Chapter 3721

Chapter 3721

Kathryn wasn't concerned about what Holden and Marco were saying. She could guess they were likely cursing her.

She asked Pedro to take her back to the office.

As soon as she returned, she poured herself a cup of warm water. But before she could take a sip, her secretary called to say that Liberty had arrived.

"Please, let her in," Kathryn replied.

She hadn't expected Liberty to visit so soon. It wasn't likely about asking her to step down; it was probably to show concern.

A few minutes later, the secretary brought Liberty in. "You can go back to work," Kathryn told the secretary.

After the door closed, Kathryn looked at Liberty for a moment and said, feeling uncertain, "Liberty, I don't know how to face you."

"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you," Liberty replied calmly, sitting on the sofa. Kathryn smiled bitterly. "Killing me would only dirty your hands." Even her own mother and cousins hadn't wanted to handle her directly, thinking it would be beneath them.

"What would you like to drink?" Kathryn asked.

"I haven't been sleeping well, and I'm exhausted. If you have coffee, I'll take a cup," Liberty said.

Kathryn set her water aside. "Okay, I'll make some coffee for both of us. I need it too." She hadn't been sleeping well either, relying on coffee just to get through the days.

After a little while, Kathryn returned with two steaming cups of coffee.

Seeing Liberty take off her coat, Kathryn asked, "Are you warm? I can turn down the heater."

Liberty replied lightly, "No, I'm just hot from coming in from outside."

Now, inside Kathryn's office, the temperature felt just right-neither too hot nor too cold.

Kathryn set one cup of coffee in front of Liberty and went to grab some snacks, placing them on the table.

Liberty didn't rush to drink her coffee. Instead, she looked at Kathryn closely.

Noticing how tired Kathryn

appeared, with dark circles under her eyes, Liberty could tell it was due to grief and sleepless nights. Clarissa may have been a villain to many, but

"Do I look awful?" Kathryn asked. She was dressed plainly.

Liberty, being honest, said, "Not as good as usual."

“I'm not beautiful at all,” Kathryn replied. "I've never thought of myself as a beauty."

She felt she was only somewhat attractive, unlike the other women in her family who were stunning and elegant.

Her cousin Audrey, even as she approached old age, had aged well and still looked charming. It was clear Audrey had been a beauty in her youth. Elisa and Liberty were both very attractive too.

"You're not ugly either. You have a unique appearance and presence that many people don't have," Liberty said, picking up her coffee. "I just came to check on you. There's` nothing else. Don't worry about things."

"Where are my cousin and the others? Have they gone home yet?" Kathryn asked, referring to Audrey and her family.

"Not yet," Liberty replied. "My aunt is staying at Hayden's house, and Grandpa Jimenez said he'll stick around a little longer. He mentioned wanting to catch up with Old Mr.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

There weren't many people left from Mr. Jimenez's generation.
