Chapter 112 Director’s Having Menses

From that day on, Sarah never saw Andrew.

Even in the office, she hardly saw Andrew’s image.

Though her demands were somewhat harsh, in view of the future and for the sake of the child, she had

to do this.

She could only take it as Andrew agreed.

Otherwise, why wasn’t he back at the Bask residences?

These few days were very peaceful.

She could toss and turn as she liked on the large bed.

At night, after Sarah showered, she was about to apply some lotion to moisturize her skin when the

phone rang. She was suspicious and it was an unfamiliar number.

“Hello?”

She asked curiously as she gripped the phone between her ear and shoulder. The snow while lotion

was on her palm and about to apply on her skin…

The caller’s voice made her freeze in place and she asked softly, “Why, It’s you.”

Matthew called her.

The magnetic voice transcended space and through the airwaves, “You went back already?”

He sounded angry.

Sarah now remembered that he said that he would look for her three days after that incident. Now that

she was back, he made the trip for nothing.

From the voice, he sounded unsettled.

“Yes, I left earlier by two to three days.”

She pursed her lips and turned on the speakerphone and continued to apply the lotion.

Matthew’s voice filled up the entire room, “Why didn’t you tell me? I said that after three days I’ll go

back with you. You disregarded what I said?”

Sarah patted her face with the lotion and massaged her face in front of the mirror, “I’m sorry, I really

forgot, I’m already back, you don’t have to wait for me.”

“What are you doing?” The voice was very watchful.

“Applying moisturizer, I just showered,” Sarah answered him truthfully.

What was he thinking?

On the other side his heart just sank like a heavy rock and the tightened jaw began to relax.

The phone call became silent.

When there wasn’t any sound, Sarah thought that he had hung up, “Hello, hello? No one? I’ll hang up if

there isn’t anything else.”

“I’m here.” He said immediately.

Sarah already made a plan. Every day she’ll sleep before eight and wake up at seven. Early to bed and

rise early and that will benefit the baby’s health.

But there was something that Sarah wanted to ask Matthew, “Strange, how do you know my number?”

This number was given to her by Andrew. Who could’ve given him the number? How did he get this

number?

“Anne gave it to me.” He answered without hesitation.

Sarah was surprised, this girl was brave. Isn’t she worried that Andrew will get even with her?

After applying the moisturizer, the call remained silent and Sarah didn’t bother to end the call. She just

continued to do her chores.

Brush her hair, arrange her blanket, wander about, a word or two to herself.

Sarah was curious and asked, “Don’t you have to pay for the call? Hang up if you don’t have anything

to say.”

“No.” The word come hurriedly and explained, “Can’t I afford this money? I don’t want quietness, I just

want to listen to your voice, only then will I feel that you are by my side. Sarah, don’t hang up.”

The voice was gentle with a hint of begging. It wasn’t the violence like during the day. In contrast, it was

very gentle.

On his end, he pursed his thin lips. His handsome eyes harbored high hopes. It was a luxury to him.

Sarah frowned when she heard his words. What nonsense was he saying!

“No, I need to sleep, I have to hang up. Oh yes, don’t call this number unless there is something

urgent… he’ll get upset.”

She kept using that instructive voice although she is only a year older than him.

After Sarah finished, she reflected on her tone and didn’t think that it was inappropriate. She ended the

call.

She felt uneasy and turned off the phone.

What she did was correct as he called and gave up after getting a tone indicating that her phone had

powered off.

Matthew looked at the recorded call and hesitated before opening it. The woman’s warm and gentle

voice was replayed entirely.

His heart started to calm down with her voice and only then did he feel more relaxed.

The next day.

When Sarah came to the office and before she entered the main door, she saw Andrew walking in. He

was early, it was barely eight o’clock.

She followed. It had been days since she saw him. It would take a while if she waited for the next lift so,

in the interest of time, she ran over to take the same lift as him.

She wore high heels, there were others around her and she didn’t dare to run too fast, she just

quickened her pace.

But her 1.6m height was no match for the legs of his 1.8m height. Just as she entered the main door,

she saw Andrew and Sandy as the door closed. They exchanged looks and Sandy understood. He

waited at the lift for Sarah.

“Close the door.”

He ordered.

“Director, Missus is here, shall we wait?” Sandy thought that he didn’t see her and smiled as he said.

“Close the door.”

This time, he glared and forced him. Sandy was terrified till his hand trembled and pressed the close

button.

Sarah was glad that she had made it and almost stepped into the lift. Her high heel was about to step

in and the doors closed. She even looked at the cold expression on his face and the look of scorn for

her!

“What’s wrong with him?” Why was he so ruthless?

Didn’t he see that she was there?

Three question marks were over her head. Sarah really didn’t know where she had offended him.

Now she could only wait for the next lift.

“I heard that the Director is having his menses. The HR department was scolded almost ten times by

him, how pitiful.”

“Oh yes, yes, I heard it as well. His menses is intense and vicious. He must be furious, who was

responsible for it?”

“Who knows? I heard that during a meeting, one of the director’s phone wasn’t in silent mode and he

immediately distributed his shares. What a pity!”

“It’s rumored that he begged and said that he had many dependents, he can’t lose this job. In the end,

“What happened?”

Sarah stood by the side and heard what the three to four co-workers said and had deep thoughts. She

felt a chill come over her. She didn’t think that Andrew can also have menses! And it can be so

frightening!
