Chapter 29: How could she be so cruel to herself?
Allyce silently cursed her luck.
Richie had seen her. He decided it would be best to keep Lucila out of his sight, to prevent him from getting to know Lucila as a person.
Richie looked at her, his eyes full of contemplation, then turned his head and said something to the man beside him.
Allyce grabbed the bottle of beer and quickly made her way through the crowd and out of the bar. Fortunately, the table she chose was close to the door.
Once outside the bar, she dared not linger any longer. She saw a taxi nearby and was about to walk towards it when she heard a voice behind her say: “There he is!
Lucila didn’t spend a lot of money, so the bar she had chosen was an ordinary one in town, not too fancy. By that reasoning, she shouldn’t have met Richie here. It was just a bad coincidence.
The taxi driver was sharp and saw the man chasing Allyce. He did not stop for her and drove off with the empty taxi.
Allyce has no choice but to walk quickly to a crowded area not far away, but finds the way blocked.
Seven or eight men surrounded her and Allyce was unable to move.
Richie approached her and the men quickly moved out of her way. He had a big fake smile on his face and said, “Allyce Miss, it’s been a long time”.
Allyce cautiously leaned closer to the wall: “It hasn’t been a month yet. Why, Mr Nuncio, your memory is getting worse.
“Hmph!” The smile on Richie’s face turned cruel as he reached out to touch her face, but she avoided his hand.
His face hardened even more as he sneered: “Miss Delahoz, you’re a little grumpy, but I like that!
“It’s a pity, I don’t like you.” Not only did she not like him, but her stomach churned even when she looked at his face.
Richie’s eyes sparkled dangerously”. All women are like that, hypocrites. They play coy, but once you get them into bed, they can’t keep their legs behind them.
Allyce clutched the beer bottle in her hand, but said nothing. She looked around, carefully assessing her situation and thinking about how to escape.
Seeing the look of contempt on Allyce’s face, Richie lifted his chin and smiled wickedly. Holding up a hand, he ordered his men, “Take her away”.
“Get away from me!” Allyce raised her bottle and shook it, pointing at the men, trying to look brave. In reality, she was shaking with fear and her palms were sweating, but all she could do was hold on tightly to the bottle.
Richie’s men had been working for him for a long time, doing his dirty work, which included harassing and kidnapping many women from wonderful families. Some women cry and beg to be let go, others are willing to do anything to make Richie happy.
For the first time, however, a woman was not only not afraid, but pointed a glass bottle at them and threatened them. For a moment, everyone stopped in their tracks.
Seeing them stop timidly, Richie’s face turned red with anger and he roared, “What are you waiting for? Get her out of here.
Allyce swallowed hard and shouted at them in a hoarse voice: “Don’t you dare! Who are you? You can’t touch me. I am the second daughter of the Delahoz group. My grandfather is Casimiro Delahoz”.
At these words Richie laughed as if he had heard something funny, and at the sight of it his men laughed too.
“Did you hear that? She said she was the second daughter of the Delahoz group, the one who prostituted herself and even had an abortion in high school. Once I’m done with her, you can do whatever you want with her …”
Hearing Richie’s words made Allyce’s stomach churn.
Even if what he said was not true, she still felt bad.
No girl wanted her reputation to be ruined and for people to feel that they could do whatever they wanted with her. This was all caused by Senona.
Suddenly, the phone in her purse started ringing. allyce was stunned. her instinct told her it was lucila and she was too scared to answer it or even move.
Richie bopped the nearest person on the head and said: “I said take her away! Take her phone, tie her up and put her in the car”.
One of the men approached Allyce and reached out to hold her hand. Allyce grabbed the bottle tightly and put it to his head.
Blood immediately ran down his face. It was dark and thick, slowly covering his pale face and glistening in the dim streetlight.
Everyone was stunned by her sudden action and Richie’s smile froze, he hadn’t expected Allyce to be so cruel to herself.
Four years ago, after hearing rumours, he had met her once by chance. She was so beautiful that he had fallen in love with her, but she had ended up going abroad and he had never had the chance to act on his feelings.
“Richie, what do you think my grandfather would say if he knew I was dying here today?” Allyce’s voice was calm and cold. She still had some shards of glass sticking out of her head, and it looked like she really would die here if they tried to touch her.
“You …” Richie’s face changed. He looked at her menacingly and seemed to be filled with rage. He kicked one of his men and howled in rage.
“You useless bastard!”
Richie breathed hard, trying to remain calm. Although he knew that Allyce was not well regarded by her family, Casimiro Delahoz would not let him go free if Allyce died because of him. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Watching him kick his own men to vent his anger, Allyce knew he wouldn’t hurt her tonight; she relaxed a little.
Her head was numb with pain and the night breeze blew a chill that made her feel as if she was in a daze. Her vision blurred, the people in front of her moved and blurred. If Richie and his men had stayed here any longer, she might have fainted.
Fortunately, Richie and his men left.
Allyce swayed in place, holding onto the wall for support as she shook her head to clear her mind. She had to get to the hospital first.
She reached down and pulled her phone out of her bag. There was a notification of a missed call. She looked at it for a long time before the name registered in her head: the missed call from Casimiro Delahoz.
She called him back.
As soon as she picked up the phone, he began to scold her: “Where are you fooling around and not answering my calls?
In fact, she only called once, and although she was unable to answer because of Richie and his team, it is not uncommon for people to miss calls because they didn’t hear the phone.
And yet he scolded her for something so trivial.
He kept talking, but she couldn’t hear him clearly.
Casimiro didn’t care if she answered or not and told her directly what he was calling her for, “there’s a party at home tomorrow night, come if you want to …”.
With that, she hung up the phone. The phone slipped from Allyce’s hand and fell to the floor. She picked it up again and sent a message to Lucila.
Her body felt cold and her head was spinning. She blinked furiously and saw Severo standing in front of her.
She reached out to embrace him, but her hand closed in mid-air; no one was there. Disappointment flashed through her eyes. It was just an illusion. Why was she thinking about him? Maybe because Severo was the only person who had been good to her since she was nine.
Although he always teased her, he had willingly married her, cooked for her, tolerated her anger and even dried her hair.
