Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

His Apology

“Well…. because you’re tapping your feet on the floor and I know that when you do that, it’s because you’re angry at something or someone…. so spill sis.” he said.

“Oh… it’s nothing brother. You just rest and don’t think about anything, okay?” she said, assuring her brother.

But hell no she wasn’t okay. The jerk she was about to do a fake wedding with just insulted her and called her a low life.

She felt if she was face to face with him, damn she would have given him a hot slap for saying such a mean and nasty thing to her.

What a jerk!

Meanwhile after the phone conversation Alexander had with Marissa, he was pissed as well.

“How dare she say those words to me? Doesn’t she know who I am?” he said to himself as he paced back and forth.

“Anyone who is with me, should count themselves lucky to have me, but how dare she say that I’m worthless and mean nothing to nobody. I have a very sexy and beautiful girlfriend who loves me as I love her. And I also have companies and houses and servants that obey my command. How am I worthless?” he asked himself.

He was silent for a while as he sat on his couch. Then he decided to call Anderson.

Anderson picked up the call.

“Hello.” Anderson answered.

“Do you know what that girl called me today?” he asked him.

“What is it again?” Anderson asked.

“She called me worthless and that I mean nothing to nobody! Can you imagine the guts she has to say such to me?” he said.

Anderson sighed on the phone.

“Aren’t you gonna say anything?” he asked him.

“What did you say to her?” Anderson asked.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“What did you say to her, Alexander?” Anderson asked.

“I…. um… called her a lowlife.” he replied

“So you pissed her off, didn’t you?” he said.

“Well…I didn’t do that intentionally, but I just felt that wasn’t an abuse.” Alexander said.

Anderson scoffed on the phone.

“Not an insult? Are you fucking kidding me right now? You called her a low life and you expect that she won’t be pissed at you for saying that? Damn man! You’ve got a lot of learning to do.” Anderson said.

Anderson’s exasperation was clear in his voice as he responded to Alexander’s explanation.

“Alexander, you’ve really put your foot in it this time. Calling her a lowlife is an insult, plain and simple. You need to apologize and make amends.”

Alexander sighed in frustration. He knew Anderson was right, but apologizing was not something that came easily to him.

“I’ll… think about it,” Alexander mumbled.

Anderson’s voice turned stern.

“No, you won’t just think about it. You will apologize, and you will do it sincerely. This fake marriage depends on both of you cooperating, and your behavior could jeopardize everything.”

Alexander knew Anderson was right, and deep down, he realized he needed to make amends if he wanted this arrangement to work.

But apologizing was a bitter pill to swallow for someone as prideful as him.

“And why am I the one to do the apologizing? After all she called me a worthless piece of shit that nobody wants.” he said.

“And you started it, I’m sure. You must have called her a low life before she flared up and called you that.” Anderson said.

“Wait a minute! Aren’t you supposed to take my side and not hers? Why are you supporting her when you should have just supported me?” he asked.

“Because I know you Alex. You like causing trouble and it just isn’t right. There’s one thing I know and it’s that Marissa looks like a decent girl because I have checked her records and realize that she has a brother whom she takes very good care of and works different jobs to provide for herself and her brother.

So she isn’t some girl who just wants to get money from you and all… she must have her reasons. So you need to apologize to her.” she said.

Anderson’s words struck a chord with Alexander, making him pause and reflect on his behavior.

“You’re right, Anderson. I need to own up to my mistakes and apologize to her. I shouldn’t have let my anger get the best of me.”

Anderson nodded, satisfied with Alexander’s response. “Good. It’s the right thing to do. Remember, this fake marriage is a delicate situation, and maintaining a civil relationship with Marissa is crucial.”

Alexander knew he had some damage control to do, and he agreed with Anderson’s advice.

“I’ll apologize to her and try to make amends,” he said, realizing that cooperating with Marissa was in his best interest, even if it meant swallowing his pride.

“But how am I gonna do it?” he asked.

“You know that I don’t apologize to anyone apart from Jessie.”

“I don’t know how you’re gonna do it Alex, but you figure it out.” Anderson said as he hung up.

“But-” Alex said, before Anderson cut the call.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Did he just cut the call on me?” he asked himself.

Alexander found himself frustrated as Anderson abruptly ended the call. He wasn’t accustomed to apologizing, and the thought of doing so left him feeling somewhat uneasy.

Nevertheless, he knew he had to make amends with Marissa to ensure the success of their fake marriage.

As he contemplated his next move, he realized he needed to come up with a sincere apology.

It wasn’t going to be easy, but he was determined to do it right and make things right with Marissa.

“How am I going to apologize to her?” He asked himself.

Just then, a message entered his phone and when he checked it, it was from Anderson telling him to ask her to meet him at a cafe and then he apologized for calling her a lowlife and he should try not to piss her off again.

Alexander sighed.
