Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2243

Chapter 2243

Charlie lounged in the VIP section, his gaze fixated on Emily since she made her entrance. Glancing at Jonathan, he couldn't help but smirk, "I totally get why you wanted to clock Manley Scott last time!"

Jonathan's gaze was inscrutable, his tone ambiguous. "We're not the same, Charlie. If you want to go up there and start swinging now, I won't stop you."

Charlie scoffed, "After all this time Josiah looked up to you, you're really going to throw him under the bus like that? Doesn't it prick your conscience?" Jonathan replied coolly, "Considering I didn't march up there and drag her away, I'd say I've been quite generous."

Nodding, Charlie said, "He's my cousin, so I'll cut him some slack too. But this is definitely the last time."

Jonathan gave him a sidelong glance. "What if at my wedding, Ella wants Emily to be her maid of honor?"

Charlie chuckled, "What makes you think your wedding will happen before mine?"

A flicker of sarcasm crossed Jonathan's face. "The odds are less than zero."

Charlie's handsome face darkened, then he quickly recovered with a forced smile. "Early or late doesn't matter. Emily and I already have kids!"

Jonathan spoke deliberately, "The kids are here, but she hasn't agreed to marry you. Not sure what there is to be proud of."

Charlie was at a loss for words.

He no longer wanted to sit next to this sharp-tongued man!

As a warm and elegant piano melody filled the air, the hall quieted down. The doors swung open, letting in a dazzling light, and there stood Amiee, radiant in her simple yet stunning white wedding gown, her short hair accentuated by a carefree veil.

Her brilliance caught Josiah's eye, and he found himself drawn to her.

As Amiee walked arm in arm with

Mr. Jordan, each step heavy with emotion, she finally reached Josiah. Mr. Jordan, looking tenderly at Amiee, said, "My dear, the love your mother and I have for you has always been pure and unconditional. Please always remember that and carry it with you as you embark on this new journey in life."

Amiee looked up and realized how much her father had aged, wrinkles framing his eyes that no longer held the youthful vigor of the past.

Flashes of memory hit her: her

father returning from work to play with her in the garden, his voice calling her name; waving goodbye as she entered kindergarten, and seeing his car still there after class; the tear in his eye as they drove to the hospital after she hurt her leg at school...

Despite the pain and distance her parents' relationship caused her, she realized their love for her was indeed pure.

And it was their love that never made her give up on finding the kind of love she longed for in her heart.

They had given her so much more than she ever acknowledged.

With a choked voice, she embraced the man who had been her rock, whispering, "Dad, I'm sorry."Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Mr. Jordan gently patted her back, his voice full of warmth and affection, "No need for apologies, my dear. Today is the most important day of your life. Be happy."

Turning to Josiah, he said, "I'm entrusting you with my most precious treasure. Take good care of her."

Josiah nodded solemnly, "You have my word. I'll be good to her and her alone, letting only her boss me around."

Amiee, feeling the weight of the moment lighten, almost laughed at his words, whispering, "Who's bossing you around?"
