Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 168
Chapter 168 Fallen for Someone So Unromantic
When Clarissa got downstairs, she saw her mother sitting on the sofa.
Mrs. Faber was serving the dishes, and they would soon be able to eat.
Earlier, Theresa had secretly asked Mrs. Faber who the woman from the night before was. Mrs. Faber
had told her that she was Madelynn York, a celebrity,
Now, Theresa didn’t want to talk to Clarissa about Madelynn.
“What are you doing, Mom?” Clarissa asked her. She wrapped an arm around Theresa’s shoulder and
pulled Theresa close.
“Joseph Moore, your brother’s boss, just texted me to wish me well. He has a way with words,”
Theresa said as she replied to Joseph.
The smartphone she was using was one that Clarissa had bought her.
She still wasn’t too familiar with it, and typed slowly.
Clarissa fell silent. ‘Why is everyone bringing Joseph up today?’
She was just about to change the topic when Theresa said, “He seems to be a nice person. How old is
he? Does he have a girlfriend?”
“He just turned thirty, and I don’t think he has a girlfriend. Let’s not talk about him, Mom.” Clarissa
wanted to change the topic.
“Why not?” Damien came downstairs, his cold voice making her hair stand on end.
Clarissa frowned.
She knew this wasn’t her lucky day.
“I was asking Clary how old Joseph is, and I was thinking of introducing someone to him. He visited me
before, and he even texted me today. He’s a pretty nice guy.” Theresa waved her phone around and
smiled.
“Oh, is that so? Shouldn’t you ask him whether he has his eye on someone first?” Damien took in
Clarissa’s awkward expression.
“Right. Clary, do you know what Joseph’s type is?” Theresa turned to Clarissa.
“Mom, stop being so impulsive. If he’s not worried about it, you shouldn’t be. Come on, let’s eat.”
Clarissa sat down at the dining table.
Clarissa looked at the dishes and said, “Happy holidays, Mrs. Faber. Thanks for your hard work.”
“Oh, it’s nothing! Clarissa, I heard you’re turning twenty-four this year? You need to take good care of
yourself, alright?” Mrs. Faber said.
“She almost forgot how old she was! Not only does she not remember her own age, but she also can’t
remember Damien’s age! Are you really wife material?” Theresa patted Clarissa on the head.
Under normal circumstances, this was nothing but a joke.
To Damien, however, it wasn’t.
He clearly remembered her saying earlier that Joseph just turned thirty!
Yet, she didn’t know how old Damien was.
Throughout the meal, Damien’s expression was frosty.
Then again, he normally didn’t speak much.
After lunch, Clarissa hung around downstairs. She was afraid of going upstairs to face Damien
“Clary, you should take advantage of the holiday season to spend some more time with Damien. He
may not have said anything, but I’m sure he wasn’t too happy with you staying with me for such a long
time. Go on.” Theresa gave Clarissa a little push. “Grandpa Lawrence is resting, and I’m going to go
back to my room as well.”
Clarissa knew her mother was still a little weak, and it wouldn’t be good for her to keep hanging around
downstairs.
When she got back to the bedroom, she saw that Damien had already drawn the curtains and turned
on the bedside lamp.
Perhaps he was planning on taking a nap since he’d woken up early. At the moment, he was reading.
Clarissa had yet to finish tidying up her clothes, and she wanted to continue with it. It was almost
spring, so she had to get her spring clothes out.
“Aside from my name, you don’t know anything else about the man that’s been sleeping with you,
huh?” Damien’s voice rang out from behind her.
Her hand paused on the cupboard door. “How could I not know?”
She knew he was referring to the matter of their age. She only knew Joseph’s age because he had told
her that around Easter.
Damien, on the other hand, had never mentioned his age before.
Anyway, she didn’t care about it.
“What else do you know? That I’ll give you money?”
Clarissa took her clothes out of the cupboard and stacked them neatly on the bed.
“I know everything about you,” she said, almost sullenly.
“Oh, like what? Let’s hear it.” Damien closed his book and put it down, and stared at her Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
L. I just bought you new underwear. Just you wait!” Clarissa blushed a little. She seemed to be giving
herself a little pep talk.
What she meant was that Damien was someone very intimate to her.
To tell the truth, ever since she had seen him in the snow the day before, she inexplicably felt like he
had become more intimate. Moreover, he bought a cat and named it Clary.
“Not half bad.” There was a hint of iciness on the corner of his mouth. “Anyway, you know very well
who the flowers are from.”
“No, I don’t. They’re from you!” Clarissa said insistently.
“That man’s going to die from sadness if he heard this. He’s unfortunate to have fallen for someone so
unromantic.”
Clarissa held her head high, and didn’t say anything.
