I smirked as I watched Alexa nod with tears in her eyes, get on her knees, and said ‘Yes’ to me.
I felt a little bit guilty as I watched her tears flood her face, messing her look the more.
Before I got more guilt-filled and all, I quickly muttered an “It’s not my fault” in my head.
I mean…
We could have done things a lot more differently if she didn’t prove very difficult.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
We could have been already married by now if she gave in to me before.
I looked down at her figure still kneeling before me, my ring already slipped on her finger and groaned.
She was still crying out tears which I didn’t like.
I drew her to her feet and let her rise.
“Tsk, tsk.”
I clicked my tongue against the back of my teeth.
“Stop crying baby. You know I won’t hurt you.”
I said to her, wiping the tears off her face with my fingers, and watched her glare at me with nothing but hate in her eyes.
“I hate you.”
She teethed.
“I know… WIFE.”
I said, making sure to lay more than enough emphasis on ‘Wife’.
“But I’ll make your hate turn to love for me.”
“Never.”
She seethed and I gave a small, hard laugh.
“You know…”
I began, letting go of her and walking softly ahead to the pine trees that adorned the entrance to my house.
“I don’t get why you hate the idea of getting married to me, cause its nothing but good to you. Imagine getting married to me, managing the Green Empire together… Oh sorry. April has rights to some of it.”
I said with enough pride to share with up to 30 shameless people with no pride.
“Then you bloated with my baby inside of you…”
“Ughm… Boss?”
Someone called from behind me, but me going on and on about what I planned for our future… I didn’t reply or even turned around to know who was seeking me.
“… Giving birth to him/her, raising the child together and leaving a good legacy…”
“Ughm… Boss?”
Someone called again, but I didn’t reply.
“… Fortune and fame for our child when we eventually die.”
I continued not minding who tf was interrupting.
Then I turned to look at Alexa, but she wasn’t where I left her standing earlier.
I turned to Bob
“Where’s she?”
“Over there with the little kid.”
He replied and pointed at where Alexa was bent over her kid bro.
“Why did you not tell me she was gone and allowed me to talk to myself?”
I seethed.
“I tried to tell you.”
He said in defense.
He was right though.
Angry, I walked over to Alexa’s side.
“Hey.”
I called angrily, making Alexa and Jace look up at me.
“Why’d you leave where I left you?”
“My brother woke up, so I had to come to his side.”
She answered as gently as she could.
“I never gave you that permission.”
I spoke harshly, making her stare hard at me.
I put that look on my face and eyes that read ‘Dare me and watch your brother GO!’
I guess she saw it, relaxed the muscles on her face, and placed a smile on it instead.
Then she surprised me with what she said next.
“I’m sorry Anderson.”
I was lost for words and stared at her blankly.
“It’s OK. Come inside, I got a little something for you.”
“What’s happening to my brother?”
I heard her ask.
“He can come in with us if he wants to.”
I said and turned my back on them before going into my house.
I’ve been skipping work these days because of this female.
God help me!
“Alexa, I’m scared.”
Jace whispered into Alexa’s hearing alone.
“Why?”
Alexa asked concerned.
“I get this scary feeling around that guy. I didn’t know he was like this. The media displayed his character wrongly.”
“The media can’t be always right about people Jace.”
“I just found that out.”
Jace thinned his lips.
“We have to go in now, we don’t want to annoy him right?”
“What if he kills me? I saw the guy that put me on this bed put a knife in his pocket before he knocked me out.”
Alexa sighed before raising her fingers to show Jace the ring on one of them.
“Is this what I think it is?”
Jace asked and Alexa nodded.
“Oh no.”
“So you see Jace, he is never gonna hurt you so long this ring is on my finger.”
Alexa faked a smile and gave it to him.
“I’m so sorry Lexie.”
“It’s OK. You’re not at fault.”
Alexa assured him.
They hugged before Jace allowed Alexa to bring him down from the bed and they walked into Anderson’s living room.
“Sit.”
Anderson commanded as soon as they came in and when he was sure they were settled in a seat, he stood up, walked to his room, and came down some moments later.
“Take this.”
He said, tossing her a package.
It landed right on her knees and Alexa picked it up.
“A… A phone?”
Alexa stuttered.
“Yeah. Happy engagement.”
Anderson said and flashed her a warm smile.
“Sorry, I can’t take this.”
Alexa said.
“Are you sure?”
Anderson frowned before dragging his gaze from her to Jace and back at her.
Alexa got the message and gritted.
“I changed my mind.”
Anderson smiled.
“Right choice.”
“You’re moving in here tomorrow.”
“Huh?”
Alexa asked shocked.
“Because you live in a dump… That’s way too low for my fiancee.”
Anderson replied.
“But I don’t wanna move in here.”
Alexa protested.
“You don’t have a choice.”
Anderson laughed.
At that, Alexa stood up angry.
“Using my brother as my weakness and your strength severally… Isn’t that too low? The kid is barely 9. Stop using him to blackmail me into doing your bidding. I have a choice you damn MF!”
“Tomorrow, pm… You and him. No clothes are needed. Just get the important stuff like pictures and books. I’ll take of caof of re oweawearrs.”
Anderson said, totally ignoring the ‘nonsense’ Alexa spitted earlier.
“Oh my God… I’m in deep trouble.”
Alexa muttered as she sank into the nearest chair as soon as Anderson left.
