Chapter 28
Chapter twenty eight
“Mia, get dressed. We’re going out.” Lian announced. Mia’s eyes widened. “Really? A date?” She enquired, looking so excited. Lian smiled at her reaction and nodded gently. “Make sure you’re done in an hour.”
“I’ll be done in thirty minutes.” She replied, getting off the bed and rushing into the bathroom to wash up.
Mia frowned when Lian pulled over at the hospital where Axel was admitted. She had the thoughts that he might be heading to the hospital but she shook the thought off. He had said they were going on a date.
“I thought you said it was a date.” She protested. Lian laughed and pinched her cheek playfully. “Take it easy young woman.”
“Mia, how about we go on a vacation to Paris? I really want to make up to you two for staying away for a month.” Axel said.
“I’d like to… but,” Mia paused and looked at Lian, then shifted her gaze to Jabi. “There’s an issue on ground. An urgent one.”
Axel frowned. “What issue?”
“I’ll explain later. We can go on the vacation some other time.” Jabi cut in.
“Alright. We’ll get going now. Once you get discharged, you two should go back to the school pack. That’s the only way for you to be safe; I’ve called your parents also.” Lian stated firmly.

“What’s going on?” Mia asked, looking perplexed. “Nothing.” Lian replied simply, as he strapped on a backpack.
“Then why are you buckling up?” She arched a brow, really clueless about the situation.
“We are going hiking.” Lian smiled, tauntfully.
“What?!” Mia exclaimed. “Hiking was the date?” She enquired in surprise.
“Why? It’s nice actually. We’ll be going mountain hiking. It’s helps to secure your heart health and you shifted just recently, you need to train your breaths.”
Mia closed her eyes, not wanting to believe the current matter. Lian laughed gently and ignored her reaction. Then he helped her buckle up, and he held her hand. “Let’s go hiking!” He said excitedly with a grin which infuriated Mia.
She was expecting something grand, romantic and sweet. Who knows? Hiking might turn out sweet too.
After walking up for an hour, Mia stopped, panting and breathing heavily. “That’s enough. Let’s go back down.” She managed to say lazily and turned around to go down. Lian held her back. “We still have two more hours to go. Endure.” He regarded warningly, handing out a bottle of water. They weren’t the only ones hiking. There were other families, friends and couples who also hiked.
Mia collected the bottle and gulped down the water in a go, then wiped her wet lips. Unanticipatedly, she found Lian kissing her slightly and slowly. It took a few seconds, then he broke it.
“That should energize you. Let’s go.” He said and flashed a beaming smile. The smile got to Mia and her face lightened up immediately. She smiled back and took his hand, then resumed walking up. Indeed, she was energized.
Lian took the lead while she trailed behind, struggling to walk up the mountains. Unexpectedly, she tripped and fell. Lian turned around immediately. “Hey, are you okay?” His tone and was full of concern as he approached her. She managed to sit up on her own, whimpering in pain. “I think I sprained my left ankle.”
Lian bent to the ground level and held her left leg up. “Let’s see.” He muttered and examined the ankle, which was beginning to turn red. “It looks pretty okay but I think it’ll swell up soon. I’ll apply some ointment.” He unstrapped his backpack and opened it, then brought out a first aid kit.
Mia felt his touch tingling as he rubbed on her ointed ankle gently, with so much care.
He packed up after he was done. “Okay… let’s go.” He said and stretched out a hand to help her up. “Excuse me? We’re still walking up there? Lian… let’s just go back. Let’s eat something delicious and call it a day. We can watch some open concert also.” She whined sincerely.
Lian leaned in and brought his face so close to hers, making her heart race. “I’m sorry, but we can do those later.” He said to her with a smile.
Mia frowned. *He doesn’t get tired?*
After taking more steps up, they reached the peak of the mountain. “We are here.” He announced and Mia who was panting unbelievably, looked up. Fresh, cool breeze blew through her the moment she stood upright.
“Oh my…” She muttered and left her mouth open in awe. She subconsciously dropped the backpack she was carrying and stepped forward a little. “The view is… I mean this place is… fucking awesome.” She commended as her face brightened up.
She felt like she was above the earth because she could practically see everything from up there. There were many more mountains ahead, surrounded with giant trees and beautiful flowers. It was more like a mixture of botany and horticulture. The view was something that she could never imagine in this life, and not even in the next.
Lian smiled as he felt accomplished and moved closer to her. He caught her unawares and hugged her from behind, sliding his hands around her tiny waist. “The view is just as beautiful as you are.” He whispered in her ears, sending cold chills down her spine.
It took a while before she spoke. “You brought me here intentionally, didn’t you?” She also said in a whisper, as if they didn’t want a third party to hear. Funnily enough, no third party existed at the peak of the mountain. Most of the other hikers gave up on getting to peak because they didn’t find it easy to do so.
Lian made a ‘hm’ sound as a ‘yes’ to her question. “Having the view to my eyes alone might be quite selfish, so I decided to bring you along.” He stated and buried his face in her neck, inhaling her scent. Her hair was bound up so it wasn’t an obstacle.
Mia made some slight movements. “You’ve been here before?” She asked, in a bit of surprise. Lian hummed a yes again and she asked further no questions about it.
He lifted his face and hugged her more tightly. She placed her hands on his strong arms and stroked them gently in an amorous manner.
After some minutes, Mia wriggled out of his now weak grip and turned around to face him.
She lifted her right palm to his cheek and caressed it, while smiling lovingly and staring into his eyes. “You might still see me as a child, but, I’ll turn eighteen next week.”
Lian smiled back and caressed her hair also. “Happy birthday in advance.” She didn’t give a reply and only bored her eyes into his. On impulse, she rose on her toes and kissed him for quite a while. Lian didn’t reciprocate. He observed the way she kissed him and realized it had a meaning, or a favour to it.
Mia withdrew. And now stared at him indifferently. *I was right. She has a favour to ask* Lian thought.
Mia tugged his shirt tightly. “You aren’t thinking of getting of rid of me, are you?”
Colour drained out of his face immediately and he went still.
“Let’s stay together, Julian.”
“Let’s stay together, Julian.” Mia murmured, with pleading, clear eyes.
Lian swallowed hard. He just got put on a tight spot. After bringing himself back together. He smiled assuringly. “Okay, if that’s what you want.”
Mia flashed an appreciative smile. “I want to fall in love with you over and over again, in my next life, the next after it, till eternity.”
Lian smiled faintly and brushed the strands of hair on her forehead aside. “Me too.”
Mia grinned like a child. “I feel like my heart is going to escape it’s place right now. I need to relieve myself.” She turned around without giving room for questions.
And suddenly…”Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!” She screamed loudly, scaring him a little. “Woahhhhh! Lian is mine now!!! This is so unbelievable!!!” Her voice disappeared into the deep and quiet forest and mountains in view.
Lian laughed amusingly, at her behavior. She turned around, grinning. “This really feels good.” She said in a manner that seemed like she was urging him to do the same.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
She continued after gathering a few energy. “To whoever is listening, I love Lian, and that will never chan–” She was abruptly interrupted by a hand that covered her mouth. It was Lian. “You’ll get your voice cracked. They don’t need to understand your feelings, as long as I do.” He enunciated and handed her a bottle of water.
Mia felt her heart skip a beat when she heard those words. *As long as I do…* They rang in her head.
“Mia?” A familiar voice called out in surprise and she turned around. “Alexander?”
