Chapter 1051: Sentencing Me to Death Right Away?
Brandon had been about to ascend the stairs when he halted in his tracks upon hearing Anthony's
words. He knew Sandy had come all the way from Manches City and probably hadn't rested much yet.
The words she had said earlier echoed in his mind, causing a shadow to cross his features. He felt a
pang of concern for her, a pang of heartache.
After a brief hesitation, Brandon turned around and sat down on a nearby sofa. "I'll wait until she wakes
up."
Anthony frowned upon hearing Brandon's decision but chose not to say anything. The two men faced
each other in an impasse.
Time ticked by, and Sandy remained motionless, her absence of movement stretching for what felt like
hours.
Finally, after approximately two to three hours, footsteps were heard on the staircase.
Anthony turned to look in the direction of the sound.
Seeing that it was Sandy, Anthony stood up and took a step toward her. "Awake?"
Sandy murmured an acknowledgment, her gaze directed at the man by Anthony's side.
Anthony followed her gaze and glanced briefly at Brandon before softly informing Sandy, "He's been
here for a while."
Sandy approached Brandon, her eyes fixed on him. "What are you doing here?"
Brandon met her gaze. "I came to pick you up."
Sandy furrowed her brows. "No need. I have plans with Anthony. We have something to do later."
Anthony's eyebrows twitched slightly upon hearing Sandy's words, but he chose not to expose her lie.
"Sandy, I..."
"Brandon, were my words not clear enough? When I said I have something to do with Anthony later,
could you not behave like this?" Sandy's voice cut him off.
The words Brandon wanted to say got caught in his throat. Having known Sandy for so long and been
together for so long, this was the first time he had seen her like this.
"I can wait for you," Brandon said, his voice gentle. "If you have something with Mr. Austi, go handle it.
I'll wait here for you."
Anthony was about to interject, but Sandy spoke up before him. "Whatever you want."
After Sandy's response, she turned to Anthony and said in a low voice, "Let's go."
Upon hearing Sandy's words, Anthony cast a brief glance at Brandon's face, then quietly acquiesced,
"Let's go."
Sandy didn't spare Brandon another glance as she walked away. Brandon stood there, watching her
retreating figure, unable to put his feelings into words.
It felt like something had slipped through his fingers, something he desperately wanted to grasp.
Finally, when Sandy was about to step out of the threshold, Brandon couldn't hold back any longer and
followed her.
"Sandy."
Upon hearing the voice behind her, Sandy almost involuntarily halted her steps.
However, she didn't turn around.
Brandon closed the distance with a few strides and stood in front of Sandy. His tone was gentle. "I'll
come with you."
Only then did Sandy raise her eyes to look at Brandon, her gaze devoid of any emotion. "No need."
Brandon's emotions were stirred. He reached out and took hold of Sandy's hand. "Sandy, you're not
even giving me a chance to explain. Are you just sentencing me to death?"
Sandy looked directly at Brandon. "Do you think I'm sentencing you to death?"
As Brandon met Sandy's clear yet disappointed eyes, he found himself at a loss for words. At this All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
moment, any explanation he provided would seem like an excuse. He was acutely aware that his
silence could make the situation worse, but he also knew that no matter what he said, it would feel like
he was trying to justify himself.
The two of them stood face to face, locked in a silent standoff.
Breaking the silence, Anthony intervened, "Why don't you both sit down and talk again?"
Anthony's words disrupted the stillness. He intended to seize the opportunity, but he was not blind.
He could sense Sandy's feelings for Brandon. Even if she agreed to be with him now, becoming a "third
party" at a time like this would not lead to a lasting relationship. So, Anthony opted for a more prudent
approach.
After Anthony's suggestion, Sandy promptly declined, "No need. There's nothing left to talk about."
Upon hearing Sandy's response, Anthony cast a sidelong glance at her, initially intending to say
something, but he held his tongue.
He could be a gentleman in Sandy's presence, but he had no desire to maintain that façade in front of
Brandon.
Sandy withdrew her hand from Brandon's grasp, then turned to Anthony and softly called out,
"Anthony."
"Yes?" Anthony looked up.
Sandy's voice was barely audible. "Let's go."
Anthony acquiesced with a nod and headed in the direction of the parked car.
Sandy followed behind Anthony, while Brandon lagged a step behind Sandy.
The three of them headed towards the car in this peculiar arrangement.
When they reached the car, Sandy paused and turned to Brandon
. "Do you have anything else to do? If not, you can go back. Anthony and I really have something
important to attend to."
Sandy didn't wait for Brandon to respond. She turned away and opened the car door, getting inside.
After settling into the passenger seat, Sandy glanced at the diminishing figure in the rearview mirror.
Despite her best efforts, her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Though Anthony was driving, his gaze remained fixed on Sandy, capturing every nuance of her
expression.
This time, Anthony chose to remain silent.
After driving for a considerable distance, Sandy seemed to snap out of her reverie. She turned to
Anthony. "Take me to see that doctor you know."
Anthony glanced at Sandy and then turned his attention back to the road. "Are you sure?"
Sandy didn't directly answer his question. Instead, she asked a different one. "Is your doctor friend
qualified?"
Though Anthony and the other party were acquainted, they weren't as close as he was with someone
like Hiruma.
Upon hearing Sandy's question, Anthony briefly considered before responding, "Should be."
Sandy had something to say, but she hesitated and eventually swallowed her words. "Let's go check it
out."
Anthony acknowledged with a quiet "hm" and slightly accelerated the car, heading toward their
destination.
Before long, Anthony's phone began to ring.
Seeing the caller ID, he answered the call. "What's up?"
"Anthony, why is that Brandon still hanging around here? Should I chase him away?"
After a few seconds of silence upon hearing Hiruma's voice, Anthony spoke in a low voice, "Leave him
be."
Hiruma persisted, "He's just standing there like a statue, getting in the way. Should I..."
"Hiruma." Anthony cut him off, repeating his earlier words, "Leave him be."
Sensing Anthony's tone, Hiruma understood that Anthony had no intention of removing Brandon. He
decided not to push further.
Before ending the call, Anthony asked, "When will you arrive over there?"
