Chapter 20: How Came She Smelt A Conspiracy
All of a sudden, a mobile phone dinged, which was particularly clear in the closed toilet.
Shiyao fished out her phone and found that she was mentioned in WeChat group. She clicked open the group and was stunned, then laughed.
Upon leaving, Shiyao glanced at Ji Manqing, “I suggest you take a look at the group chat before bragging. Tut-tut! What a real slap in the face.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
With that, she left the toilet.
And then Ji Manqing was out of the office all afternoon. According to colleagues, Ji Manqing saw the message and went to vice president, who was so tough on her that Ji Manqing wept with anger and went home.
It was really pleasant news for Shiyao!
Shiyao had prepared to fly domestic lines, while the next day, the colleague who slandered her with Ji Manqing clarified that she didn’t steal anything, and the whole thing was directed by Ji Manqing.
Then the company revoked the punishment of points deduction to her, let alone transferring her to the domestic routes.
Shiyao was somewhat surprised, but then felt something was wrong.
Since Ji Manqing had made a deal with Vice President Lin, he couldn’t possibly give that punishment to Ji Manqing or investigate the stealing clarifying for Shiyao.
She finally thought of You Ze.
“It must be You Ze. As the CEO of the company, he has more power than vice president.”
Shiyao never thought You Ze would help her, and then thought of scolding him yesterday on the phone, she really wanted to press rewind to have a nice talk with him.
Staying in bed tossing and turning for a long time, she decided to send You Ze a message: Mr. You, thanks for your help. Sorry I was grumpy yesterday. Hope you don’t mind.
I’m free on Thursday; Could I make it up to you by inviting you for dinner?
The texts all went unanswered.
The phone slipped out of her aching hands and smashed into her face, which was so painful that she gasped, and then she took the phone to check it, but nervously found there was still no reply.
‘He must be angry.’
On Thursday, she sent him a few more messages offering a sincere apology, but still not getting any reply. Instead, her mother called and asked her to come back for dinner if she was off.
Shiyao was curious, “Mom, how do you know I’m off today?”
“You told me, but you forget!”
Without arguing with her mother, Shiyao went to pack her things. When she arrived home, it was nearly 5pm.
Her mother was in an especially good mood and asked her to freshen up for dinner later.
Shiyao’s first reaction was that her mother was arranging a blind date for her, and she quickly said, “Mom, I go well with the man who was here last time, and we’re going to know each other better.”
“Seriously?”
Seeing Shiyao nodding, her mother beamed, and thought that it was even more necessary to go to the dinner, “I’m just taking you to dinner, definitely not a blind date. Trust me!”
Shiyao looked at her mother, obvious suspicion on her face.
‘Why is mom smiling so happily?’ Besides, how came she smelt a conspiracy?
Her mother, who was always mean, bought her a Givenchy’s dress, and then pulled her to the salon, which made Shiyao feel more uneasy.
It was 7pm, Shiyao and her mother appeared at the midtown Jinling Hotel.
“Mom, are we having dinner with grandfather?” the fancy hotel reminded her of Qin family. “Don’t you feel this is too much?”
After entering a private room, she found herself wrong.
There were only two people in the luxurious room. The granny at the table was in her sixties, white-haired but energetic, with a particularly amiable smile and a butler standing nearby.
“Hello, Xiaoqing.”
Though granny was talking to Shiyao’s mother, her eyes were lingering on Shiyao, and the longer she looked, the more likes in her eyes, which made Shiyao a bit uneasy.
Shiyao’s mother smiled, “Aunt Jiang, this is my daughter Shiyao.”
Shiyao greeted politely, “Nice to meet you, granny.”
“Me too, Yaoyao, come sit!” Granny was much happier, waving Shiyao over.
