Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 659: Farewell Angela

Angela sipped her soup.

"What does it matter?"

"It matters a lot!"

Natalie took a deep breath and grabbed Angela's cheek.

"Didn't the old man always teach you not to be picky, not to eat just the dumpling filling without the dumpling skin? Because that's just common sense, it's basic, it's about not wasting."

Angela nodded, puzzled.

"Is there a problem with that?"All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

"But what if you don't like the dumpling skin? If you don't eat it, then don't. You don't have to listen to the old man for everything, nor do you need to do things only if they benefit the Brookes family. Everything you do, you should do because you enjoy it, understand?"

Angela was somewhat enlightened but not entirely clear.

From childhood, she had told herself to always prioritize the Brookes family's interests.

The only time she ever defied Ian was to leave the Brookes family because of the Five Poisons.

But fundamentally, it was still for the benefit of the Brookes family.

This mindset had become deeply ingrained in Angela.

Natalie's sudden words today left her somewhat at a loss.

What were the things she actually liked?

Seeing Angela's confused and perplexed expression, Natalie did not continue.

Angela would have to figure it out slowly on her own.

Some things, buried deep in the heart, are not so easily eradicated, especially for someone as steadfast as Angela.

To truly understand might take some time.

"Alright, think it over yourself. I'll give this notebook to Tina, and if there's anything else, you can go directly to her."

After saying this, Natalie was about to leave, but Angela grabbed her wrist.

"Alina, where are you going?"

Angela, with her keen senses, detected a farewell tone in Natalie. Her eyes locked tight, as if Natalie might disappear the next second. Ian had finally waited for her return, where could she be going now?

Natalie patted Angela's hand gently, her touch as light as a breeze in spring.

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."

Angela didn't understand what Natalie was up to, but she guessed that Natalie must be headed somewhere very distant. Otherwise, she wouldn't have spoken these words today.

Angela still held onto Natalie, her eyes resolute.

It was as if she was saying, wherever you go, I will follow.

Natalie smiled helplessly, her lips curving into a smile.

"Tomorrow, Tina is treating me for post-amnesia syndrome. Perhaps by the next time we meet, I'll remember who they were."

Angela was silent for a long while, her deep voice finally sounding, "Is it dangerous?"

Natalie neither confirmed nor denied. Danger, to her, was not an absolute.

Regaining her memory was what she ultimately wanted.

Natalie ruffled Angela's hair.

"Anyway, it won't kill me."

She wasn't lying. She might not be skilled in fortune-telling, but old man Tam was.

He had told her she would live a long life surrounded by grandchildren, enjoying familial bliss.

She believed it!

Angela said nothing further, understanding that Natalie had her own thoughts and decisions, and once she had made up her mind, she wouldn't change it.

After Natalie left, Angela sat there, slowly eating the small dumplings in her bowl.

She looked at the dumpling skins and silently separated them from the filling with her chopsticks, eating just the filling.

Suddenly, a bowl appeared in front of her, filled only with dumpling filling.

Angela suddenly looked up and saw Brandon, his face lifted, resting his chin on his palms as he gazed at her.

"Eat as much as you like if you enjoy it. Eat all you want!"

Angela stiffened. She had been so absorbed in her own world that she had completely overlooked the danger around her, not noticing Brandon's approach at all! She abruptly stepped back and turned to run.

Brandon chased after her immediately, "Angela, don't run..."

"Hey, you haven't paid yet! Three bowls of dumplings!"

Before Brandon could even take a step, the quick-reacting dumpling shop owner grabbed him, "Young Master Brandon, you can't just skip out on the bill!"

"Big brother, we're so familiar with each other, do you really have to do this?"

Brandon said, exasperatedly running his fingers through his hair.

In that moment, Angela had definitely disappeared.

The owner grunted a few times, "Your brother already said it, you gamble and womanize outside, just saw a young girl and you chased after her, everything your brother said was right, pay up now!" At that moment, Brandon felt like tearing out Gavin's heart.

What kind of slander is this!

He was his own brother, his only brother!

Brandon pulled out some money, "From now on, I'm a VIP at your shop. When you see me, don't ask for money again!"

The owner immediately let go, "No problem! VIP, please take your time leaving!"

Brandon howled in frustration and stormed out.

On the empty street, Angela was nowhere to be seen.

It was so hard to see her again, and just like that, she was gone...

He hadn't even asked if she thought about him.

Brandon returned to the Brookes family, where Natalie and Tina were already accompanying Ian for hotpot, as if nothing had happened.

But Brandon looked at Natalie with a face full of deep-seated grievances.

He had overheard Natalie's conversation with Angela.

After dinner, Natalie took it upon herself to clean up the dishes, letting Tina accompany Ian in a game of chess.

The sister-in-laws started playing mahjong, getting Jared to join as they were one short.

Jack was dragging Isaac into a martial contest, insisting on Gavin being the referee.

Usually, Brandon would be causing trouble on the side, or playing house with Kiki and Mimi.

But today, he went over to Natalie, helping her with the hotpot dipping sauces.

Natalie rinsed the bowls, looking sideways at Brandon, "Did Angela leave you behind?"

Brandon took a breath, "Yes, and I even paid for your dumplings, and thanks to Gavin's rumors, I'm now a VIP member of a dumpling shop, known as a womanizing gambler." Natalie laughed, "Out of all of us, your life is the most colorful, enough to write a novel."

"Really?"

Brandon stopped what he was doing, looking sideways at Natalie, "I think the matter of treating amnesia seems a bit more interesting."

Natalie paused, then resumed as usual.

Since Brandon had chased after Angela, he must have heard her conversation with Angela.

"Brandon, this is something that was bound to happen sooner or later; I need to recover my memory," Natalie said softly while drying the bowls.

Brandon's grip tightened, his face showing restraint, "Alina, how risky is this procedure really?"

Natalie didn't intend to hide it, "Ninety-eight percent chance."

"Are you serious?"

At hearing this probability, a glint appeared in Brandon's eyes.

Ninety-eight percent chance of success, what's there to worry about?

With Tina around, that two percent doesn't even exist.

Natalie curled her lips, a trace of melancholy leaking from the corners of her mouth, "I mean, a ninety-eight percent chance of failure."
