Chapter 146 You can Ignore His Existence

“Don’t worry. I raised you to a big girl. I know how to take care of a child. You should leave now, and

take care of yourself.”

In the elevator, Rachel pressed the button to the basement as usual. But she realized something and

paused for a moment, reaching her finger to pressed the button to the first floor.

The elevator stopped at the first floor. Instead of going to the parking lot, she walked out of the

down and asked in a low voice, “He sent you here?

Maurice nodded deferentially, “Yes. Mr Shawn asked me to drive you to work.”

Rachel spurned his offer and replied, “No need. I can take a taxi. You can go back now.”

She thought he had understood what she said last night, but she found it was useless.

For the sake of the child, she would not drive to work anymore. She could get up earlier to take a taxi

or a bus. She was not a princess that needed a chauffeur to pick up her.

Maurice got in her way, with a tall and straight figure standing still in front of her. He replied quietly, “Ms

Lewis, Mr Shawn is my boss, and this is my job. I can’t do what you tell me. If you don’t like it, you can

tell Mr Shawn to let me leave.”

“Hello, this is Charlie Davis, the secretary. Mr Shawn is in a meeting now. You can leave a message to

me or call back later.”

“No, thank you.” she took a deep breath and was about to hang up.

“Wait a minute, are you Ms Lewis?” Charlie Davis asked in another tone. He seemed to have

recognized her voice.

Rachel answered quietly, “Yes, I am. If he’s not available now, I’ll hang up.”

what I said last night?”

The man at the other end of the phone asked in a deeper voice, “You drive today?”

Rachel bit her lips, “No.”

bus. And taking Maurice’s car is obviously a better choice than taking a taxi. You can also pay him.”
