Chapter 93

Chapter 93

Lotties POV

“Someone’s on the line for you missy!” Freddie appears, as I lift my head from the table to eye the phone in his hands,

It was now hall four, as I take the phone from him with a sigh.

“Hello!” My voice is quiet, barely above a whisper, before an unfamiliar tone meets my ears.

“Hi Lottie, It’s Zack, one of Alex men, we know about what happened and we are trying to locate Alex… he left his phone in the office by the looks of things in the meantime, sit tight with Freddie.” Zack, the unknown guy tells me, as I sigh.

It wasn’t much of an update… other than telling me that Alex left his phone at the office….

It’s just not like him to completely forget all about me!

“Sure! Thanks!” I mumble briefly, before he says a quick goodbye and ends the call. I hand Freddie back his phone, as he eyes me with concern before heading back out to the main bar.

I pick up my own phone, fumbling around with it, achieving nothing, before my eyes light up when seeing an incoming call from Anna which causes me to gasp.

I answer it immediately, thankful for a familiar voice to meet my ears- “Lottie oh my gosh! I just read your text! What the fuck happened to you?! I’m going to kill Alex when I find him! Did he pick you up yet? Where are you right now? Anna rants, before I hear her car starting up.

“N–No I’m still at Freddie’s pub… It was so scary Anna! I don’t know where Alex is, he still hasn’t answered me at all! 1 feel my eyes brim with tears, grateful to hear from Anna but traumatised from what had happened in such a short space of time. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

“I’m on my way! Don’t panic! I’ll be there in ten! Sorry I didn’t see your text sooner, the damn dentist insisted on taking, what felt like, a million scans of my teeth before letting me leave!” Anna rambles, as she drives.

“Don’t apologise it’s not your fault! Alex was supposed to pick me up today! I don’t understand what’s happened, he’s never done anything like this!” I huff out, a sharp pang of hurt shooting through me.

How could he just forget about me and leave me to walk home like that…especially after I told him about the person sending me those letters too?

“He’s a total ass! It’s unacceptable! I’m not far now, five minutes! Anna comforts me, as I grow relieved by her calming voice.

“Be careful Anna incase the

person is still outside… 1 gulp in thought, not wanting to put her in any danger.

*Il park up right in front of the pub and I’ll double check before getting out don’t worry! I’m only around the corner… Anna states, before I hear the ticking of her indicator in the background as she turns the car.

“Stay on the call whilst you come in. I ask, deciding that I would feel a lot better if I could at least hear her as she arrives in the pub.

I listen before her engine cuts off a minute later, causing me to perk up in the quiet room… finally someone was here for

ir me!

“There’s nobody that looks sketchy hanging around here, I’m coming in now!” I suddenly hear her car door open and close, before the creaking of the pub doors follow.

I then hear Freddie’s faint voice in the background – “Ah Anna! Pleasure to see you my dear! She’s in the back!” He informs.

I take this as my sign to hang up, before moments later the room door opens – revealing my sympathetic looking friend.

Come here you poor thing!” Anna gushes, as I stand to embrace her in a tight hug feeling my emotions suddenly crashing down on me like a tidal

“I was so scared Anna… it was so creepy! They actually chased me! Sprinting behind me! I didn’t think I would make it here!” I release a sob, as she rubs comforting circles on my back – hushing me.

“Come on, lets get you out of this dusty pub… I’ll take you back to my place!” Anna suggests, pulling away before using her sweater sleeve to wipe iny

I nod, sniffling, before gathering up my belongings. I take her hand and follow her back out to the front of the pub – eager to leave now

“Going home now amved…

home now ladies? Ill give Zack a call to let him know! Freddie greets us, as I notice the pub had grown busier now compared to when I had first

“Who the heck is Zack?” Anna squints, as I remain behind her – holding her hand tightly in fear that she would disappear.

“One of Alex guys… he was the first to pick up! Anyhow, I’ll walk you both out to your car, please take care of yourselves on the way home!” Freddie finishes filling up a pint, before leading us out from the har towards the main doors.

He walks outside first, as Anna follows–shielding me behind her as we all look around warily for anybody that looks weird.

Anna unlocks the car, as I waste no time on rushing inside slamming the door shut for safety. Anna climbs in beside me, as we thank Freddie briefly, before she starts up the car and drives us away from there.

“I haven’t felt happier than being here in this car with you! Thank you for coming for me! I lay my head back, closing my eyes with a heavy sigh.

I was overly grateful that Anna was taking me back to her home, a place that served me well in terms of safety and comfort through some of my toughest times

“Of course I came! Did none of the guys answer at all?! I cant believe they’ve fucking ghosted you like that! Three of them too, and not one could answer a text or a phone call? Losers!” She rants, unimpressed by their behaviour as I nod

“I know, it’s Alex that’s hurt me the most though… he’s never done anything like this to me when I was in Freddies, I was actually thinking, maybe this is some sort of sick payback for Miami? I speak my thoughts aloud, keeping my emotions at bay as best I can

Anna slows down at a stoplight, before turning to me with her eyes narrowed at the sheer idea..

“It better not be! He’s picked a really shitty time to act like this! Especially after you showed him the letters!” Anna states, unamused, before driving on again nearing her home now.

“It’s almost five, he was supposed to pick me up at three, am I being ridiculous Anna?” I see the time displayed above her radio reading 16:48, as another shot of sadness washes over me.

We pull up outside her home, as she fumbles around in her bag to find her keys, retrieving them seconds after.

“No you are not! He was literally complaining that you weren’t texting him enough at school yet here he is ignoring you now! Anything could’ve happened to you Lottie, he’s being fucking selfish!” She remarks, before gesturing for us to get out of the car as 1 follow her lead.

We walk up the familiar path, as she unlocks the door – allowing for us to step inside.

We walk in, throwing our belongings on the small bench by the door, before I fidget with my hands nervously.

“Anna? Would you mind locking the door? I’m feeling really paranoid.” I admit, as she nods and turns around to twist the inside locks.

The click offers me relief, knowing that we where now safe in here, locked away from the outside world…

“Im going to change.” I sigh, knowing Anna always kept some spare clothes here for me in my old room for times like these.

Anna agrees with the idea, following me up the steps, before we both part in the hall -changing into comfier pyjamas.

I use the bathroom, before splashing my face with cold water, wanting to relieve myself of the puffiness staring back at me.

I was a sight for sore eyes that’s for sure…

Lexit the bathroom, head back downstairs, grab a cold

glass of water before moving to retrieve my phone from my bag again.

1 grab it, not bothering to look at it this time around, before I walk back to the living area–settling down onto the sofa beside Anna

She offers me a blanket, as I take it and thank her grateful that this was how my day was ending as opposed to the many other scenarios that had rushed through my mind..

“I’m going to try and call lace again! Il fuck them up when I see them Lottie! Im so pissed!” Anna grits out, as I watch her unlock her own phone in a

fury.

I decide to check my own, seeing that it was now well after five, before my eyes land on the seven missed call notifications.

I type in my passcode, before it reveals that the missed calls are actually from Del… not Alex…

“I have seven missed calls from Del… I announce, as Anna holds her own phone to her ear in an attempt to ring face.

“It might be Alex though… that Zack dude told me that Alex left his phone at the office… I explain, before Anna grits her teeth and pulls the phone away from her ear..

“Nothing from Jace either! If I were you, I’d turn my phone off and ignore all of them!” Anna picks up the TV remote, turning it on to find us a show to watch together.

Maybe she’s right… I think I’ll do just that…
