Getting My Ex-wife Back

Chapter 164 Promise Me One Thing

Jenna’s appetite was terrible throughout dinner.

Hansen had come up with various methods so she would at least take in something. He even changed his preferences for Jenna. Things Jenna loved to eat had now become one of his favorites, too, although he never liked them before.

After dinner, Jenna noticed they were not heading in the direction of the Richards Manor but in an unfamiliar direction. Surprised, she hurriedly asked, “Hansen, where are we going?”

Hansen had a warm smile on his face but he remained silent.

Jenna was startled to see that smile of his before a realization dawned on her. Instantly, her face flushed red slightly.

Soon, the car stopped in front of a luxurious vacation villa.

The bellboy of the villa greeted them immediately.

Hansen opened the car door and walked to the side. Like an elegant gentleman, he extended his hand to help Jenna get down the car.

Jenna put her hand gently on his.

Hansen took her hand and exerted more force, almost lifting Jenna up from her seat.

“Park the car.” Hansen took out a few hundred dollars and gave them to the valet who came forward to help park the car. Hansen gently put his hand around Jenna’s slender waist, lovingly embraced her in his arms. They then went straight up in the elevator.

“We won’t go home today. We will spend the night here,” Hansen whispered softly, hugging Jenna tightly.

A flush crept up Jenna’s face as her long eyelashes fluttered like a pair. She stuck close to Hansen as her lips quirked upwards into a bashful smile that made her look all the more dashing.

After entering an exquisite and luxurious hotel room, Hansen closed the door behind him before he covered Jenna’s plump, sultry lips with his. The air was as hot as fire.

His lips skimmed across every inch of her skin passionately.

The undercurrent in Jenna’s body was like raging waves, full of passion as it ignited every cell in her body.

She just wanted to find her release and give herself entirely to him.

They were inseparable at the moment. Since she was in love with him, she felt that she must give herself entirely to him so he would never leave her. Perhaps, this was the natural possessiveness of human nature.

Jenna began to wrap her arms around Hansen’s neck. She pressed against him and responded with his kiss with more passion.

Jenna’s response drove Hansen into another ecstasy. Their kiss intensified as he clasped her waist tightly.

At that moment, they had forgotten everything in the midst of their ardor for each other.

Gradually, they decided to get on from kissing for it could no longer satisfy their lust. They began to take off each other’s clothes as their breathing became more erratic.

Even in the process of undressing, they were never separated; their bodies were tightly glued to each other as they continued to savor each other’s lips.

When their clothes got caught, Hansen would let out a curse in a low voice as he drew himself away from her for a split second to take off the clothes. Then, he would quickly press his lips onto Jenna’s lips again, sinking deeper and deeper into this sensual paradise.

There seemed to be thousands of flames in his body. He felt that he was about to be burned into molten lava by his own desire. He got to release it, right here and now.

Hansen held her tightly, picked her up, and walked towards the bed.

Jenna was as soft as cotton; she couldn’t escape him as long as he held onto her.

Jenna’s hair was spread out on the snow-white sheets. Her gleaming skin was as shiny as porcelain with a slight tint of flush spreading across her already tempting skin, making his throat dry.

Another air of melancholy spread across quietly in him; his love and tenderness for her made his body smolder.

Hansen had led Jenna into another time and space.

In this parallel universe, they belonged to each other, and only each other.

There, they released themselves wholeheartedly.

Jenna had long since melted in his embrace as she followed his lead.

His passion and love, on the other, was as fierce as a thunderstorm.

“Jenna, promise me that no matter what you encounter, you must trust me and believe in my love for you, okay?” When they both hauled themselves to the highest point of this unification, Jenna heard Hansen’s magnetic voice ringing beside her as though it came from a distant cloud. It sounded like he was begging her; she could hear the hurt in his voice.

Jenna was in a trance. She felt like she was in an imaginary cloud with colorful lights in front of her. She couldn’t wrap her mind around his words. At this moment, she couldn’t think about anything else as Hansen’s wet lips looted on her. Soon, they entered another level of intimate union.

That night was quiet and peaceful. Moonlight leaked through the curtains like running water. The air was intoxicated with a scent of honey, drowning the two of them.

It was the best night in the world. Who would want this to end?

They indulged themselves in it, again and again.

They then repeated the entire process.

It felt as if it was the only night when they could connect as one, to reconcile, and to express their love to each other in the most intimate way possible.

It was sorrowful, yet addictive. One couldn’t decide whether to die for it or live for it; this conflicting feeling was about to linger in the depth of their hearts forever.

The two fell into a deep sleep, and when they woke up, the bed was messy and unsightly.

They seemed to have a long night but they wished for more. When she opened her eyes, Jenna saw Hansen sitting at the bedside, smoking a cigarette. His lonely expression dazed her for a brief moment.

His dark, downcast eyelashes veiled the slight hint of sadness in his eyes. All of a sudden, he turned before his eyes came into contact with Jenna’s sparkling bright eyes. He froze as a gentle smile cracked across his face.

Jenna stared at him in a trance.

His bright eyes at this time were twinkling with affection and gentleness. But deep inside, Jenna could see hurt and pain. Her heart could not help but ache for him.

“Why are you still smoking?” The smell of smoke made her cough. Jenna got up and snatched the cigarette from his hand. Displeased, she asked straightforwardly, “Hansen, you promised me that you won’t smoke anymore. You should honor your word.”

Jenna was a little angry that Hansen didn’t care about his health.

Hansen chuckled helplessly without stopping her snatching the cigarette away from him. She then put it out in the ashtray.

Hansen grabbed Jenna into his arms and mumbled, “No more next time, okay?”

His voice was very soft, almost humble.

The once-powerful Mr. Richards was being so humble in front of her. Jenna was touched by his tenderness. Truth be told, she was surprised too. Almost instantly, her entire being was consumed by sorrow.

What was going on? Why did it feel so weird?

Jenna couldn’t spot or think of any abnormality. Maybe he was behaving like this out of love. Maybe.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“Hansen, it’s about time to go to work.” Jenna picked up her phone and looked at it. It was almost nine o’clock; she should head to work.

“No, Jenna, I don’t have to go to work today.” Hansen held her down and said softly, “Jenna, I want to ask you of something. Would you agree?”

“What’s the matter?” Jenna was a little surprised. Mr. Richards had something to ask of her. Did she hear it wrongly? The inexplicable feeling of uneasiness crawled into her heart again.

Hansen put his arms around her shoulders, put a thick coat around her, and whispered in her ear, “Jenna, from today onwards, you will accompany my dad for his surgery and take care of him in my stead. The Richards Group will be getting some financial investment projects from overseas in the near future. I’ll leave this matter to you, okay?”

Hansen raised it up so cautiously before he added, “Jenna, about your mother, I will ask two professional caretakers to look after her. Leave the rest to me in A city. Believe me, we won’t be separated for long.”

Hansen held Jenna’s tiny hand, his clear eyes sparkling.

Jenna’s heart sank instantly. So, were they going to be separated?

The thought of separation made her heart hurt.

Jenna looked at him, and she tightened her lips.

“Believe me, all this will end soon and we will have the wedding ceremony.” Hansen’s face was painted with sincerity. He lowered his head and kissed Jenna softly. “I’ll leave my father to you, because only then can I be most assured.”

It turned out Hansen trusted her.

Jenna was relieved. Gone was the sadness of parting.

Looking at his genuine expression, she couldn’t help but nod.

“Okay, Hansen, I promise you.” She buried her head in his chest.

Hansen had a bright smile on his face as he hugged her. The pain in his eyes flashed across his eyes.

“Jenna, you will only be safe if you leave A city. Trust me, I can give you an explanation soon.” Hansen sighed secretly in his heart.

Knowing that they would not be able to meet for a long time, both of them were upset. They were reluctant to let fate take control of their lives, but they did not have a choice.

Hansen could use Jennifer to deal with Brock, and then Brock would definitely think of using Jenna to deal with him.

Jenna was the woman he cherished and hence, his weakness that his enemies would exploit. Hansen must protect her so that she wouldn’t get used by other people to threaten him. He would never expose her to the risk of getting hurt.

Aria was pregnant. This was probably Jenna’s worst nightmare. How could Jenna take in this news when she was already scarred?

Furthermore, Hansen had a hunch that Earl’s family wouldn’t let her off the hook so easily.

Therefore, Jenna must leave A City temporarily.

This was an imminent matter, and it had been carefully considered by him. As a man, it was his responsibility and his obligation not to allow the woman he loved to be harmed.

Hansen would be able to fight this battle if Jenna was safe.

Only when she was safe could he let go of the shackles and brave all the challenges.

Their separation was inevitable.

The plane carrying Jenna and Trevor left the runway and rose into the dark sky. When it slowly left A city, Hansen felt as if he was consumed by a black hole; something that he held dear had left him.

He watched the plane drawing its dance further away from him and soon, it vanished into the vast darkness. He stood rooted for a while before he turned his head resolutely.

The winter in A city was particularly cold that year. It was noon when it began to snow heavily. The plume-like snow tumbled down from the sky, bringing bursts of cold to A city.

Hansen walked in the cold wind as snowflakes adorned his brown coat. The bitterly cold wind swept his coat and carried it to dance with the wind, making him look even more unrestrained and handsome.

He walked into Shawn Hall calmly. The waiter immediately greeted him and led him into Gelsius Garden.

Earl’s suit and leather shoes looked pristine. His shrewd eyes were covered with an enigmatic aura under the refraction of his thick glasses. The white of his eyes glistened under the light; he seemed exceptionally formidable this very evening.

It looked as if anyone provoked him would die a miserable death.

The heating in the room was sufficient. It felt as warm as spring.
