Chapter 82
Aside from that, if Mister Brigado were to run an inspection on Harrod himself… all the stunts he had pulled over the years would be exposed.
Harrod’s legs began to wobble at that thought.
His subordinates did not know what to do seeing him like this.
Bernie, however, was still oblivious. “Mister Coop, come on! Get rid of him!”
Harrod wanted nothing more than to slap this idiot of a nephew of his in the face.
Yet what mattered most right then was saving himself.
A brief pause later, he got an idea and shouted, “Bernie Doebrook, what happened here!”
Bernie was caught off guard. He looked at Harrod and said, “Uncle Harrod, I’ve told you everything on the phone.”
“You didn’t tell me sh*t! Sir, if you could please come over here for a moment,” Harrod called out to the cafe owner. NôvelDrama.Org © content.
The cafe owner was confused himself, shaking as he walked up to Harrod.
Harrod said in a friendly tone, “Sir, tell me the truth here. Did he refuse to pay for his meal?”
The cafe owner nodded, and Harrod said at once, “Very well, we’ll take this matter seriously, Bernie Doebrook, you’re fired. Pay the man at once, with a compensation ten times the cost of your meal. After that, you’re to go to the office at once and get your resignation documents handled.”
“What?” Bernie was completely shocked, frozen in place.
Harrod said, “I can’t keep black sheep like you on my team. Get lost right now!”
“Are you serious, Uncle Harrod? You were just…
Before Bernie could finish talking, Harrod shouted, “Who the hell are you calling your uncle? Even if I was your uncle, you deserve to be punished for your mistakes!”
Just then, Wilbur and Gordon were watching Harrod’s act as they shook their heads.
They both knew that Harrod had gotten cold feet and was doing his best to save himself.
But after Gordon’s phone call, Harrod hardly stood a chance.
Wilbur and Gordon felt like they were watching a circus act.
Bernie was still indignant then but could only do as he was told.
Just as he was preparing to leave, Gordon said coldly, “No one’s leaving this place until I say so.
Harrod stuttered, “S–Sir, can we please talk this out? You can tell me if I had any slip–ups in my handling of this situation, and I’ll be sure to take them into serious consideration.”
Harrod knew just how powerful someone was to be able to have Chase Brigado on speed dial.
Despite not knowing just who Gordon was, Harrod knew that he was someone not to be messed with
Yet Gordon did not budge in the slightest. “You can say that to Chase later.”
Harrod could not help but tremble at those words.
He had called Chase by his first name, which indicated just how powerful he was. Harrod did not understand how he had run into someone like this in a small cafe. At that moment, he had the urge to kill Bernie right there.
Harrod’s mind raced, trying to find a way out of this.
Very soon, another car stopped in front of the cafe.
A man in his fifties wearing a blazer walked into the cafe and headed toward Gordon
“General Grayson, I can’t believe someone with a busy schedule like you has the time to hang out at a cafe.” Hearing Chase address Gordon as General Grayson struck Harrod with terror at once, and he froze in place.
