CHAPTER TEN
”Wow, you look like a human, dumbass,” Phoenix said.
“It’s just not obvious, sucker,” Zeus seconded.
“Don’t make fun of him and it’s his wedding,” Dane said.
Margot and I are at the hotel, we are getting ready to go to church. Excited? Maybe yes because I’m getting married. But at the same time, it doesn’t seem to be either. My emotions are a mess and I don’t what I really feel right now.
“What are you feeling right now, twat?” Blaze asked so I gasped.
“To be honest, I don’t know” I don’t feel anything. All I want is for it to be finished. I missed talking to Margot because we haven’t seen each other for three days. We talked on the phone to say hello to Umami. Sometimes she puts it on her stomach and I talk to Umami and sing a lullaby, so he can recognize my voice when he came out.
“Can we talk?” I glanced at the door where Maggie just entered. She’s carrying Joker in her arms and gives it to Blaze.
“What is it all about, love?” Blaze asked his wife.
“Nothing, I just want to welcome Jace into our family,” she replied and look at me. “Can we, Jace?”
“We’ll just wait for you outside,” Dane said and went out first followed by the others.
“What are we going to talk about, Mag?” She just stood at the door and closed it. I looked in the mirror to adjust my bow tie.
“I don’t like you to be my brother-in-law,” she said without hesitation.
“I don’t like you to be my sister-in-law as well but I have no choice.” Who gave her the idea that I like her to be my in-law? I didn’t even want her to be Blaze’s wife.
“And I don’t like you to be my sister’s husband, and for sure, you don’t want her to be your wife either.”
“Get to the point,” I just said plainly.
“Back-out of this wedding,” she firmly said.
“What?” I frowned because of what she said, this marriage has nothing to do with her, why is she interfering?
“You don’t love my sister, so why would you tie her to you?” I can feel her anger while saying those words to me.
“This has nothing to do with you.” I just calmly said
“I’m warning you —”
“Are you threatening me, Maggie? Because I’m not scared.”
“Warn, not threat, fool. A reminder not to threaten stupid. You don’t know, Margot. If you hurt her now and admit to her you don’t love her she will still forgive you. But if you tie her to lies and hurt her later. I’m sure you won’t like the result.”
“It’s not you to decide on this wedding, Maggie. This is what you want, isn’t it? I’m going to raise my child and stand up for Margot. I do it. This is it, I’m going to marry her.”All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“And Brianna?”
“You’re out of that problem, Maggie.”
“My sister is involved here.”
“The wedding is about to start, let’s end this nonsense conversation.”
“One of them you’ll lose, Jace.”
“Stop messing with us, focus on your own family.”
“Margot, is my family.”
“She will be my wife soon.”
“I will do my best, that one of them will lose you, and wait for it. If it’s Brianna, it’s better. But if my sister loses you, you’re miserable. As I said, you don’t know, Margot and what she can do.” She approached me holding me by the tie. “Margot is different from me. She’s stronger than you thought and more ass when she’s hurt and no one will like it. Not me, and even you. You won’t like her to get mad. Welcome to the family and congratulations brother-in-law. ” Then she came out.
What is she saying? I understand she loves his sister but — no—I’m ok with Margot. We’re ok somehow. Even though I was just upset because I got her pregnant, our relationship was smooth. Brianna and I were ok too and I knew she was just there.
Yes, selfish if selfish. But I am not yet ready to let go of any of them. I love Brianna and Margot is the mother of my child.
THE WEDDING started and one by one of the entourage entered. I can’t do anything. I just feel normal. I was not excited, nor disappointed. Just chill though.
When Margot came in, I was nervous. I don’t know if it was because of Maggie threatening me or someone else. After Margot, I caught Brianna who was also entering the church. That’s why I was nervous because she was also here? But it doesn’t seem like every time my eye catches Margot, I feel different.
The wind blew me away. Brianna should be the one walking there. She must be the one I meet here. She must be with me now. I looked away from Brianna when Margot came in front of me. I smiled at her and helped her sit up until the wedding began.
“Jace Enrile, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and keep her in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall alive?”
All I know is that Brianna is just here. My voice doesn’t seem to come out. The difficulty answered.
“I do,”
“Margot Dela Merced, do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and keep her in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall alive? ”
I didn’t hear any answer from Margot so I looked at her.
“Margot?” I looked at Maggie who just shrugged. I also looked at the priest and my mommy and my friends.
“I’ll repeat Mi —-”
“Jace.” The priest did not finish what he was going to say when Margot covered the microphone with her hand and looked at me.
“Margot, is there a problem?”
“You’re the one I want to ask what answer should I give. Should I say yes?” It was just weak and just enough for the two of us to hear.
“What are you saying?”
“Should we pursue this?” I swallowed and looked at Maggie. I remember what she told me earlier at the hotel. Her warning especially now that Margot looks really serious with her question. “You decide, Jace. What should I answer? Yes, or I will leave?”
“Margot?” I looked at Brianna. If I told Margot to leave would Brianna and I be free? How’s my Umami?
“Everyone is waiting Jace, because if I’m the one to follow, my answer is yes. But I want to be sure from you if I should pursue this? Maybe you’re just being forced and you want something else to happen. Maybe there’s something else you want to fight for and give in. I will give you a chance, well at least we can be friends and both raise Umami.” I don’t know what she wants to convey but —-.
“Yes, Margot, for Umami and for me.” It cannot be stopped. Not because of cost, or shame. It was for Umami and as I said—– I will fight Umami against anyone.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure that I want you to be my wife.”
“I do,” she replied as he removed his hand from the microphone. You can’t back down Margot. I cannot lose my right to my child.
