Chapter 655
Lara was concerned. "What about you?"
"Don't worry about me," Debra replied. "Drake won't do anything to me for now. Make sure you get the phone to them."
"I will," Lara promised.
Soon after, she escorted Debra to the deck. The maids began disembarking one by one. Before leaving, Lara glanced back at Debra, who gave her a reassuring look and left.
At the dock, a group of men in black suits and sunglasses stood waiting. As soon as Drake appeared, they stepped forward to greet him.
One of them said, "Sir, Mr. Odom instructed me to welcome you here."
Drake hummed in response.
Debra was startled upon hearing the voice. It was none other than Edgar's secretary, Chace.
She looked over and saw the Odom family's crests on their chests.
The one thing indicated the close relationship between Edgar and Drake.
Chace saw Debra out of the corner of his eye and froze. He hadn't expected to see her with Drake.
"Isn't that Ms. Frazier? What brings you here with..."
Before he could finish, Drake cut him off. "Don't ask questions you don't need answers to."
Chace immediately bowed his head. "Yes, my apologies for overstepping. I'll escort you to the accommodation Mr. Odom has arranged." Drake hummed, uninterested in further conversation.
Debra, trailing behind, felt her suspicion growing. They were supposed to head to Orkgate, yet here they were in Flesta.
She just didn't dare voice her doubts.
In the car, Drake spoke lazily. "If you have questions, just ask."
"Where are we going?" Debra asked cautiously.
"You know very well where we are. This is Flesta," he replied nonchalantly.
"What are we doing in Flesta?" she pressed.
Edgar was currently in Seamar City, focused on dealing with the
McKinney Group and Oscar. Holine
didn't have the time or reason to be concerned about Flesta.
She wondered if Drake was just here for fun, but it didn't make sense.
After all, even Edgar had left to search for the treasure in Seamar City.
Drake replied, "I'm tired. We'll stay here for the night, and tomorrow morning we'll fly to Orkgate."
A heavy feeling settled in Debra's chest.
"Well, I might not have much left, but I'm still an executive at the McKinney Group. If I go missing, my boss will come looking for me," she said.
"I've already had your resignation submitted to your secretary. As of today, you're no longer in that position," Drake said nonchalantly. His words caused Debra to look at him.
No one knew she was the owner of the McKinney Group, not even Drake.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Ben would easily see through the ruse and realize something was off. In a way, Drake had unknowingly helped her send out a signal.
Drake caught the strange flicker in her eyes. His brows furrowed as he asked, "Why do you look so pleased?"
Debra quickly put on an angry face
"That position is the last thing I have. How could you just submit my resignation without telling me? That's too much."
