Chapter 3156
"You are still young, and you can be quite reckless."
"I might be young, but I'm far from reckless. I grew up with my grandma, and I've been through a lot. I'd like to think I'm more mature than people my age."
Lucas was instantly rendered speechless.
"Lucas, I still remember everything that happened between us three years ago like it was yesterday. I will remember them for the rest of my life because I won't ever return to life as difficult as before. If you were willing to help me out back then, when I was at my lowest, then I have every reason to believe that you will treat me well now."
"I didn't do much. You just exaggerate what I did because there weren't that many people who treated you with kindness back then."
"You paid off my debt behind my back, didn't you? Do you do that for everyone?" Ivy retorted.
Lucas pursed his lips.
"You once said something that really moved me. You said that you'll still keep me as your nanny when you start earning money. I'm sure you thought someone like me might have trouble finding a job in the future. Worried that I wouldn't have the means to support myself, you wanted to take care of me... You were truly kind to me."
"Let's not talk about that." Lucas' face flushed.
"Lucas, what I need the least right now is money, so I don't really care if you'll make a lot of it." Ivy held onto Lucas' hand. "But I know you have your own dignity to uphold, so let's take things slow."
"I won't consider marriage until after I turn thirty," Lucas stated.
"What if you become wildly successful by 25?" she challenged.
Blushing, he said, "Then I'll wait until I'm 25 to decide."
Ivy burst into laughter.
Hand in hand, they walked along the road for a long time.
The next day, tvy decided to buy a gift for Lucas mother. As her time was limited, and Lucas mentioned she used to love dressing up before she felt ill, Ivy asked Caspian to accompany her on a shopping spree.
Ivy knew that Caspian did not have much to do at the company, so pulling him out of the office would not affect operations.
After telling Lucas of his plans, Caspian went out to meet Ivy.
When they crossed paths on the street, Ivy asked Caspian, "Did you talk to Lucas?"
"Sure did! I told him you asked me out, and he didn't say much," Caspian replied.
"Oh! How did he look at the time?" Ivy pressed.
"Well... he didn't have any particular

"He told you about my identity, right?" Ivy inquired.

"Yep! We're closer than blood brothers! He tells me everything!" Caspian grinned. "I strongly advised him to go to Aryadelle with you, but he's still hesitating."
"Thank you! I want to take him to Aryadelle as well, but he's dealing with something internally that he needs to overcome first."
"He definitely can't go to Aryadelle right now with his mother here," Caspian noted.
"I know. I'm not going to take him away now. I wanted you to accompany me to buy new clothes for his mother, actually."
"She's in the hospital every day,

though, so she won't be able to wear her new clothes." Caspian scratched his head in confusion. "But I guess you have money to spare. Buy away! His mother will definitely be thrilled by your gifts."
"True," Ivy replied, unconcerned about the expense. As long as it brought some happiness to Lucas' mother, it was worth it.
