Chapter 34 A Sudden Marriage Proposal
Chapter 34 A Sudden Marriage Proposal
Greyson reacted instinctively and rapidly, subconsciously tilting his head away and raising his hand to
block his face.
Rowan’s lips then kissed his palm.
Both were stunned.
Rowan was shocked because she hadn’t kissed his lips while Greyson was because of the
uncomfortable feeling.
Rowan rebounded from him and pursed her lips.
When Greyson saw her leaving, he put down his hand, with clear traces of lipstick on the palm of his
hand. He frowned with conceal while pulling out a handkerchief to wipe it off.
Rowan looked at him slowly and carefully wiping off the lipstick he had left on his palm. Her heart had
mixed feelings.
“Don’t do that next time, I don’t like it,” said Greyson indifferently.
“Why not? I am your fiancée!” Rowan replied with eyes red.
“…” Greyson became silent for a moment, “Just not so sudden.”
It’s true, she was his fiancée, Rowan, whom he had loved so much for so many years. How could he
have denied her kiss?
The thought of this made him pursed his lips and said, “Come on, how about I treat you for a delicious
meal tomorrow?”
When Rowan saw his attitude had softened and thought that it was indeed her sudden manoeuvre led
to this. She said condescendingly, “In that case, I want you to pick me up at my house tomorrow.”
“Sure.” Greyson nodded.
Only then Rowan smiled as if nothing had just happened.
Both continued to walk forward, and Rowan became well-behaved.
…
Hattie was biting a white towel in her mouth. Her whole body was sweating, even her hair was
drenched with sweat.
“Lady, can you still hold on? How about we prescribe you with anaesthetic?” the nurse wiped her sweat
while feeling sorry for her. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Hattie just nodded and gripped her fist, signalling she could still hold on.
The nurse sighed and didn’t say anything.
This lady was indeed one of the bravest she had ever met.
It was apparent that the toxin was so strong, unheard and unseen of. It had already invaded Hattie’s
internal organs. She was trembling in pain, yet she still refused to use anaesthetic. She still held on
while they performed the operation.
“Lady, just holds on a bit more, it’s almost over,” the doctor said. And finally, after the last stitch was
sewed up, she sighed in relief, “Lady, it’s done.”
Hattie relaxed her body while she was still trembling a little.
The nurse came up again and wiped her sweat.
“The damage caused by the toxin is unexpected,” the doctor said. “What kind of toxin is this? I can’t
even take a sample of it…”
Hattie just fainted right after she relieved herself.
Hattie woke up again in the middle of the night.
Her wound still hurt, but she didn’t feel much pain from it. Probably it’s because of what torment she
had experienced before, this one felt more like a mosquito bite.
The more it hurts, the better she can forget about him.
Yet, Greyson’s face feature became clearer to her.
Was it to remember him more fondly or to forget him?
She couldn’t figure it out herself.
“Hattie?” Jensen spoke softly, and only then she realized there was someone else in the room.
Hattie turned her head in a hurry and looked, “Jensen.”
“You’re awake? Does it still hurt? How are you feeling?” Jensen switched on the dim yellow light at the
side of the bed. Hattie quickly adapted the lighting and smiled at him.
“I’m fine,” Hattie replied.
Jensen was relieved to see that Hattie was fine, but soon anger flared up as he remembered she
hadn’t been anaesthetized during the operation, “You are so crazy!”
“I… What’s wrong…” Hattie was startled.
“How could you hadn’t taken anaesthetic? What are you being capricious about? Do you think the
operation was a joke? You…” Jensen said sharply. But when he saw her smiling eyes and he couldn’t
bear to blame her, “What are you smiling at…”
“I am thinking that it’s nice to have someone really care for me.” Hattie smiled. “Don’t worry Jensen, I
will take my life seriously.”
“Don’t do that ever again.” Jensen had lost his temper, “You don’t know how shocked I was when I
heard the news, I really want to shake you until you wake up.”
Hattie spat out her tongue.
She had realized something after experiencing such excruciating pain.
She didn’t know how long she had left. But before kicking the bucket, she wanted to live her life to the
fullest.
At least she did not want to disappoint Jensen and make him worry again.
“Hattie, how about we get married?” Jensen held her hand.
Hattie was shocked, looking at how he held her hands and looked him in the eye. She saw how serious
he was, she asked in a trembling voice, “Are you crazy?”
“No, I’m not crazy. I want to marry you. I want to give you a home.” That was the most determined thing
Jensen had ever done.
He wanted to protect her rightfully.
“Jensen, with this body, I can’t give you anything.” Hattie sighed, “I already am…”
“You’re not.” Jensen’s eyes were determined, “You will always be my Hattie.”
