After a moment of hesitation, Lily strode over to the car. The door swung open, and she stepped inside,

nodding politely in Eloise’s direction.

She was unsure if Nathaniel’s mysterious mother knew about their relationship. It did not matter

anyway, as everything was in the past. Facing this past potential mother–in–law, she felt only calm and

nothing else.

Meanwhile, Eloise had been observing Lily. She had a unique youthful vibe and smelled lovely. The

scent was not strong nor the usual fruity smell loved by many girls. It smelled natural, but there was

also a trace of fragrance Eloise could not name. After smelling the scent Lily carried, Eloise felt her

frustration subdued, and she was less anxious, too.

“Mrs. Tanner, what is it that you want to tell me? You can tell me now, and we can save you. the hassle

of finding a proper place for us to talk. In fact, this is the most suitable place for you,” Lily said, looking

out the window.

Her words made Eloise smirk. “You’re smart.”

After all, Eloise was the most famous actress of her time. Even after she retired from the industry and

married a wealthy man, there would still be paparazzi on her tail no matter where she went.

Over the years, nothing much had been captured as Eloise had been on guard and taken proper

precautions whenever she was out. However, the paparazzi were getting smarter, and she never knew

“Drive slower,” Eloise ordered and pressed a button, raising the divider between the front and back

seats, creating a private space for them to talk.

Eloise’s car was a Toyota Alphard, and there was ample space for them to converse comfortably. She

took out two cans of drink from the mini fridge and handed one over to Lily. Lily shook her head.

“Thanks. I don’t need it.”

“I know a little about perfumers, and you guys greatly value and protect your sense of smell. Don’t

worry. This is just soda water and not alcohol. It’s good for your health if consumed in appropriate

volumes.” Eloise paused and chuckled before continuing, “You’re not thinking I’ll use dirty tricks on you,

are you?”

Lily averted her gaze to the can of soda water. Then, she took it and opened the can before taking a

small sip. After that, she just held the can in her hand.

Eloise said nothing about it. She just drank two sips from her own and then looked up, thinking about

how to start the conversation. At least, that was how it seemed.

“I’m sure Mr. Will told you why I wanted to talk to you. I want you to create a type of perfume, just for

me exclusively.” Looking at Lily, Eloise got straight to the point. “Just tell me how much it’ll cost. I’ll

make sure you’re satisfied.”

“Sorry, I can’t do that. Mrs. Tanner, perhaps you might need to find someone else, a more skillful

perfumer, to help you with your request.” Lily rejected Eloise on the spot, which would

be easier than rejecting Eloise with the company’s help.

Eloise’s gaze flickered. “Why? You have ill feelings toward me?”

“Of course not,” Lily said. “To me, a perfumer would need to understand their customers well, from their

personality, likes and dislikes, as well as hobbies, to create a perfume for them. That’s necessary for

the perfumer to create an ideal and suitable perfume for the customer.”

“It’s that complicated?” Eloise turned to the side to look at Lily. Her gaze was doubtful.

“Creating fragrances may seem easy, but every perfumer has their own understanding and rules

toward the subject. What I said is how I look at my job. That is why I rejected your offer. and suggested
