Was Sylvia able to keep her brother around?

She watched as Grandpa stepped out of the study, emerging from Jonathan Lamont's embrace, "Let's head back!"

Back in the living room, everyone resumed watching the evening show. At ten o'clock, Old Wade came over, handing Old Mr. Jarvis a box.

Mr. Jarvis pulled out four intricately carved mahogany boxes from it, chuckling, "Wade and I are off to sip some tea and chat in the room. These are your New Year's gifts. I'll leave them here. They're labeled with your names, so feel free to divide them amongst yourselves."

Sylvia Jarvis knew the gift was pricey the moment she laid eyes on the boxes and was hesitant to accept such an expensive gift from Old Mr. Jarvis. She was about to stand up and politely refuse when Gabriel grabbed her hand.
