Chapter 3113
Ivy took a deep breath. "Irene told me."
"What else did she tell you?" Lucas asked.
Ivy's heart raced. "Why do you want to know? Did you care for her, Mr. Woods?"
Lucas flushed, and he instantly spoke out of pride, "Forget it! I'm going to sleep."
She nodded. "Go ahead! Should I wake you up later?"
"No."
Once Lucas returned to the bedroom, Ivy started tidying the dining table and went to the balcony to check the couch cover.
Noticing that it was completely dry, she took it inside and placed the cover back onto the couch. She sat on the couch and got out her phone.
She had boldly decided that she would not return home for the time being.
Of course, she would definitely go back home when her older brother got married, but after attending the wedding, she would return to Taronia. She liked Lucas, and she was very sure of her feelings.
Lucas had gotten her grandmother's bracelet, but he hadn't told her about it. When she thought about it, she guessed that he had not said anything because she had assumed that it had been Sam who had paid off her debt. Lucas must have been angry about that, which lead him to distance himself from her. Even when Lucas had decided to go to Edelweiss to study, he had not allowed her to see him off.
Looking back, Ivy saw that they had both been rather naive. However, she still cherished that part of her life.
Lucas had cared a great deal about her, and even if it was just out of sympathy, it did not matter at all.
She wanted to stay in Taronia and see if Lucas would fall in love with her.
Holding her phone, Ivy hesitated for a moment before messaging her mother. [Mom, I won't come home for the time being. I'll return when Hayden is about to get married.]
Upon receiving the message, Avery immediately called her and spoke in an anxious voice. "Ivy, why did you change your mind? What happened?"NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Ivy's cheeks flushed as she said, "Mom, I realized that I really like Lucas. I want to be with him."
"Why the sudden decision to stay? Did you tell him that you were Irene?"
"No. I haven't told him," Ivy said. "I discovered today that Lucas once did me a great favor, but he said nothing to me. I found out on my own. He treated me well, and even though I'm no longer Irene, I, I am still
the same person inside. I can't erase my past."
As Ivy choked with emotion, Avery's heart softened. "Ivy, don't cry. I understand how you feel. If you want to stay in Taronia, stay for now. It's been three years since you last saw him, so spend more time with him. You can't really judge a person's character in such a short period of time."
Ivy wiped away her tears and forced a smile. "Thank you, Mom! Right now, I'm just sure that I really like him, but won't rush into making significant decisions. I will definitely discuss it with you before making any important choices."
Avery said softly, "Sure. I know you're a sensible child, but your dad and I might come to Taronia since you have decided to stay there for a while more."
"Are you coming now? Can't you wait for a while? Aren't you busy preparing for Hayden's wedding?" Ivy asked.
"Even if we don't come right now, we'll send someone to check on you," Avery said.
