Marry Ex’s Uncle After Divorcement By Jacqueline Chapter 472
Theresa gave a smile to calm herself down. “They’re at my aunt’s. They’re having a good time there. I’m not going to pick them up anytime soon since I’ve been busy.”
Charlie glanced down at his soup and put down his spoon with a grim face.
Theresa was a little scared. “Charlie…”
Charlie sighed in disappointment. “Am I not trustworthy at all in your eyes? Am I not qualified to see your children? I just want to see them. I mean no harm. You’ve been so good to Leonard and Ben and they love you. I wish I could do something for your children. Why won’t you even let me see them?”
Theresa felt aggrieved. How could she tell him that Leonard and Ben were her children?
Charlie remembered Sarah’s words and asked, “Are you hiding something from me?”
Under his questioning gaze, Theresa swallowed nervously. “Charlie, just give me some time,
okay? I’ll tell you everything when I figure things out.” She needed to figure out if she wanted to stay with him. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Charlie asked, “So you really are hiding something from me, aren’t you?” He was curious about
what kind of secrets her children had.
Theresa lowered her head to avoid his eyes. His eyes were so sharp like he could see right
through her. She bit her lip and muttered, “I don’t know how to tell you right now. Just give me
some time.”
Charlie stared at her. He knew she had suffered a lot and Jimmy had been a big influence on her,
so he tried to understand her as best he could, but now he hesitated since she wouldn’t be honest with him. He wondered if the woman in front of him was real and if she was really innocent in her marriage to Jimmy. Perhaps because of Sarah, he no longer trusted women completely and sometimes doubted himself. “Let’s eat.” He didn’t push her anymore.
After lunch, Charlie left without offering to give Theresa a ride. He was usually very gentle with
her but today he was cold.
Theresa knew he was unhappy. She was used to it. She and Old Mr. Calsis took the elevator downstairs. The Calsis family’s driver was waiting for them. She told Old Mr. Calsis, “Grandpa, go back first. I have something to do.” She wanted to go out for a walk.
Old Mr. Calsis reached out and stroked her hair. “Sarah, don’t be sad. I’ll teach Charlie a lesson.” He thought Theresa had been bullied by Charlie and he wanted to protect her.
Theresa giggled. “Thanks, Grandpa.” She just felt so tired and wanted to go for a walk. Maybe this way she could figure out if she wanted to stay with Charlie. After helping Old Mr. Calsis to the car, she took a taxi to Cristina’s office.
