Chapter 74 What Did You Do
Chapter 74 What Did You Do
While she was in the car, Cherry thought for a while, and then said, "Stephen, could you please do me
a favor?"
He was confused, and thought to himself, 'What could she want from me?'
"What?" asked Stephen.
"Keep my pregnancy a secret, " said Cherry, "Don't tell the others, not even Jackson."
Stephen was very surprised, and as he looked at Cherry and kept driving, his face stiffened. He asked,
"Why do you want to hide this from him? Do you..."
But before he had the chance to finish his words, he was stopped by Cherry.
"Stephen, please don't ask me why. If you take me as your friend, then I hope that you will help me
hide this from him. I don't want a third person, or any other person, to know that I'm with child, " said
Cherry firmly.
Stephen, after a short silence, replied, "I get it."
Stephen didn't think too much of it, because as long as Cherry wanted to do something, he knew that
she certainly had some kind of plan. If she didn't want to say it to him, then he wouldn't insist on it. He
never wanted to force her to do anything; instead, he wanted to dote upon on her and do exactly as
she wished him to.
Cherry forced a smile. She said, "Thank you."
Stephen didn't care about her thanks, and instead asked, "Cherry, do you want to have an abortion?"
When he mentioned this, Cherry turned her head and looked out the window. Complex thoughts then
arose in her mind, and she said, "I haven't decided on it yet."
"But it's a baby, it still a life..." Stephen didn't have the heart to let Cherry get an abortion, and even if
she did have one, she had no idea of how painful it would be.
Cherry stopped him, and said, "Stephen, could you please leave me alone?" The last thing that she
wanted to do was to discuss about this child. A baby was indeed a gift from the heavens, but she was
not ready to accept it quite yet. She found herself suddenly pregnant, and wondered what should she
do? What the hell should she do next?
Stephen looked at Cherry, obeyed her wish and stopped talking.
After Stephen drove her to the front of the gate and parked the car, Cherry was ready to get out of it,
but when she looked out the window, she found that the lights in the house were on. Her heart
quivered, and she thought to herself, 'Has Jackson come back already?'
Cherry then saw that Jackson was actually standing at the gate, with an icy-cold and aggressive look
on his face.
Stephen also looked through Cherry's window and saw Jackson. His eyes met with his, and Stephen
was neither worried, nor afraid, because he didn't think that he had done anything wrong.
Jackson glared at the two sitting in the car and had mixed feelings about the whole scene, because
instead of finding her at home, Jackson found his wife sitting in another man's car.
Cherry also wasn't nervous, and simply said, "Stephen, remember your promise! Don't let other people
know about what we talked about!"
Stephen stared at Jackson, who was sitting not that far away from them, and said firmly, "Okay, I will."
Cherry calmed down after she heard Stephen's promise again, and opened the car's door and got out.
Stephen then drove away.
After she saw Stephen leave, Cherry turned around and started to walk towards her home, but when
she passed Jackson, he suddenly caught her arm.
Jackson furiously asked, "Where were you?"
Cherry tried to get out of his grasp, but she failed. She didn't want to struggle, and instead calmly
looked at Jackson, and said, "Didn't you see already? Why are you still asking?"
Jackson was unsatisfied with Cherry's reply. He stared at her, and said, "You can't bear the loneliness
when I'm not with you, and you have to go out and pick up guys, eh? The guy you chose for today was
Stephen. Am I right?"
Cherry didn't care at all about his words. Did it really matter that he was wrong about her? She had
longed for his concern and love, and loving him was very painful. If she couldn't get his heart, then
what else could she beg for?
Suddenly, in a toneless voice, Cherry said, "Jackson, you can go and meet Sally whenever you want.
Why do you care about my affairs if I don't care about yours? Don't you think that you should care more
about Sally?"
After she said this, Cherry looked into his eyes to see his reaction. As long as Jackson said that there
was nothing going on between him and Sally, perhaps she would believe him. She might also believe
that the true reason why Jackson would leave her and meet with Sally was that he cared about her as
a friend.
But Jackson said nothing, and just stared at Cherry.
She was completely disappointed by his reply, and she threw his hand away and entered the living
room.
Jackson then followed her and walked into the living room.
Cherry felt very tired, and she didn't have the energy to care about Jackson's unhappiness, and to Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
explain to him what she had done today.
She went directly upstairs, entered the bedroom, found her pajama, and walked into the bathroom to
take a bath.
Jackson stood at the bedroom's door, and when he heard that Cherry was taking a bath, he wanted to
run in on her, lecture her, and let her know who was her husband. How dared she meet Stephen
behind his back?
Jackson didn't walked in on her, and instead entered the bedroom, sat down on the bed, and waited for
Cherry to walk out of the bathroom.
When she finally came out, she was drying her hair, and saw that Jackson was sitting on the edge of
the bed. She continued to ignore him, and when her hair was almost completely dried, she just walked
to the other side of the bed, ready to go to bed.
When Jackson saw that Cherry continued to ignore him, he immediately got angry.
Jackson then quickly stood up, threw back the quilt off of her, and furiously asked, "Don't you think that
you should explain something to me?"
Cherry helplessly replied, "I have nothing to explain."
She then planned to go to sleep with her back turned to him.
Jackson suddenly seized her arm and pressed on her, and thought to himself, 'Have I spoiled her?'
Cherry quivered in terror because of him, and as she looked at Jackson, she asked, "What do you want
to do?"
"What do you think I'll do?" replied Jackson. When he saw Cherry act so nonchalant, he couldn't wait to
have sex with her.
"Jackson, I'm tired, and I want to rest, " said Cherry impatiently. She had no time, or energy, to play
with him.
"Oh, you're tired? What did you do with Stephen today?" asked Jackson. He still didn't let her go. How
could he possibly sleep if he didn't figure out what she had done with that man?
"I didn't do anything. Don't you believe me?" said Cherry. She really didn't want to continue arguing with
him like that.
"Do you think I'm stupid? If you didn't do anything, then why were you in his car?" Jackson didn't
believe her for a second, and instead continued, "I know what Stephen thinks better than anyone else.
Even better than him!"
Jackson knew exactly Stephen's purpose. He thought to himself, 'Stephen wants to take all that's
precious to me, but he'll never take Cherry away from me. I'll guard Cherry desperately, and leave no
chance for him to take her away from me.'
