Chapter 858 Rufus' Warning to Thomas
Chapter 858 Rufus' Warning to Thomas
On Friday morning, after sending the children to school, Winnie went to the company to work. She
rushed over to the police station before noon, and it was lunch time after the matter was dealt with.
Winnie went to the cafeteria to eat alone, and took what she liked before sitting down, and a woman's
voice sounded.
"Can I sit here?"
The woman's voice was familiar and Winnie looked up.
"It's you! Sit down."
Winnie was surprised but was also a little resistant. However, Winnie couldn't refuse her.
Diana was more enthusiastic than Winnie.
"Thank you for allowing me to have lunch with you, beauty."
Diana talked with a smile, put down the plate in her hand and sat down.
"Don't call me that way. With so many young and beautiful girls, I have no pretensions to be a beauty."
Winnie cooperated with Diana's joke. She and Diana had only met once, and their relationship was not
close enough to make jokes.
"You are too modest. Two days after I was transferred to the police station, I heard that your
appearance is unmatched. Needless to say, our male colleagues, even the little girls who have just
graduated and assigned here admire you."
Diana didn't usually say so much, but she couldn't control her excitement when she saw Winnie today.
She opened her mouth and didn't want to shut up, which was not in line with her profession.
"Stop teasing me, it's not as exaggerated as you said."
"By the way, why are you here for two days? I heard that you would be here in a few days."
Winnie changed the subject because she didn't know if Diana's joke was some kind of psychological
prying. Anyway, she didn't dare to confess her emotions when she was with Diana.
"The transfer order has been issued long ago, and I've finished dealing with things there. I came in
advance to get familiar with the situation, but I haven't officially started yet. If you have time, we can go
out and play."
Diana couldn't wait to come here. She wished that she would come to work here when Finn came over.
"What I lack most is time. I even have no time for lunch. I have to go out after eating. I will ask you out
when I have time in a few days."
Winnie declined gently, and she really didn't have any extra time.
"No problem, I have plenty of time. Call me at any time. By the way, the Director Poole asked you to go
to his office. You'd better not leave after you have eaten lunch."
Diana almost forgot about the matter, but fortunately Winnie said that she was leaving later. Otherwise,
the task would not be completed.
Winnie didn't answer, but looked at the time.
"Well, I'll go to find him in a while."
There was still a little time left, but she couldn't waste too much time eating, otherwise this little time
would be lost.
Winnie went directly to Finn's office after eating. Winnie thought it was an official business, but did not
expect it to be a research matter.
"Why didn't you go? The chance is hard won."
Finn's voice was mild. He felt that it was a pity for Winnie not to go and opportunity was rare. He didn't
mean to blame Winnie.
"Something happened suddenly at home and I can't go. From now on I will take care of the children
wholeheartedly."
Finn didn't blame Winnie, but Winnie felt sorry. She knew it was a rare opportunity, and she knew that
Finn had worked hard to get this opportunity.
But in this case, her choice could only disappoint Finn.
"Then, have you graduated from the Police University in C City?"
Finn didn't ask specifically. Winnie's ambiguity proved that she didn't want to say it. Now he knew that
Winnie must have a last resort.
"Yes, I learned a lot."
Winnie didn't want to graduate either, and wanted to go out to avoid Brian, but she had no choice.
"Did you bring back everything there?"
Finn still asked some unimportant questions. In fact, he didn't have any important things to ask,
otherwise he would just call Winnie instead of asking Diana to tell her.
"No, I just ask my classmates to help me pack and express it back."
"Director Poole, I am still anxious to go back to the company to see a client, or should we talk about it
another day?"
Winnie felt that Finn had nothing important to say, and she had no time, so she could only say she had
to leave now.
"OK, I will call you if I have something to do."
Finn hurriedly sent Winnie away.
He knew that Winnie would be very busy as soon as she came back, and would have no free time.
However, he only said a few words, and felt that he had a lot to say.
Hospital.
Rufus wanted to call Thomas over for a chat, and Thomas came by himself before he could call.
"Rufus, how do you feel today?"
Thomas said as he walked to Rufus' side.
"Fine."
Rufus answered calmly, but his feeling was a bit complicated.
He had been thinking about talking to Thomas, but once he talked about it, Thomas who was already
suspicious would be more skeptical.
But if he left it alone, this kind of thing would happen again. This quarrel ended with his fainting. Who
could guarantee that the next time would not annoy Brian.
In a dilemma, Rufus must weigh it.
"When will you be discharged from the hospital? Or just stay in the hospital, just as a recuperation."
Rufus looked pale and he was a little thinner than the day he was hospitalized. He had been
recuperating these day. Why the treatment didn't work, but his condition was serious?
"Listen to the doctor. When I will be discharged from the hospital depends on the doctor."
Rufus didn't know when he would go home, but the doctor had not mentioned his discharge from the
hospital, and he had been taking medication these days.
"Rufus, are you still angry about what happened that day. I am sorry. I apologize to you for Maria."
Thomas wanted to apologize for a long time. His purpose was not to hurt Rufus, and he was a little
unbearable. But there were too many people last time, and he was too embarrassed to apologize.
Today, Rufus was in the ward alone. This was the best opportunity to apologize.
"Rufus, Maria is stupid. You have known her well. Don't go down to her lever. When I went home that
night, I scolded her."
"In fact, she wants to come and see you too, but she feels ashamed to face you."
Thomas put the blame on Maria, only to say they were wrong that day, but not mention the origin of
that matter.
"Thomas, since you mentioned it, let's have a talk."
Rufus was worried about whether or not to mention that matter and how to mention it. It happened that
Thomas took the initiative to mention it, and he took the opportunity to begin his words.
"Let's not talk about my fainting, I didn't take it too seriously. I have understood Maria's character for so
many years, but this time she did a little too much. She was obviously unreasonable."
"I don't know if she did it on purpose. I invited Winnie and Vanessa. In this case, was she too much?"
"She didn't respect me. Do you think I am dispensable, too?"
At the end Rufus's voice was cold, he hadn't exposed his hostility for many years. But today he couldn't
help it. He had to make Thomas know that he was not weak and easily bullied.
"Rufus, you can't think like this. Maria has no other meaning, and I have no other meaning. No matter
when you are my eldest brother. How could I despise you?"
Thomas quickly explained, because he felt Rufus's infrequent anger and indifference.
Rufus said that it didn't matter, but he was very concerned and dissatisfied with this matter. He even
warned Thomas, which showed that he had begun to doubt him.
This time it was indeed he who instigated Maria, but he did not expect that Maria would make things so
serious and so uncontrollable that she would annoy Rufus.
Seeing Rufus have no reaction, he continued to explain.
"Rufus, Maria was actually angry that you didn't go home for the festival. She prepared the things for
the festival many days in advance, thinking about to spend a happy festival with us. However, you did
not go back because of Winnie and Vanessa."
"She was upset because she was disappointed. Don't be angry." ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Rufus listened to Thomas' explanation. Whether it was true or false, he wanted to believe that Thomas'
explanation was true. But Thomas didn't say the crux of the problem, or he didn't care the most hurt
person, so he didn't mention Winnie.
"I can understand Maria's mood, and I don't blame her when I fainted. But Winnie became her vent
point for no reason. She should apologize to Winnie."
"I invited her. No matter what her identity, she is my guest. She was so disrespectful to my guests and
rude and unreasonable in my house. I can't accept it. ""
Rufus mentioned Winnie deliberately, and expressed formally and seriously about his attitude towards
this matter.
What was Maria's purpose? Rufus knew well. She was not upset as Thomas said. Thomas was making
a perfunctory and looking for all kinds of reasons to shirk responsibility.
"Rufus, I apologize for her. Don't think too much, she misunderstood Director Chambers. Director
Chambers was wronged. I know that what happened that day has nothing to do with Director
Chambers. I will let Maria apologize to Director Chambers."
From the bottom of his heart, Thomas didn't want to mention Winnie, but at this moment, under Rufus's
pressure, he had to apologize.
He now knew that Rufus mentioned it not because of himself but because of Winnie. He wanted to get
even for Winnie, and at the same time warned him.
Whether Thomas' assurance was true or not, Rufus couldn't keep pulling a face. So, his tone eased.
"Thomas, we are a family. We can't make trouble every time we have a meal together. If Maria has any
dissatisfaction with our family, she can tell me directly. Let's talk about the problems together. We can
think of a way to solve it. You can't use this method to hurt the feelings of all of us."
"Always using this method to solve problems will definitely backfire and not achieve the results Maria
wants."
"What I hope most is that my family and everything will prosper, and my family will unite with harmony."
Rufus warned Thomas again.
Thomas could also know that Rufus was hinting at major events through trivial things, hinting at his
family, and even hinting at the Bennet Group.
