Chapter 931 The True Desire In Hearts (Part One)

Alice couldn't hide her excitement driving for her swornmother and Violet to lunch. While driving, she

started sharing with them the things that had happened around the city while they were abroad to help

them catch up.

"Aunt Cherry, I couldn't tell you enough how my Mom missed you when you're abroad. Now that you're

finally back, you two can spend time together to catch up," Alice said with a smile on her face, glancing

at Cherry through the rear view mirror.

"Oh, I missed her too," Cherry said and smiled back to Alice. She was sitting at the back of the car with

her daughter and enjoying a nice view of the city. "Every time we talked over the phone, I wished we

were sitting together enjoying an afternoon tea and chatting face to face." A smile was still on Cherry's

face as she was recalling fun times with her friend when their children were young. She continued, "I

could still remember when you girls were little, and we used to take you to school every day."

Violet smirked at her mother and said, "Mom, how could you ever forget? We're like an extended

family. You're Alice's godmother and her mother's my godmother." Violet was quite pleased to see her

mother this happy for a long time since they stayed abroad. She looked at her mother and continued,

"And I loved hanging out in Alice's house because Uncle Derek and Godmother made me feel at

home."

Speaking about their childhood, Alice and Violet started recalling how fun those days were. "That's

right! I loved when we would go to school together and do homework after school at our house," Alice

said while laughing in between. "And the times when we bullied Lawrence."

Alice and Violet started laughing hysterically. Violet then added, "Oh, yeah! Back then, Lawrence was

so young that he would always follow what we said without complaint and wouldn't answer back even if

we bully him. But look at him now, he won't even listen to us anymore."

"That's not true!" Alice said, smiling back at Violet from the rearview mirror. "He doesn't listen to me, but

he does listen to you. You have always been Lawrence and Uncle Jackson's princess and they are

always at your disposal."

"Well, why don't I organize a party for our families so we can bully Lawrence again. Just like the old

times!" Violet said. Both girls laughed so hard that they were running out of breath.

Cherry loved it when these young ladies were having fun like they were children, she smiled and

helplessly shook her head and said jokingly, "I feel bad for Lawrence knowing he was bullied by you

two." She added, "And as his mother, I am bound to protect my little boy from the two of you."

"Mom, I'm starting to get jealous because you're always helping my brother," Violet teased, pouting her

lips to look cute. "Have you forgotten that I'm your daughter?" Violet asked as she folded her arms and

slouched on the seat like a spoiled brat.

"Godmother, you don't have any idea how bossy Lawrence was. Or should I say is?" Alice laughed.

"He always decides everything by himself. The only chance I can bully him is with the help of Violet but

it's unfortunate that you won't even allow it," she continued and pretended to be sad.

"You're both bullies. I won't have a problem if you bully him one at a time. But if you start ganging up on

him, it would be too much," Cherry said, pointing her two fingers to her eyes and then to the two girls

as if warning them that she'd be watching.

"Mom, trust me when I say that no one can bully your son," Violet reassured her mom. She looked out

the window, puckered her lips, then said, "I'd still hope Lawrence will spoil me like he used to." Violet

could still remember how her brother supported her and tried to cover up for her mischievous actions at

times when they were young. Her heart leaped with joy as she recalled those times. She used to

believe that there was a person who truly and deeply loved her. But she started questioning his feelings

for her as time passed by.

Alice was about to say something when her phone suddenly rang. With her left hand holding the

steering wheel, she grabbed the phone on the passenger seat with her right hand. She quickly glanced

on the display screen to see the caller ID. It was from Tim.

She swiped to unlock the screen and answered the call. "Hello?"

"Hey Alice, what are you doing? Do you want to have lunch together?" Tim offered. His voice was so

loud that it could be heard from the phone even if he wasn't on speaker.

"I'm sorry Tim, but I have something else planned today so I can't have lunch with you," Alice declined. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Alice planned to have lunch with Cherry and Violet today to celebrate their homecoming, but she

couldn't tell Tim. She promised Violet that she wouldn't tell anyone that she was back. Even Greg didn't

know that Violet was already in the city.

"You didn't tell me you have something planned for today. Actually, Greg called me and invited us for

lunch today. You and me," Tim said.

Alice secretly glanced over Violet through the rearview mirror to see her reaction.

Violet could clearly hear what Tim said but she didn't say a word. She just looked out of the window

and pretended not to hear a thing.

Cherry was carefully studying her daughter's body language but didn't know what to say or do. Though

she couldn't make out what Alice and Tim were talking about, she knew it had something to do with

Greg because Alice couldn't tell Tim exactly where she was and what her plans were for that day.

"Alice? Are you still there?" Tim called when he didn't get a response from Alice after a few moments.

"Oh, is that so? Then send me the time and the address. I'll try to join you as soon as my appointment

is done," Alice replied. She had to make something up so that Tim wouldn't suspect. If he knew

something was off and found out about Violet, he would certainly tell Greg.

"Sure. And please make time to join us. Melisa will be there, so it'll be the four of us," Tim confirmed to

Alice.

Alice immediately replied, "Just send me the address. I'm driving so I can't talk right now. I need to

hang up."

Without waiting for Tim's response, Alice ended the call. She's afraid that Violet and Cherry heard the

name Melisa when Tim mentioned it and might get the situation wrong.

"Alice, don't mind us. Go and attend your business meeting. You can just drive us back home and we'll

be fine," Cherry reassured Alice.

"Don't worry, Godmother. It's nothing important. Tim just likes to call and check on me from time to time.

Besides, if there is nothing to do in the studio, then I'm free to do whatever I like with my time," Alice

replied.
