a glass and poured the wine over the head of the second Mrs. Qin.
Her fine makeup was instantly ruined. Qin Yu hurriedly handed her a handkerchief.
“Pardon?”
Shiyao approached slowly, staring at the second Mrs. Qin’s face, as if she would rip her mouth next second.
“You dare to touch her again?”
In anger, Qin Wen came to block Shiyao and held her right hand high.
“Well. If I don’t teach you a lesson, you really don’t know who the master here is!”
Without her height, Shiyao consciously flinched and ended up falling into a broad chest.
“You idiot,” You Ze said without emotion. Shiyao was puzzled, not knowing that he was on the edge of anger.
“You… Mr. You.”
Shiyao dazedly looked at You Ze, his light blue suit, handsome and cool face, as if in a dream.
The presence of You Ze scared Song Meirong speechless. She had seen You Ze and old Qin talking at home before, and knew his status well.
Qin Wen had heard a little about You Ze. Facing such an outstanding man, she quickly hid her arrogance and looked at Shiyao innocently.
“Sister, why did you do this?”
Shiyao sneered. This was the first time in her life she heard Qin Wen call her sister, but it was on such an occasion.
“This is the birthday party you prepare for Grandpa?”
You Ze released Shiyao and looked around. The lookers-on soon dispersed.
“Hum. That’s a quick switch.”
Shiyao muttered sarcastically. Song Meirong smiled awkwardly, winking at the second Mrs. Qin.
“Sorry to bother you. It’s so rude of my daughter to create a disturbance on purpose. We’ll discipline her.”
“Yes, look at us. She made it all!”
Although the second Mrs. Qin didn’t know You Ze, she understood Song Meirong’s hint and knew that You Ze was not the one to be trifled with.
Shiyao glared at them, as if facing a group of stupid and boring idiots asking for trouble.
“I created a disturbance on purpose? Mrs. Qin, you can’t speak without thinking.”
Song Meirong looked pale and helplessly looked at Shiyao.
“Xiaoyao, I know you don’t like me. But today is your grandpa’s birthday. Can you please stop messing around?”
Shiyao was filled with anger, almost exploding in situ at the sight of the hypocritical Qins.
Qin Shaofeng and his brother heard the noise and came over. They froze when seeing You Ze.
“Mr. You.”
Seeing how messy Qin Wen and her mother were, Qin Shaofeng couldn’t help yelling at them.
“How can you make such a big mess in public?”
Seeing the rage of Shiyao, Qin Shaofeng guessed out what happened and whispered an apology to You Ze.
“Sorry to show you my naive daughter. I will discipline her more.”
Hearing Qin Shaofeng’s words, Shiyao argued before You Ze could speak out.
“My father is dead. Stop the playacting here!”
Though embarrassed, Qin Shaofeng acted like a helpless and sad father having a rebellious child, constantly persuading Shiyao.
You Ze looked at the hypocritical Qins, his remaining patience dissipating slowly.
“You seem to have complaints about my wife?”
You Ze asked in a low voice, staring icily at the crowd and holding Shiyao in his arms.
The people present seemed to freeze, just as You Ze finished. Qin Shaofeng pretended to be calm, as if You Ze were joking.
Not only the Qins, but all the guests didn’t believe Shiyao was Mrs. You. As the only son of You’s family, it was impossible for You Ze to get married without any news coming out.
“You think she needs to pretend to be Mrs. You?”
You Ze took off his suit and put it on Shiyao, and then gently held her in his arms. Qin Shaofeng and Song Meirong looked at each other, upset.
“Of course not! Yaoyao, you are my daughter. How could you not tell me you get married with Mr. You?” Qin Shaofeng glared at Shiyao.
“Yeah, girl, why don’t you tell us? We are your family, not outsiders.”
