Chapter 128
The mention of the private enclosure made Jeffrey’s throat run dry. Thinking about how he could have Rachel’s delectable body entirely at his mercy, he was parched with lust.
His attempts to win her over these few years were to no avail, but this was his chance to have the woman he yearned for all to himself.
Jeffrey grew even more excited the more he thought about it.
“Ian, get this done right, and the villa in the western suburbs of Khoitwood will be yours.”
Ian was thrilled. Knowing that his added offer had paid off, he said, “Rest assured, Mr. Smith. I won’t let you down.”

Upstairs, Rachel and Shane had just signed the contract. They discussed the future prospects of traditional medicine before finally taking their leave.
Matthew exited the office and asked Rachel, “That’s it for today, right?”
Rachel was in a pleasant mood. Looking pleased, she said, “Yes. You did a great job today. I’ll treat you to a meal.”
Matthew’s performance today had more than exceeded her expectations.
His ingenious method of treating facial paralysis with rotten leaves yielded astounding results, and it won Shane over in a heartbeat. Otherwise, the renewal of their contract would’ve been impossible.
Chuckling, Matthew inquired, “That’s it? No other plans?”
Other plans? Rachel suddenly recalled the way he gulped in the office. Her expression darkened as she stared at him. “What other plans are you expecting?”
Matthew grinned. “Well, it’s about time for us to take the next step in our relationship now.”
Rachel furrowed her brows. “What steps are you talking about?”
“Perhaps holding hands, and kissing… We’ve been together for quite some time, but I haven’t even held your hand.”
Rachel flushed instantly. Couples normally held hands and kissed whenever it felt right, but why did it sound so improper when Matthew brought it up?
The way he enunciated “holding hands” and “kissing” sounded obscene.
Infuriated, she snapped, “What else do you want to do?”
Matthew was caught off guard by her response. Pondering her words, he thought she sounded like she was willing to satisfy any request he made.
Tempted, he began, “Actually, your body needs treatment. I don’t mind suffering for a bit by acting as a medicinal catalyst for you by spending the night together.”
Rachel gritted her teeth in a fit of rage. Matthew was perfect–he was talented, honest, competent, and reliable. But he was too much of a pervert. His mind was constantly filled with lewd thoughts.
She wanted to be with a man who loved her, not a man who loved her body. Her ethereal beauty had her accustomed to men staring at her on the streets since the age of 14 or 15, and she absolutely despised it.
Thus, she had learned to adopt an indifferent demeanor to keep men at bay. She eventually grew into her aloof and icy
self.
The way Matthew acted upset her.
“Matthew, I’m dating to marry. I’ve already announced our relationship at my mom’s birthday banquet. Can’t you take our relationship seriously?”
Matthew came to a halt. His smile vanished as he turned to look at Rachel solemnly.
“I’ve always been serious about our relationship.”
