Chapter 840 Capture This Moment Well, Especially His Face
“I like the idea of eliminating Joseph, but the more important question is how do we do it?”
"I found out that in two days, Joseph will be heading to Skyreach Memorial Park on Harold’s behalf to pay tribute to Harold’s former comrade. The memorial park is built on a mountaintop, accessible only through a single mountain road. The area is sparsely populated and has poor signal reception. Even if outside were called upon, it’d take some time to get there."
This plan to take action at Skyreach Memorial Park was foolproof.
Cyrus took a sip of his coffee and smiled. "Are you in a hurry because of your impending marriage to Chloe in three days?"
Noah's eyes flickered but he did not refute this. To avoid unnecessary trouble, he had considered all the factors. Now was the most appropriate moment to deal with Joseph.
"And how will you repay me?"
"Once Joseph is dead, I'll personally deliver the person you're looking for right into your hands," Noah declared, full of confidence.
Frieda had filled out her basic information when she joined Exotic Star. Although her personal details were incomplete, her address could be found with some effort. It was not a difficult task. Most importantly, Joseph probably believed that he had kept Frieda hidden well and that nobody knew her real identity.
It was a pity, but to keep something hidden, one should not act in the first place. Perhaps the heavens had grown weary of observing and were now turning things around.
Cyrus’ face was inscrutable. He pushed a cup toward Noah and said, "Pleasure doing business with you. There’s no wine, but we could toast with coffee."
Noah gazed at the excellent Black Ivory Coffee before him as its fragrance wafted toward him. He picked up the cup, clinked it lightly with Cyrus’, and answered, "Pleasure doing business." However, he did not immediately drink it. He watched as Cyrus consumed half his own cup before taking a small sip himself.
After discussing the details of the plan, Noah got up to leave. But when he got to his feet, a sudden wave of dizziness overtook him. His face, usually pale, flushed a rosy pink. He staggered back into his chair as he shot a furious glare at Cyrus.
Cyrus had also drank coffee, but Noah had neglected to take note if it had been poured before or after his arrival. Everything was clear now. Cyrus’ coffee had been poured before he entered, so it must be the coffee pot that had been drugged.
Otto laughed slyly, patting Noah's chest like a close friend. "Why the angry look? I didn't poison you."
Noah closed his eyes, struggling to suppress the inexplicable heat surging within him.
Cyrus tapped on the adjoining wall. "Come in," he commanded.
A masked woman entered the room. Noah's eyes narrowed, his pupils contracting as he anticipated what was to come. Looking into the slits of the woman’s mask, he recognized her eyes. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
It was Xavia’s eyes.
Noah’s eyes bore into Xavia’s as she bit her lip. This was her first time feeling the sting of betrayal, the taste of being utterly trampled upon. Among the myriad of women in Duskfall, they had chosen her to seduce Noah. This was more difficult for her than spending the night with a fat old geezer.
"My young friend, collaboration is an elusive concept for me. More often, others simply follow my lead," Cyrus said, his voice dripping with condescension. He signaled to Otto, who promptly
whipped out a camera. With a violent flourish, Cyrus tore away Xavia's clothes to reveal her bare flesh. Left with only her undergarments, she was exposed before the three men.
Noah was stunned for a moment, then quickly turned his head away.
Cyrus’ voice took on a teasing tone, filled with malicious glee. He said, "Tell me. If photos of you and Xavia were to adorn the big screen during your wedding to Chloe, would she still take your hand in marriage?"
Noah's silence was his only reply. His body betrayed him as a wave of heat washed over him, blurring his vision and clouding his thoughts.
Cyrus’ eyes narrowed, and he signaled Otto again. "Make sure to capture this moment well, especially his face."
