Body Missing
A day before the night of the full moon.
Damien was simply frustrated, he had been trying to find a chance to steal the moonstone away but then the moonstone was the most precious jewel in the pack.
There was simply no way that he would be able to steal it away without causing a ruckus. The guards guarding the moonstone were so much that it would be found out that there was a breach.
There was also the technology protecting the moonstone. The only one time he had managed to get close to the moon stone was that morning but he only got past the guards without creating an alarm but he was not able to get the moonstone.
To get the moonstone, different codes and passwords were needed and he knew none of it.
He sighed heavily, pacing around in his room. There was only one night to the full moon, there was only one night to the death of the woman he loved and yet he could not find a way to stop it yet.
He was starting to get really anxious but his anxiety was solving nothing. Damien knew that he had to find another way as soon as possible, he had to look for a way to stop her apart from stealing the moon stone away.
“Yes” he almost jumped in the air as a thought hit him.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
There was no reason for him to steal the moonstone anymore. There was definitely something easier to steal away.
He smirked.
“I am never going to let you kill yourself”
*
The night of the full moon.
The sky was illuminated beautifully by the full moon that shone brightly and radiated its soft light over the wolf lands.
“Tonight is the night. Are you really sure you want to lose yourself and the baby inside of you?” Clarissa asked and Hazel nodded her head.
“It’s fine. I… Just do what I asked you to do for me, okay? Just do it and I will rest in peace forever” Hazel replied and Clarissa sighed.
“Hazel, you do realize that I have found my mate?”
“Your mate?” Hazel’s eyes widened and Clarissa slowly nodded.
“What?! You should have told me about this earlier, Clarissa. I would have… I would have searched for another lady. What do… Who do I leave Axel and Sana for?”
“My mate… he rejected me” she slowly mumbled.
“Rejected you?” Hazel’s words came out in a slow fashion.
Clarissa nodded in affirmation.
“You heard that right” she sighed.
“I… I am sorry about that”
“You don’t have to get sorry for me at all” Clarissa replied after all she found Hazel’s situation much more pitiful than her own situation.
“Are you ready?” The voice of the wolf doctor came from outside of the room.
“I am ready. I would be out soon” Hazel replied back and looked towards Clarissa.
“Clarissa, it’s… It’s time already. Look, I am very sorry that your mate rejected you but honestly, it would be a lie if I say that’s not a relief to me. Please” she took her hands in her own hands and gave it a soft squeeze.
“Please, take care of Axel and Sana for me” her eyes were starting to get wet again but she pushed back the tears and pulled Clarissa into a hug.
Clarissa tightened her own arms around Hazel too, hugging her tightly. The both of them shut their eyes, remaining in the hug for long moments.
“Take care of yourself too” Hazel whispered to Clarissa.
Clarissa’s eyes filled and she held even tighter onto Hazel like she was unwilling to let go of her.
“Am I supposed to tell you to take care of yourself in death?” She asked, her voice cracking.
“I will anyways. In death, I will take care of myself as long as you take care of yourself, Axel and Sana”
Slowly, Hazel pulled away from the hug and the two lowered their head not wanting the other to see the tears in their eyes.
“I… I guess it’s tonight… The night I will leave this life”
“You know you could still change your mind, right?” Clarissa held her hands.
“I know but I won’t” she shook her head.
“I… I would really love to see Axel alive but I would be dead” her voice cracked the more with tears and Clarissa pulled her into another hug.
“You are really brave, the bravest I have ever seen” She mumbled into her ears.
“The white wolves would definitely miss you. I am sure they don’t want this happening”
Hazel pulled away from the hug and wiped her face with the back of her hands.
“When I lose my life in order to bring back the Alpha of the Dark Wolf Pack, I think the dark wolves would eventually learn that love can exist between us all and finally, the white wolves would be at peace. As…. As the chosen white wolf, I guess this is indeed the best sacrifice I can make for the ones I have come to love and the people I was born to love” she replied and just then a knock came on the door.
It was unnecessary to tell that it was the wolf doctor.
Hazel wiped her tears one more time and forced out a smile.
“I am coming right out” she said, raising her voice a little before looking towards Clarissa.
“Keep Sana inside while the whole thing goes on. Make sure she sees nothing of it. Her memories would be wiped soon anyways”
“I have to leave now” she added and began walking towards the door.
She walked out of the room and the wolf doctor was right there at the door.
“Mommy” she heard that familiar, tiny voice.
“Sana” she forced a cheerful smile to her lips as the girl ran up to her.
Hazel crouched down to get down to the height of her.
“Mommy, what’s going on? Why does everyone look gloomy? Is Daddy not going to come back?”
“Daddy is going to come back tonight and no one is looking so gloomy. It must be in your imagination” she said to the little girl and gently ruffled her hair before pulling her into a tight hug which was most probably going to be the last hug that she would have with her.
Tears streamed down the cheeks of Hazel as that thought ran through her mind. After a long while, she let go of the little girl and kissed her forehead.
“Mommy would be back soon. Stay in, alright?”
Sana nodded obediently and watched Hazel walk away with the wolf doctor.
Hazel got to the living room and the eyes of Damien and Davis fell on her.
“You are really doing it?” Davis asked.
“You do not need to ask that anymore. I am doing it” she was firm but Damien said not a word.
Hazel looked at him and their eyes met. She walked up to him and bowed deeply in front of him.
“Thank you for everything you did for me. Thank you so much”
Damien finally got up from the chair he was seated on and hugged her tightly. Hazel let more tears drop from her eyes as he hugged her.
“We do not have so much time. The ritual would take a while and we have to finish it up before the sun will rise” the wolf doctor reminded and Hazel pulled away from the hug and flashed a forced smile at Damien too.
She walked out of the house with the wolf doctor. They both got into a car and the driver drove off, not needing to be told where they were going to.
The drive continued for a fairly long time until they got to a spot where the moon seemed to be shining on directly.
The wolf doctor and Hazel both stepped down from the car and the wolf doctor nodded Hazel towards a chair in the open space.
Hazel could see a huge altar and one small one. She knew that she would be on one of the altars very soon and her blood would be drained out of her.
She lowered her head once more and squeezed her eyes shut.
“You still have this last chance to change your mind” the wolf doctor said.
“I don’t want to… I am not changing my mind”
The wolf doctor sighed.
“Alright then”
In a few minutes, a car stopped there and Davis alighted from it first, followed by some two others. The moon stone was carefully wrapped in a blanket and was carried by the two others.
“Place it there” the wolf doctor pointed towards the middle of both altars.
The two did as they were told.
“The only thing we are waiting for now is the body of Axel” the wolf doctor mumbled and it took some time before a car wheeled in.
Hazel threw her head backwards as she realized that her death was finally here. The door of the car opened but only three panicky men alighted from the car.
“The body of Alpha Axel is missing!”
