Chapter 975
Frederic caught Liza, who was paralyzed with fear, and pushed her toward the car.
Meanwhile, Debra kicked Edgar in the chest and pinned him under her heel. "Tell me, what's in Seamar City?"novelbin
She had gone to great lengths to corner Edgar, intending to have Randy keep an eye on him in Seamar City until she could return to confront him.
But Edgar had fled overseas, taking Liza and Cathryn hostage in his desperation.
With his thigh pierced, Edgar could barely fight back. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he spat, "What's in Seamar City? Are you seriously pretending you don't know? It's wealth beyond imagination. The kind of fortune every merchant dreams of." "What treasure?" Debra leaned in, her expression intense. "Be specific."
Edgar's hand suddenly darted to his waist. In a flash, he drew a concealed dagger and slashed toward her. In reflex, Debra caught it.
Frederic immediately raised his gun, only to find it hard to aim at Edgar. He was trying to use Debra as a shield.
"Help Cathryn!" Liza's panicked voice rang out, her eyes fixed on Cathryn, who was cowering in the corner.
Frederic hesitated for only a moment before holstering his gun and rushing forward. However, instead of heading toward Cathryn, he went straight for Edgar.
"Get back!" Debra shouted.
But Frederic had already acted. Edgar suddenly pivoted and sliced the blade across Frederic's palm.
Debra took the chance to pull back, while Edgar's eyes darted to the pistol on the ground.
Frederic endured the pain in his hand and fired a clean shot into Edgar's shoulder.
Edgar collapsed and was wracked with agony, veins bulging across his skin.
Debra walked closer and bent down. to retriem the gun. She stared at
Edgar, who was struggling to even breathe. "Let's see how much fight you have left now."
Just then, a sharp cry rang out. "Nobody moves!"
They turned to see Cathryn holding the dagger against Liza's neck. Learning from the previous
experience, she positioned Liza in front of her, ensuring she wouldn't be an easy target.
"Cathryn, you ungrateful snake!" Liza screamed.
Never in her wildest nightmares had she imagined that Cathryn would one day hold a blade to her throat.
They had grown up together, their bond as thick as thieves.
Cathryn was the only friend Debra ever truly had. But now, Cathryn was willing to throw it all away for Marion.
"Don't say a word!" Cathryn's hand trembled, and the blade drew blood from Liza's neck.
Debra frowned. "You had a knife this whole time? Why didn't you fight back?"
Cathryn sneered, "Why would I? Edgar and I had a deal. He wanted money and I wanted Marion. He was going to kill you and get some benefits from Drake, solving@wo problems for me."
