Chapter 19: Right on Time

I tried my best to shelve my thoughts and calm myself down. I watched as things unfolded on stage.

Based on my calculations, May would be making her appearance soon.

As the host warmed up the atmosphere, music started to play in time with a recording of the happy

couple. The guests cooed appropriately and wished them well.

With the help of two bridesmaids, Phoebe slowly walked towards the stage, the train of her wedding

gown trailing her elegantly.

the source of the voice.

May's appearance was right on time. She had a white dress on and her belly looked swollen. To the

guests, it was obvious that she was pregnant.

"Who is this?"

The guests started whispering among themselves. Phoebe was staring at May in astonishment, but

Leonard did not even flinch. He merely narrowed his eyes in May's direction.

"Leonard, if you marry her, what's going to happen to my baby?" May said as she looked at Leonard

bitterly.

I had to admit that May was a great actress. Every action and expression of hers was on point.

"What are you talking about, you crazy woman?"

Gail Sampson was the first to explode. She jumped to her feet and glared at May ferociously.

"Don't think that you can bully me just because I'm all alone. Let Leonard speak for himself! Do you

admit that I'm pregnant with your child or not?"

Leonard glanced at May and said coldly, "Who are you?"

"Alas, you heartless man! You said that you would marry me and take care of me and the baby, yet

here you are, pretending not to know me and marrying another woman..."

May suddenly burst into tears and started wailing, looking absolutely heartbroken.

The guests were abuzz at May's words.

"I heard long ago that Leonard has a mistress. Looks like his past misdeeds have finally caught up with

him!"

"Did you hear about the bride, though? Apparently, she dumped her boyfriend so she could latch onto

the Nell family!"

"Tsk tsk... looks like we're in for a good show!"

I felt extremely pleased as I listened to the whispering. Next to me, Bell was trembling with
