It hurts!
Bryce was silent for a moment so the smile on Jenica’s lips widened. Her eyes narrowed and stared at the man. “You don’t have to be afraid of those leeches. They’re not the main Mondragon family because I found out that Bree Mondragon, her father, and some of the board of directors are just third grade Mondragon.”
Bryce’s expression darkened. “You mean they want to eat my company because they can’t compete in the South?”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“If not, then why do they have to be leeches in your company?” She chuckled. “The main family is not concerned about what the other branch is doing so they might not know that the third Mondragon branch is garnering influence in the North. If this third branch is playing in the capital, the main family might do something to stop them .”
The capital is a tricky place for those who want to establish power and influence from the other places. One wrong step and everything might crumble under the power of the most influential families that control the government and the economy in the capital. It’s a deep water and Jenica knows that Mondragon is not ready to enter the capital’s pool of powers.
“What should I do?” Bryce asked with a clenched fist.
“Tear them apart and watch those dogs bark at each other,” Jenica replied with a smile. When she saw Bryce frowning even more, she laughed softly. She grabbed the phone from her pocket. “Do you know that your so-called fiancee is one of the third branch young misses?”
“Yes. The Mondragon Patriarch agreed to this engagement.”
Jenica stared at the phone for a few seconds before smiling and raising her face to look at the man. “Do you know how Irene Mondragon and Joseph Antonete met?”
“Joseph Antonete?” Bryce’s eyes narrowed. “That bastard,” his teeth clenched together. “What about him?”
Jenica didn’t answer Bryce’s question and just looked in the direction of the server room door. A few moments later, it opened and Jenica heard the quick footsteps of heels on the floor.
“Bryce!” shouted a familiar voice. The edge of Jenica’s lips curled. After a while, Irene’s dark expression appeared in front of them. “How dare you cheat behind my back!”
“Irene,” greeted Bryce. “I told you to stop looking for me at the company. And where’s my sister-in-law?”
“Stop looking for you? Why? So you can chase after this b*tch’s ass?!”
“Irene!” scolded the man. “Don’t make a scene here.”
Irene laughed. The woman threw sharp glares at her and Jenica shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t expect that Bree’s actions were faster than a cheetah.
“I’m making a scene?” Irene burst out laughing. “Should I just smile while my fiance is doing nasty things with a woman?”
Bryce’s two eyebrows met. “What nonsense are you spouting?”
“Nonsense? My fiance is with a woman in this room and people are talking behind my back!” shouted Irene.
Jenica sighed. “We’re innocent,” she said.
“Shut up!” Irene snorted at her then turned her gaze to Bryce again. “What do you think you’re doing, Bryce? A lot of people saw you chasing after this woman and you even brought her inside this room! They are saying that you are cheating behind my back and I didn’t believe it at first but what’s this?”
“Go back home, Irene.”
“No! I want to know what are you two doing!”
The wrinkles on Bryce’s forehead deepened. “We’re talking confidential things about the company. It’s not convenient for you to hear it, Irene. Go back.”
“What are you saying? I’ll be your wife someday so I have the right to hear it!” shouted Irene. Jenica laughed so the woman’s evil look turned to her. “B*tch! You have the guts to laugh at me?!”
“I’m laughing at you, so what?” she said with a smile. The corner of Bryce’s lips twitched but eventually he didn’t scold her.
Irene clenched her fist and quickly rushed towards her. Jenica’s eyes narrowed. She side-stepped, making Irene fall forward when she tried to push her back. Irene yelped but no matter what, Bryce didn’t go forward to save her.
The woman fell to the cold floor, face first. A few nasty curses came out of the woman’s mouth as she stood up and quickly rush at Jenica again.
Bryce saw his fiancee acting like a madwoman and attacking Code X. He wanted to stop his fiancee but he thought otherwise and didn’t move. He knew that Code X has the ability to defend herself and he wants to watch it with his eyes. Seeing a helpless expression on Code X’s face, Bryce chuckled in amusement.
Irene’s eyes narrowed and stood straight for a moment. Jenica raised her eyebrows when she felt Irene’s aura change. Earlier, Irene was like a madwoman but now, it seemed like Jenica is facing a master in martial art.
‘Hmm, interesting,’ she said in her mind and prepared herself.
Irene rushed and a glint flashed in Jenica’s eyes. They exchanged attacks and she couldn’t help but be surprised by the woman’s attacks. The woman was attacking her vital parts that could kill her in an instant when hit. First attempt was a coincidence, but consecutive attacks on her vital parts were not. Irene really wanted to kill her. Jenica looked deeper at the woman while defending.
Bryce seemed to notice something’s wrong so he immediately spoke. “That’s enough, Irene.”
But the woman didn’t seem to hear him. It continued to attack and Jenica squinted, staring at Irene’s bloodshot eyes. The corners of her lips curled up.
When Irene raised her right leg to kick her side, Jenica caught the woman’s foot and raised it above the woman’s head. Irene’s eyes widened as pain hit her. Standing with one foot while the other is raised overhead, Irene had no choice but to turn her body and raise her left leg to kick Jenica’s face.
Jenica chuckled and let go of Irene’s foot making the woman almost fell face first again. Irene put her palm on the floor and pushed her body up. Irene knew that she couldn’t win over Jenica so she tried to escape. But before she could get away, Jenica was already standing behind her.
‘Little fox,’ said Jenica in her mind.
Chuckling, she hit Irene’s sleep acupoint. Irene’s knees wobbled and Jenica immediately caught her. She peeked over her shoulder and frowned at Bryce. “Mr. Desmana, don’t you pity a weak female like me? Should you come and pick your fiancee up?”
The corner of his lips twitched. Phew! Weak? That lady’s hand had hit his fiancee unconscious. He did realize that Code X was truly not an ordinary woman, to be able to protect herself amidst having a sensitive identity that both private and the government institutions were afraid of.
Jenica let Bryce lift Irene onto his arms. They left the server room together while the man carried the unconscious woman. Jenica raised her eyebrows when she saw five men waiting outside, all wearing blue uniforms.
When they saw Bryce, they bowed and greeted him. Jenica followed Bryce who just nodded at the men. “Who are they?” she asked.
“Workers on that room. I didn’t let them enter earlier.”
Oh. So that’s why there was no one inside the server room. It turned out Bryce let them out and Jenica didn’t notice when the Bryce sent the order. Anyway, it’s not the urgent problem right now. She looked at the sleeping Irene. “Something’s wrong with your fiancee. It’s better to check her condition.”
“Okay. I’ll call the family doctor over.”
“No need,” she said and stepped closer to Bryce to whisper to him. “Don’t let anyone find out that she fainted in my hands.”
The man’s sharp gaze turned to Jenica so she smiled at him. Bryce snorted and walked to the private elevator. The man took her to the top floor and onto his office.
Bryce went straight to a secret door on the side of the office and went inside. Jenica’s lips curled and quickly followed the man. She saw a clean room with a king sized bed in the middle.
Bryce laid Irene on the bed before he turned to her. “What are you planning now?” he asked.
She waved her hand and walked close to the bed. She leaned slightly to take Irene’s pulse. After a while, she looked back at Bryce. “Someone tampered with your fiancee’s meal. A kind of dr*g that will make someone highly agitated. That’s why she looks like a madwoman earlier. If I didn’t find out that something’s wrong with her and make her sleep, that drug will damage a part of her brain making her a useless fool.”
“What? Such a thing is possible?” Bryce asked dumbfounded. He stared at his fiancee sleeping on his bed with a complicated expression.
Jenica clicked her tongue. “I didn’t know you’ll lose your composure because of this woman.”
Bryce sighed and looked away. “Even if she’s a Mondragon, she’s still my fiancee. I don’t want to see her become a fool.”
“Hmm… That’s why I ask you if you know how Irene Mondragon and Joseph Antonete met.”
“Why are you asking me? That bastard is not a simple handicapped,” Bryce said with clenched fists. His jaw clenched.
Seeing his angry face, Jenica’s eyes flashed with a glint. “Then what’s your relationship with that Joseph?”
“My rival in everything!” Bryce snorted angrily. “He always steals what’s mine and that bastard almost ruined the Desmana Group.”
“I see. Then do you —”
“He is Irene’s ex-boyfriend.” An evil grin appeared on Bryce’s lips. “The reason why I didn’t oppose them shoving this woman’s ass in my life. I will make that bastard vomit blood when I bed his woman!”
Jenica laughed so Bryce turned to her. She grabbed the phone from her pocket and opened it. She threw the phone his way and the man caught it mid air. “What’s this?” he asked and looked down at the phone.
“Don’t be too hasty in your plan. Before you marry his woman, Joseph Antonete has slept with your fiancee last week. He’s truly a remarkable handicapped,” she said sarcastically.
Bryce took a deep breath and casually threw the cell phone on the floor. Jenica looked deeper and moved quickly to catch the phone before it broke. What a joke! It’s a limited edition phone that she bought in the US during her last mission. She doesn’t want to buy a phone again just because there is a man who can’t control his own anger.
“That bastard!” Bryce shouted and angrily turned to the sleeping girl. He quickly approached the bed. He removed the blanket and shove Irene to the floor.
“Oh! Ouch! It hurts!” Irene shouted as she abruptly sat and glared at Bryce.
