Yelena's crying stopped abruptly.

"But don't overthink it.I have no intention of taking advantage of your vulnerability.It's just that I like you,

people who like you, so why can't you let him go?"

"Who is this gentleman? Why didn't you greet me when you came?"

"Federick Seanzy."

Slevin's eyes flashed when he heard the name.

"Oh, so you're the young master of the Seanzy Family."

He really didn't expect that Yelena would know the son of the Seanzy Family.Not only that but judging

from the conversation he overheard, this Federick guy liked her.

"Not to be rude, but may I ask, why did you bring her here?"

Although Federick's voice was polite, the underlying tone of his voice was impatient.

Slevin stood not too far away and responded cheerily, "No reason in particular.It was just to answer

some questions she had."

Federick questioned again, "Then, how did you come to know her?"

He believed that Yelena had never seen this man before.

Yet, the man knew her name and face and even approached her with ulterior motives.

There was no way he didn't come here with a goal in mind.

"It's not hard to get to know people.Besides, Mr.Seanzy, since you already know my name, you should

probably know who I am."

Federick didn't hesitate and replied, "You're from the Damazio Family, right?"

The man retorted, "lam! But I'm also ashamed to admit that I'm not a legitimate child of the Damazio

Family."

Federick looked at him coldly.

"I know."

Slevin was stunned; he didn't expect Federick to know such a private matter.

"So, why did you bring her here?"

Yelena was standing nearby, so as long as he told her the truth, she would be able to dispel any

illness.I just don't want our relationship to end in tragedy."

Slevin repeated what he had told Yelena before.

Caught in the dilemma, Yelena looked at the two men repeatedly, not knowing what to say.

When Federick heard her reply, his lips curled into a disdainful smile.

After that, he turned and left without another word.She looked at his retreating figure and chased after

him.

Yet, she soon realized that he was walking way too fast, as if he wanted to get rid of her, so she

gradually halted in her tracks.

In the end, she stood there helplessly as she watched Federick's figure disappear from her line of sight.

"What's wrong? Does it hurt to watch him leave?"

Slevin's sly, teasing voice came from behind her.

Yelena turned her head to look at him.

For some reason, annoyance washed over her the instant she laid her sight on his figure.

"That's none of your business." He chuckled.

"Yo, you still have quite a temper on you, don't you?"

Yelena furiously retorted, "What does that have to do with you?!"

Slevin shrugged, expressing his confusion.

"You said you liked my younger brother, so why do you care about another man’s feelings?"

When Yelena heard that, she suddenly didn't know how to answer.

"I don’t care about other men's feelings, but that man is my friend." He laughed aloud.

"Friend? I wasn’t aware that you're that bold to befriend a man who clearly fancies you."She cried out,

"I didn’t!"

Then, her voice slowly went quiet.

"I only found out he liked me today."

Slevin noticed her aggrieved look and didn't want to embarrass her further.

"All right, I'm just pulling your leg.Look at you.Why are you crying?"

Yelena wiped her tears away.

She didn't want to speak to the man in front of her anymore.She felt like she should apologize to

Federick.

Hence, she said through gritted teeth, "If there's nothing else, I'll go first."

this afternoon."

Yelena was suddenly caught between a rock and a hard place.

If she followed Slevin back now, Federick would be furious—even more furious than how he felt right

Yet, if she didn't, she would miss this chance forever.

She struggled to come to a decision, and when Slevin saw her hesitance, he quietly reminded her, "By

the way, I forgot to tell you, my brother is dying.He could die anytime now."

"Alright, I'll go back with you." Slevin was a little surprised.
