Chapter 1043: I'm Starting to Doubt Whether I Want This Child

Sandy shook his head. "It's unnecessary. When someone doesn't trust you, no matter how much you

say, it's just seen as covering up, explaining, and denying their own wrongdoing."

Yanis listened to Sandy's words, her mouth slightly agape, not quite sure what to say.

After all, Yanis's understanding of Brandon came mainly from Zane and Sandy. Amidst all the recent

events, she hadn't had much time to focus on what was happening between Sandy and Brandon.

In this moment, the comforting words Yanis had in mind seemed unable to find their way out after

meeting Sandy's gaze.

The two sat on the bench for a while, and finally, Sandy broke the silence. "Yanis, I... I'm starting to

doubt whether I want to keep this child."

Initially, when Sandy found out about the pregnancy, she was overjoyed. The child was a result of her Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

love with Brandon. She even considered leaving the entertainment industry for the sake of the child

and Brandon. When Brandon suggested she temporarily step away from the industry, she readily

agreed without much thought, wanting to put his mind and the Hawkins family at ease.

But now, she suddenly felt that her persistence was too burdensome for others. Was it fair for her to

insist on her choices, regardless of others' feelings?

The timing of this pregnancy wasn't ideal, and it seemed to have brought a stream of problems. Yanis's

gaze focused on Sandy. "What are you saying?"

Sandy repeated his words, "I'm saying, I'm starting to doubt whether I want to keep this child."

Yanis's attention was fully captured this time. "Sandy, you really need to think this through. The child is

innocent."

Sandy spoke softly, "I don't want my child to grow up without a father or in a broken family. So, maybe

it's better to end this possibility early."

Yanis looked at Sandy, silent for a few seconds before speaking, "Have you really thought this through?

If you're not planning to keep the child, have you considered Mr. Hawkins's feelings? How will you

handle things between you and Mr. Hawkins?"

"We can always break up."

Throughout the time Sandy was with Brandon, she had never mentioned the possibility of breaking up.

Even when they had disagreements, it usually didn't escalate beyond playful biting.

Yet, she could be quite stubborn.

After all, their age gap and differences in lifestyle were significant. Brandon had a strict bedtime of

10:30 PM, while she often stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. He rose before 7 AM, and she

slept until noon on her days off.

Their differences extended to various aspects of their lives, and despite their efforts, there was a sense

of incongruity.

Perhaps their relationship had progressed thanks to Brandon's indulgence and compromises. However,

if Brandon ever grew distant or lost patience, it could very well mark the end of their relationship.

Yanis quietly listened to Sandy, then responded, "Is Mr. Hawkins's situation still unresolved?"

Sandy shook his head. "I don't know. He didn't say anything, and... I didn't ask."

In the past, Sandy might have gone to check on Brandon, to find out what was happening. But this

time, circumstances had shifted. Brandon faced his own issues, and Stella needed her attention. She

couldn't leave Stella alone to deal with everything.

Thus, regardless of whether it was selfishness or a lack of sufficient love for Brandon, Sandy's choice

would always be Stella.

After hearing Sandy out, Yanis stayed silent for a few moments before speaking, "Sandy, if that's the

case, why not go and talk to him face-to-face? Even if you're certain about ending things, it's better to

have a clear conversation. It will be easier in the long run and avoid lingering uncertainties."

Sandy looked at Yanis. "Should I go to Viteto?"

Yanis met his gaze. "Are you avoiding it, or are you afraid?"

The truth was, Sandy was afraid. He feared that Brandon had genuine feelings for the other woman,

that their connection ran deep, and that a misunderstanding had led to their separation. Now that the

misunderstanding had been cleared, Sandy was scared that Brandon would choose her over him.

After a long pause, Sandy finally admitted, "Yanis, I'm afraid."

"If it's been on your mind, why not go and have a direct conversation? Clear things up," Yanis

encouraged.

Sandy remained silent for a while longer. "I know what I need to do now."

Yanis acknowledged with a hum, "Have you had lunch?"

Sandy shook his head. "I'll treat you."

Yanis was about to respond when her phone rang.

It was a call from Zane.

Yanis answered, "Zane?"

"Where are you?"

"Sandy had something to discuss, so I'm with him. Did you see the message I sent you?" Yanis

whispered.

Zane replied, "Where are you? Send me the location, I'll come over."

"Are you done with work?" Yanis inquired.

Zane confirmed, "I'm done."

Yanis looked at Sandy and declined Zane's offer, whispering, "Zane, don't come over. Sandy and I are

together. I'll come find you at the company later."

After a few seconds of silence on the other end, Zane agreed, "Alright."

Before ending the call, Zane reminded Yanis to eat on time.

"Okay, let's go with Sandy now," Yanis said.

Sandy stood up, and they went to a Chinese restaurant together. Both of them didn't eat much. Sandy's

mind was preoccupied, while Yanis felt a bit nauseous and had a diminished appetite.

"How's your sister doing these days?" After leaving the restaurant, Yanis turned her head to Sandy and

softly asked.

Sandy responded in a hushed tone, "She's okay, but she hasn't gone to the store much in the past

couple of days. She's

been staying at home."

"Let's go see her later," Yanis suggested.

Sandy nodded, "Sure."

As they headed upstairs to Stella's place, they found Meggie there as well.

"Meggie," Sandy greeted Meggie softly upon entering the room.

Meggie looked up at Sandy and Yanis. "I didn't know you guys were here. I didn't bring much food, but

should I order some takeout for you?"

Sandy replied, "No need. We've already eaten, and I brought some food for my sister. Since you

brought extra, she can have the food you sent."
