When Edmond went to the company to retrieve his car, he coincidentally ran into Diane.
Ever since she had been kicked out of his car the last time, Diane had been unable to get in touch with Edmond. No matter how pitiful she acted, he wouldn't answer her calls.
Seeing the familiar sports car in the parking lot just now filled her with excitement. After waiting for so many days, she had finally caught sight of Edmond!
But after scouring the company premises, she couldn't find him anywhere.
Thinking of trying her luck with Alicia's Ferrari, she hunkered down, hoping for a chance encounter.
Not long into her wait, she spotted Edmond strolling towards the company entrance, hands in his pockets.
"Edmond!"
Diane's voice was loud, tinged with excitement and joy. Several people turned their heads, witnessing her excited run towards Edmond.
Knowing her boundaries well, she didn't rush into Edmond's embrace. She stopped about half a meter away from him, stood on her tiptoes, and revealed an expression of shy excitement, exuding an air of youthful flirtation.
Passersby couldn't help but steal a few extra glances.
As Alicia rode the elevator to her office, she overheard a few colleagues discussing.
"That couple at the entrance is quite the sight."
"And that seems to be our big boss's son. My goodness, he's really handsome! That trainee is cute too!"
"Wherever Mr. Agos stands, he's accompanied by beautiful women. After all, he's a playboy. Just think about the women he's been seen with before. They've all been perfect matches."
Standing in the corner of the elevator, Alicia suddenly spoke in a deep voice.
"Who are you talking about?"
The company employees were startled by the weightiness of her tone, and some even thought it was a ghost. When they turned to see who had spoken, they found it was Alicia, and their face turned even paler.
"Good morning, Ms. Casey..."
Alicia didn't seem to be in a good mood.
"What were you talking about?"
"Um, it's one of our company's trainees. She was talking to Mr. Agos downstairs, and she seemed quite shy."
"What did she say?"
"Well, we couldn't hear clearly, but we did catch the trainee calling Mr. Agos 'Edmond.'"
With just a few words, Alicia had already figured out who they were talking about.
While Alicia knew Edmond wasn't interested in women of different bust sizes like Diane, hearing about this incident still annoyed her.
She had parked her car a block away, deliberately leaving room for other women to get closer to Edmond.
That man truly was a flirt.
Going to work with a sense of irritation, Alicia transformed into a female devil during the meeting, reprimanding her employees.
A few secretaries, who had previously whispered dirty words about her, were left dumbfounded when they received their dismissal letters.
"Ms. Casey, what did we do wrong? Why are you suddenly letting us go?"
"Is this because the cooperation project with the AQ Group didn't go through, and now we're the ones taking the fall?"
"At the very least, you could give us a reason. With such an abrupt dismissal, how are we supposed to find new jobs?"
With a cold and disdainful expression on her alluring face, Alicia's lips curved into a scornful arc.
"I don't hire gossipmongers."
The five secretaries were utterly shocked.
Previously, Alicia had worked alongside them as the CEO's secretary.
Due to Peter's deteriorating health, he suddenly announced his retirement and handed over his position to Alicia. The news had been hard to accept for all of them, and they found it difficult to bow down to Alicia willingly.
From the perspective of these secretaries, Alicia was no different from them. Therefore, they believed that Alicia had secured her position as acting CEO by being a mistress to the actual CEO.
They thought she was just a pushover.
But when they were actually dismissed, they broke down in tears.
Before long, the entire company was on edge.
No one dared to deliver documents to Alicia's office except for one woman who feared nothing. She entered without knocking.
"Alicia, you've lost. Edmond still cares about me."
