Chapter 25
Chapter 25
"What do you want? This is the Foster Group. You won't get away with misconduct around here,"
Scarlet warned as she put on a brave front.
"You're not an employee of the Foster Group, so Mr. Foster won't mind if I misbehave around you. I
know your name and your studio now. It's going to be easy for me to find you. I can get any woman I
want, and I can get you," Tripp said confidently.
"You... You're arrogant and disrespectful."
Scarlet felt so insulted that she grabbed her purse and started walking out. As soon as she walked
through the door, she ran into someone with a rock-hard body.
Startled, she staggered backward a little.
When she raised her head and looked up at the man in front of her, she saw Lenny's cold, handsome
face. Her heart began racing.
"Le... Len..." she stammered, unable to utter her ex-husband's name.
Lenny's eyes burned with icy fury. A muscle in his jaw flickered as he scanned the room. The air
around him was grim and imposing.
"Great to see you, Mr. Foster. I see you're finally available to meet with me." Tripp smiled and
continued, "I've changed the cooperation plan just like we talked about last time. It's done. All it needs
is your approval and signature. All the workers are waiting. There is absolutely no construction team
better than mine in the whole Wellholt..."
"I'm no longer interested in cooperating with you."
"What?"
Tripp was stunned.
Scarlet stared at Lenny with wide, confused eyes.
"Get out." Lenny spoke in a voice that made Tripp's heart leap to his throat.
But Tripp didn't understand why Lenny suddenly changed his mind. They had a good conversation
before. What happened now? What did he do wrong?
Seeing that Lenny was about to leave, Tripp said anxiously, "What did I do wrong, Mr. Foster? I thought
our deal was practically done. Why are you backing out now?"
Hearing this, Lenny stopped in his tracks and looked at Scarlet instead of Tripp.
"Did he touch you? With which hand?"
"How did you know?"
"With which hand?"
"What are you going to do?"
"Answer my question, Scarlet. With which hand did he touch you?"
"He touched... He touched me with his right hand," Scarlet stammered.
"Drake, break his right hand and then come to my office."
"What?" Upon hearing Lenny's order, Scarlet was shocked. There was no need for him to hurt Tripp
because of her.
Their contract was ready for his signature. She couldn't let him lose a business partner just because
the said business partner had been crude to her.
Scarlet wanted to say something more, but Lenny grabbed her hand and dragged her to his office.
Lenny shut the door behind them, took off his jacket, and threw it on the sofa. Then, he loosened his
tie.
He unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and swallowed. He had never felt this enraged his entire
life.
He overheard Tripp and Scarlet's conversation earlier before Scarlet started walking out. He got so
angry that it was a miracle he didn't rush over to Tripp and punched him in the face.
Lenny stood by his big office windows and repeatedly took deep breaths to calm himself down.
At the same time, Scarlet, who was standing behind him, didn't know what to do. She nervously
clenched the hem of her shirt and said, "I really appreciate your help, Mr. Foster. You didn't have to, but
I'm grateful you did. Don't take this the wrong way, but you're the best ex-husband in the world. Please© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
don't ruin your business deals because of me. I'm not worth losing a partner over. I will only blame
myself if you do. Please don't be impulsive."
"He disrespected you, but you still speak for him?"
Lenny frowned and spoke unhappily.
"I'm not speaking for him. I'm only trying to reason with you. Running this group isn't easy. You can't
afford to..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Lenny turned around and glared at her.
Forgetting what she was going to say next, Scarlet shut up in an instant.
Then, Lenny began approaching her step by step.
What was he going to do?
Scarlet was so frightened that she stepped back. In the end, she found herself backed into a wall.
There was no way to escape.
She quickly lowered her head and looked at the floor, not daring to meet Lenny's gaze.
"Mr.... Mr. Foster... Please behave yourself."
That was all she could mutter.
