Chapter 32- The best
It was the weekend and Lora had just finished reviewing some reports in her study when her phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and a smile crossed her lips when she saw Jason's name "Hello, Jay. Lora answered.
"Hi Lora or should I say Miss L now since the cat is out of the bag?" Jason teased on the phone. "You keep being in the limelight and now, there's no day that goes by without the media houses talking about the highly talented designer, Miss L. Perhaps I should be good to you in case meeting you becomes so hard in the future. You're more popular than idol stars how."
"Oh, stop it, Jason, Lora said but her voice was light with mirth. "You're exaggerating! I can't be more popular than idol stars."
"Are you sure?" Jason remarked. I'm afraid you're going to need security soon because a lot of your fans will be flocking to you for autographs. With that said... can I be the first in line? Can I have the honour of
viting the talented designer to lunch today? I'll get your autograph while we're at it."
Lora laughed heartily. Her lips were so wide that they hurt. She replied, "Well, it's a weekend arid so yeah! Let's go and have lunch."
I'm free.
"Great the twins can join us if that's ok with you. I would like to see them, it's been a while," Jason offered.
Lora frowned and asked, "Is tha, ok? My kids can be a handful."
"Don't worry, I'm good with kids and I'll take care of them like they are my own," Jason promised.
"No problem then. I'll get them ready," Lora agreed. "I'm sure they will be thrilled."
A little while later, Jason and Lora took the kids to a family-friendly restaurant. The place had a children's play area where the children could play as they waited for the food. Since I was a weekend, the place was filled up with different families who were eating and chatting, having some bonding time with each other.
Jason smiled at the kids as they went through the menu and asked, "Ethan, Ella, what would you like to do after lunch? Would you like me to take you to the theme park?"
Ella's eyes lit up. She nodded quickly, "Yes, Uncle Jason. I would like to go and play."
On the other hand, Ethan wasn't that keen on playing like a normal kid. He would much rather play games on his tablet. However, since his sister had shown interest, he had no option but to agree too.
When both kids agreed, Jason grinned and said, "We are going to have fun, I promise!"
Lora smiled at their interaction and warmth spread through her heart. The kids seemed to like Jason and she liked him too, he was so kind, gentle and funny. "He would make a good father,' she thought in her mindContent bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
The four of them quickly had their lunch and Jason drove them to the theme pack. They looked like a family as Jason and Lora took the kids to play on the slides, they rode the roller coasters together and played on the waterslides. O
Ella had a great time and she even had her face painted Jason offered to paint his face too so that they could match
"Who wants ice cream? Jason asked when they got tired of playing
"Me! I want ice cream Ella exclaimed. "Ethan wants ice cream too. He's just too shy to say "
"I'm not shy," Ethan frowned
Jason chuckled and suggested, "Let's go and get ice cream."
When the adults were buying the ice cream, Ethan and Ella stood behind Lora and Jason where they discussed about Jason
Ella glanced at Jason before asking her brother, "Ethan, do you think Uncle Jason will marry our Mommy?" Ethan furrowed his eyebrows. He replied, "I don't know. That depends on whether Mommy likes him or
not
"But
Mommy belongs to Daddy," Ella protested. "I like Uncle Jason... he treats us like family and takes care of us. But I still think Daddy is the best. I want to meet him."
Ethan nodded and said, "I want to meet him too, but it's not the right time. Mommy will get upset if we meet him. She's angry with him. "
"Why? Is Daddy a bad person?
asked, looking at her brother with curiosity in her eyes.
Ethan sighed heavily like an adult. He stated, "Mommy has never talked about him. We will find out when we meet him." "What are you two rascals whispering about?" Lora's voice alerted the twins and they immediately stopped talking.
"We were talking about how this place is so nice, Mommy. I love it! We've had so much fun!" Ethan quickly responded. Lora smiled and gave them the ice cream. She remarked, "You should thank Uncle Jason for bringing you here" "Thank you, Uncle Jason!" The twins said in unison.
"Don't mention it. This is just the bare minimum... when you feel like coming to the theme park, just let me know, ok?" Jason offered and the twins nodded.
"I think we need to head back now, it's getting dark," Lora suggested. She glanced at Jason and said, "1 had a great time, Jay. Thank you... I needed this outing after all the chaos." "It's my pleasure," Jason smiled. "Let me send you back."
As they made their way to the parking lot, Lora suddenly felt an eerie chill run down her spine. She whipped her head around sharply but couldn't see anyone and everything looked normal Had she imagined it?
"Lora, are you ok?" Jason's voice brought Lora back to the present. She shook the feeling off and turned to glance at Jason.
"I'm fine," she replied, the feeling of being watched still lingering in her mind.
