He was amazed that she had really reclaimed the Equilwood Village project for him.

the Garcia family.

“What’s wrong? Isn’t Equilwood Village valuable?” Madelyn teasingly asked when he didn’t respond.

Snapping out of his daze, Andrew sat beside her.

“Do you really not care anymore?”

He was referring to her feelings toward the Garcia family.

Madelyn understood his question and unhurriedly ate her lunch.

“Would I be doing this if I cared?”

He didn’t try to stop her and allowed her to sit beside him.

She wasn’t wolfing down her food but taking deliberate large bites–a clear sign she was famished.

“They really didn’t give you any food?”

Madelyn nodded.

“As you already know, I haven’t had a single slice of bread at Garcia Manor in years.”

“Then why did you give them so many benefits before?”

Hearing that, Madelyn froze with the spoon still in her hand.

She didn’t speak, but a feeling of sadness and frustration welled up inside her.
