For better or for worse
Lily
“I’m sorry but I will do no such thing, so bye!”
For a second there my conscience riddled me that I might have probably left him in a manner, so I opened the door to still me (baby daddy) standing at the walkway.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
“Look I’m sorry my Granny rejected your flowers but I think it’s best you just leave” I try to vaguely sympathize with him
“And what am I supposed to do with the flowers, it was difficult enough for me to find someone to give the first flowers you rejected” he let out in frustration
“Beautiful, I’m sure you can still fine someone else to give this flowers as well, you seem quite good and getting the ladies already” I give a light sneer
“What do you mean by that, Lily?”
“What I mean is, who was that red head I saw you kissing just a few moments ago?”
” Oh that was… “he hesitated for a few seconds to fabricate the best lie to tell me and formed a fake smile “that was nothing Lily, nothing happened. It was just a lady who asked for directions so I told her and she appreciated me. We didn’t even kiss, it was just a peck”
“You really can’t change can you? You’re just an old dog with old habits? I became irritated with the fact that he was still trying to lie to me even after I had seen them do their nonsense together. But I was more disappointed that I didn’t believe Cayden when he told me all those things about (baby daddy), I was such a fool to treat him the way I did. Now I saw (baby daddy) for who he truly was, a lying, cheating, self centered, egoistic piece of shit who only cared about his selfish interests and nothing more. The mere sight of him irritated me the most.
“Unfortunately I’m already used to your ways at this point so nothing surprises me anymore. I no longer want to have anything to do with you anymore (baby daddy) and I think it’s best you forget we existed and that you ever had a son, maybe start a family with that red head of yours”
“You can possibly be serious now Lily. I’ve put a whole lot in place here for use, I wanted us to get married and build a happy home here with Jacek, you can’t possibly just put me in the mud like this. Reco sider what you are saying Lily, I care about you people” he protested but my decision remained adamant
We’ve been doing wonderfully for the past two years now that you’ve abandoned us, I don’t think your care and lies would make any difference now. And besides I cannot get married to a chronic and unrepentant cheat and pathological liar as an excuse for a husband even if you were the last man on earth. I would rather stay single the rest of my life if that were the case” he tried to make a defense but I shut him down “I’m through with you (baby daddy), it’s best you take your leave now and never return here again in this life time and even in another”
“You know what, it’s absolutely fine…Have it your way then” he surrendered his quest and walked away.
I went back into the house with a widened smile and a pink cloaked cheek bone, I was overly excited that he was now out of my life and I could worry less. Granny seemed happy too as she had very little liking for him herself so it came as great news to her when she saw the smile on her face and had overheard our argument.
Later that day I got tipped by the supervisor who had initially come to inspect my shop who was now my friend, that someone named (baby daddy) had come to petition the board that her bakery was a fraud and had laid other not so nice accusations about her business. He went on to tell me that the judges had discussed and decided to pay the shop an unannounced visit to investigate his claims and take actions if necessary. He said that the judges weren’t very happy and even I knew that whether or not they found anything incriminating about my business, their visit alone was going to affect my business and I couldn’t afford that at this point in time.
I was confused and didn’t know what to do. I might admit that I wasn’t so surprised to hear that (baby daddy was the one who made the petition to the judges. I thought he was gone for good but I would have been lying if I didn’t think he was going to take a final stand. Regardless, this was a precarious situation for me and my business, I needed to do something and I needed to do it fast
