Chapter 129
“Despicable?”
Dominick looked a bit wronged. It was a bit cute to see the normally aloof man look so hurt.
But Lola was just angry. “Yes! Very despicable!
“Since it’s already like that, there’s no room for change. I have something to do, so I’ll leave first. I hope you will act as quickly as you said you would do, Mr. Sinclair.”
With that, Lola turned to leave.
“Wait.”
Dominick called out to Lola again, “Don’t rush off. Come with me later.”
Lola stopped in her tracks, frowning.
“I have things to do. I don’t have time to waste with you. Mr. Sinclair, your company is doing so well. You must have a lot of free time, but I’m not like you!”
Dominick was slightly taken aback, a hint of amusement in his eyes. She really was always so sharp–tongued.
But she used to be more polite to him, keeping a certain distance between them.
Compared to the polite, almost stranger–like interactions, Dominick preferred things like this. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
At least Lola finally showed some emotions toward him. Even though they weren’t positive emotions, Dominick had enough patience to take it slowly.
“Your sharp tongue is really something,” Dominick said with a tone filled with affection.
Lola couldn’t stand Dominick treating her like this. She frowned impatiently, “Mr. Sinclair, what do you need?
“I have a lot to do, so please get to the point. And I think we should only discuss work matters. We need to avoid any misunderstandings.”
Lola said this on purpose, wanting to remind Dominick with every word that she was a married woman and he shouldn’t think too much.
Dominick saw right through Lola’s intention but didn’t get angry.
Today, he was already very satisfied/

“There’s a party tonight, and you need to come with me.” Dominick’s tone made it clear that this wasn’t a request.
Lola frowned slightly, “A party?”
Dominick was getting more and more outrageous!
“Mr. Sinclair, although the contract says I have to be available whenever you need me if you want to take a date to a party, plenty of women are lined up for the chance. Why do you insist on taking
me?
“Besides, if I’m unwilling, people at the party will notice, and it will spoil the mood.”
Lola’s words made a lot of sense, but Dominick nodded lightly, wanting to tease her.
“You make a good point, but what can I do? No one can compare to you.”
Lola was speechless.
She never imagined someone could change so much until she saw him.
A cold and mysterious man suddenly turned into someone full of sweet talk, teasing people and fooling around.
“Mr. Sinclair, you are being unreasonable.” Lola was furious but didn’t leave.
She knew very well that they had a contract, and with Dominick acting like this, she couldn’t help but worry that if she breached the contract, Dominick might do something drastic.
Ignoring Lola’s angry expression, Dominick started making arrangements.
“Ryan, get her a dress she can wear. We’ll leave for the party in two hours.”
Ryan, who had been waiting outside, came in and replied, “Yes, Mr. Sinclair, I’ll get right on it.”
Lola’s frown deepened. “Mr. Sinclair, I haven’t agreed to this. Why are you deciding for me? I don’t agree!”
Dominick stood up without answering Lola’s question and walked toward the hidden door in his office.
Lola was furious, chasing after Dominick. “Mr. Sinclair, this is too much!
“I won’t go to the party with you. That’s not the kind of place we should be seen together. We’re not related in any way. People will misunderstand!”
Dominick suddenly stopped, turned around, and raised an eyebrow at Lola.
“Still following me?”
Lola was frustrated. Dominick kept/changing the subject and never faced the issue directly!

“Can we calmly discuss this? We can’t go to the party together!”
“I’m going to change clothes now. If you want to watch, I’ll let you.”
Dominick smiled mischievously.
Lola was taken aback, watching him pick up his suit.
“…” Lola felt awkward, forgetting what she was about to say because of Dominick’s words.
“You want to watch?”
With that, Dominick lifted his shirt.
Lola was so scared that she quickly turned around and left the room.
Dominick watched her leave, smiling to himself.
He just wanted to scare her a little. He would never actually do that.
Lola seemed tough, but she was really shy.
“Ms. Mitchell, I’ve prepared your outfit. Do you like it?”
Ryan was very polite to Lola, so much so that she wondered if they had met before.
“I don’t like it,” Lola said, not in the mood to look.

Ryan still held the outfit, looking hurt. “Ms. Mitchell…please. If you don’t change, I’ll have to stand here holding
this forever.
“There’s nothing I can do. I hope you understand. I’m just an employee. If I don’t complete my task, Mr. Sinclair will get mad at me.”
Ryan sounded more and more pitiful, even pretending to wipe away tears. “Him getting angry is the least of my worries. If I lose my salary, I can’t survive. I have a family to support.
“Oh well, it’s okay. I’m just a worker with no rights. If you don’t help me, I won’t blame you.”
Ryan’s words made Lola feel guilty.
“You…” Lola hesitated.
“Don’t be like this.”
Ryan bent even lower. “It’s okay, Ms. Mitchell. I’m used to it. If I don’t get paid, I’ll just eat bread.”

Lola couldn’t bear it anymore. She reluctantly raised her hand.
“Fine, I’ll change.”
Lola didn’t notice that Ryan smiled. She was still as kind–hearted as ever.
“Thank you, Ms. Mitchell!”
When Dominick came out, Lola had already gone to change.
“Mr. Sinclair, you have to raise my salary,” Ryan said proudly.
Dominick glanced at him. “Double.”
Lola was taken to a lounge by the secretary to change, feeling reluctant but with no choice.
