Chapter 709

Chapter 709

“Well…” The staff member hesitated.

The wedding gown and dress designed for Debra were not just any pieces. They were one–of–a–kind, custom–tailored specifically for her. The Houstons had even purchased the exclusive rights to the designs, ensuring their uniqueness.

According to store policy, those gowns couldn’t be sold to anyone else.

Shelia grumbled, “Is there a problem?”

The staff member replied, “Ms. Blair, this dress was custom–made for Mrs. Houston, specifically tailored to her measurements. I’m afraid it might not fit you properly. How about we have our designer create something just for you?”

Shelia insisted, “But I want that design for my engagement dress. Either make me an identical one or make it better than what she’s wearing.”

She shot Debra a smug, challenging look, and the staff members were caught in the middle.

The tailor finished her job, putting away the measuring tape.

Debra slipped back into her coat, her composure unshaken.

Erica, however, was fuming. “Does she think she’s someone important now? She’s got no business wearing something better than you.”

In Seamar City’s upper–class society, there were unwritten rules.

It was a common courtesy that those of lower status didn’t outshine those of higher status. It was like a worker showing up to the office dressed flashier than the boss. It was a surefire way to offend someone.

And here was Shelia, brazenly provoking them and challenging the established order.

Sensing the tension, the store manager stepped in. “Mrs. Houston, we apologize for this. Let me escort you to the VIP room.”

Debra was unbothered. “We’re not the ones being rude Why should we hide?”

Her gaze swept over the luxurious fabrics laid out on the table. “If Ms. Blair wants a more extravagant dress, why don’t we send these premium fabrics over to her? I’m sure Melody would love to give her opinion too.”

Debra picked out a few expensive swatches and handed them to the stunned manager, who quickly instructed the staff to present the fabrics to Shelia.

“Ms. Blair, these are some of the finest fabrics in our collection.”

“Better than what Ms. Frazier is wearing?”

“Yes, these are the highest quality.”

They weren’t lying, but clothes weren’t just about quality. It was more about fitting.

These fine fabrics suited Debra, and they might not necessarily suit Shelia.

Shelia turned to Melody. “Grandma, what do you think of these fabrics?

Melody replied, “They are nice but a bit too pricey.”

She didn’t like the idea of spending so much, especially since Shelia had killed Juan’s unborn child.

But with Debra on the other side, she didn’t want to appear inferior.

“Alright, we’ll go with this one. I like satin.”

“Excellent choice, Ms. Blair. That’s imported silk satin, the finest in our store.” Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Shelia basked in the praise, her chest puffed up with pride.
